If you love retellings of King Arthur’s legends but love dystopian fantasy as well, you should give this series a try.

Sword of Truth by Thea Atkinson is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have been hooked on since the very beginning and I can not wait to read the rest. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about urban fantasy and dark romance.

Action packed, emotionally thrilling and exciting adventure filled with witty and engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and exciting turns. A highly entertaining and edge of your seat adventure.
Hunter is now gone. But is he? Skye is now the leader of the village. Not that she wants it. Then Hunter and his Red Skulls attack, setting fire to the fields of crops and the forest. The entire village shows up to attack the fire and when it is mostly out, the Red Skulls ride in and start killing anyone within reach. When Hunter and his Red Skulls finally retreat, Skye has seven dead villagers, both men and women. Skye and Lance are growing closer and they find out Myste is the commander of the Shadows. The fight scenes in this book are awesome plus there is some romance, but the story ends in a cliffhanger. Highly recommended.

Sword of Truth is the second book in the Queen of Skye and Shadow series. This book continues along an Authrian dystopian trek. Skye ls now serving as leader and she has Exaclibur. I am enjoying this creative retelling of King Authur. It is interesting to see familiar elements showing in a new way.

Now that our heroine has become the leader of the town, she has to adapt to coming out of the shadows. It is a new reality for her.
This is book two of the series. The story works okay as a standalone, but I recommend starting at the beginning to get the full effect.
This book is an interesting blend of the modern dystopian story with sword and sorcery fantasy. The story is well written and easy to read, although occasionally jarring as it mixes the familiar with the decidedly not. The story is a little slower paced than the previous book, but that is okay as there is a lot of adjustment and preparation going on. The story is still quite enjoyable and has plenty of surprises to keep it going. I also really enjoyed watching our heroine step up and grow in this book. Overall, a highly enjoyable addition to the series.
Highly recommended.

2nd book of this series; I recommend reading book 1 first. This one also ends in a cliffhanger, so you’ll be needing to read the next book.
This one starts where the last one ended; Skye has been unwillingly named leader of New Denver after the uprising in the first book. Unfortunately, the corrupt and dangerous individuals that Skye and her crew took on are still on the loose and causing problems. Skye doesn’t think she has leader qualities, but everyone keeps trying to thrust her into the position, so Skye is going to need to rise above her fear and step up. The King Arthur aspects are interesting; I’m not sold on Marlin, but still a fun addition. I’m liking the vibe between Lance and Skye for the most part. Skye is a tough cookie, but she’s still a bit of an emotional mess mentally. Overall, I enjoy this dystopian style story; I’d like more depth to the characters and story overall, and I don’t quite connect with the writing style, but still an interesting story. I’m looking forward to the next book!
Skye is back and now trying to handle everything with her new importance in New Denver. Of course things are not all rosy and trouble occurs. Loved the story, characters, Skye, and the danger/uncertainty that occurs. The bits of modern day, mixed with the fantasy, mixed with the crazy future makes the story interesting and work. The more personal interactions with Skye and others were somewhat funny at times. Just a good read and hard to put down as had to see what was going to happen next.
This second book gives us more of this fantastic tale of a young woman who become more of what she is destined to be. This is another wonderfully written book about Sky’s journey. I loved it!

Hold onto your hats because Ms. Atkinson just upped the ante on The Sword of Truth. In the first book we meet Skye Shadow and the citizens of New Denver and it was a “hold onto the seat of your pants” introduction to this dystopian society. Having beaten back the villain Hunter Wolfe in their first skirmish, Skye, Lance, Gal and Marlin soon discover that Hunter is not just out for revenge, but nothing short of complete alienation of Skye and New Denver will do.
I’ve always loved Ms. Atkinson’s books and this new series is nothing short of intense, cringe-worthy and absolutely terrific–a master storyteller. Her descriptions come alive on the page and draws the reader into this harsh world. While this book ends in a cliffhanger, it won’t be too much longer until book 3 is available. I personally can’t wait!!
I voluntarily read this book and all opinions are my own.
Loved book two of the Queen of Skye and Shadow series. I couldn’t put this book down. Loved Skye and the story was very well written. I highly recommend this series!!! (I received this book as an arc and am leaving a voluntary honest review)
Sword of Truth is Book 2 in the Queen Of Skye And Shadow series and what a phenomenal series it is. In this book Thea Atkinson raised the bar from Sword of Honor. We have Hunter Wolfe and his crew back and nothing less than anellation of Skye and the town of New London will satisfy them after there defeat in Sword of Honor. Thea has the natural ability to create pictures with words that draws you into the story. It is so easy to relate to Skye because of her emotions, both for good and bad. The story line is unique in that it weaves the Arthurian Legend into this tale of valor and the character development is exceptional. Loved all the background included in this book. I am anxiously looking forward to Book 3 to see where Thea is going to take us. I highly recommend this series. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
A warrior, a woman fighter and her sword Excalibur, is on a quest to get rid of Hunter. This horrendous thing doesn’t care about people and will take over if not stopped! The people want her as their leader. This starts with a bang and continues as a page turner. A continuing story that follows the warrior and her special sword and I can’t wait to read the next book.
We pick up after Sky & the people of New Denver have defeated Hunter and his crew. Skye is trying to adjust to her new life as the leader of New Denver. The people have spoken. They even want her to move closer to town. While Skye is fighting her internal demons and deciding whether or not to move into Colten Musks former residence, strange things start to happen. Skye and Lance are testing the boundaries of their relationship. Love love love how Lance is so patient. ( his words are so epic in this part ) Never have I ever wanted to be a piece of metal so bad lol. And then Hunter makes his appearance in a BIG way. New Denver has their work cut out for them. While this book may not have the same level of action and adventure as book one, it is a much needed in preparation for book three. Its very suspenseful and a excellent read. This is the calm before the storm and a warm up to what I believe will be a phenomenal book three. I absolutely can not wait!
This second book in the series is phenomenal! I love how the town is following Skye and believing in her. And that ending? Whoo! I NEED to read the next book!
