One night of complete surrender is all it takes. Gareth Harris is Manchester United’s reclusive star defender. He has control over all aspects of his life. But a lifetime of supporting his siblings and filling in for an emotionally absent father has taken its toll. Sloan Montgomery is a clothing stylist whose world was turned upside down when she found herself pregnant and moving to Manchester … moving to Manchester with a man who was never supposed to be her forever. Now recently divorced and struggling with shared custody of her daughter, control is a fleeting concept for this American living in England.
Both Gareth and Sloan are in need of a release.
A moment in time where they can forget about their pasts and family pressures…and just…
…surrender.
No one could predict what happens when both of their defences are down.
Surrender is part one of the Final Harris Brother Duet and concludes with Dominate. This duet reads great on it’s own, but to maximize enjoyment, check out the first three brothers’ books in Challenge, Endurance, and Keeper

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!
OMG! OMG! OMG! What the frack just happened?!?!?! I need Dominate right fracking now!
This was so not what I expected. Amy Daws threw me for quite the loop. I loved it and it absolutely made the story so much more. Ms. Daws totally slayed Gareth’s story.
I knew that Gareth’s story was going to be serious but I didn’t expect the roller coaster ride of emotions I experienced. I laughed at all the Harris’ antics. I cried at the heart-wrenching moments. I swooned at Gareth’s sweet side. And when those intense sexy scenes popped up, I was fanning myself like crazy.
Another amazing story and I cannot wait to get my hands on Dominate.
I’ve been waiting for Gareths story since the start of the Harris brothers series. The leader of the pack he has always been somewhat of a mystery to us. We get a glimps into his world in Surrender. I have a heavy book hangover from part one of this 2 part book and am waiting not so patiently for the end of this great story and series.
6 STARS FORGET 5….
Oh my GOD!!!! I just finished and …. hot, sexy and more.
Amy Daws… I have been spoiled for all other reads… well till the next half of this book is released!!!! I am in love with this read and the ending… nail biter!!! Eep!!!
If you’ve read ANY of the first three books, then you’ve most likely been waiting for Gareth’s book. Let me tell you, he’s worth the wait.
Gareth is the oldest brother in this wild football bunch. He’s the most serious, the most controlled. Basically he’s the most closed off. There are reasons for that and Amy slowly unravels all of Gareth’s mysteries in Surrender.
Sloan is a transplanted single mom, trying to keep her head above water while keeping her clients happy. Dealing with her pompous jerk of an ex certainly doesn’t do much for her self-esteem. She’s ultra cautious when it comes to her daughter Sophia, but for good reason.
I love the chemistry between Sloan and Gareth. What starts out as a very easy working relationship turns into something deeper after one night of seeking comfort. Their story isn’t an insta-love, it’s a beautiful evolution that Amy allows us to be a part of.
Both of these characters have complex pasts, and Amy does an amazing job of developing them as the book moves along. This book does end on a cliffhanger, so if you hate those, then wait the two weeks for Dominate to come out before you read.
This book is bittersweet in the fact that after this duet is published, we say goodbye to the Harris clan. And if you’ve been here since the beginning, you’ll be like me. Not ready to let them go.
OMG OMG OMG! Amy, you are a genius!! Bloody brilliant, (as the Brits would say). 😉 Which I wanted to touch on because a lot of authors that are not British don’t use the correct spelling or language, but Amy was spot on, and I loved that!
First of all perfect cover and title. Where do I even begin?
Usually, the Dom/sub thing the way it was presented in this novel usually isn’t my thing, but the way Amy wrote this she knew what she was doing and how to make it HOT! Not only that though it pulls at your heartstrings and has you feeling for these characters.
Gareth has become my favorite Harris brother. He is so complex and such a great character to get to know and love, he has so many layers, always in control on the field with his teammates and with his family. He wants to give up it up for once and just let go.
“I maintain control in so many aspects of my life. I liked giving it up to you.”
Sloan’s character has gone through heartache too, she’s lost control of her life and herself, and she needs to find it in some aspect of her life. I can’t imagine going through what she had to with my daughter.
These two make the perfect coupling, they work, and they sizzle. They also get one another when no one else has.
I loved getting tidbits of Garreth as a boy and getting some of his past.
That damn cliffhanger has me dying to get this next book in my hands. I have nothing but positive things to say, and with every book, Amy writes I find myself getting more and more engrossed in her words.
I’m not sure if Amy Daws can top herself after this one.
I’ve been waiting for Gareth for a long, long time. And as much as I know I have one more book to really get the full Gareth affect, I cannot help but feel blown away by this book.
Gareth is the mysterious older brother to Tanner, Cam, Booker, and Vi. You just don’t know anything about him and it’s finally time to break the Gareth mystery.
Sloane is the perfect heroine. The dynamic. The push and the pull. The attraction. Wow. Just. Wow.
WOW, just WOW! This is the first book I have read by Amy Daws, but I can tell you it will not be my last! Gareth is one of the famous soccer playing Harris brothers and is the leader of the family and the man who holds them together. He lives on his own and although he is always willing to help his brothers or sister solve their problems, he prefers to live his life on his own terms and by himself. He has his inner demons that he is keeping contained, but when he meets Sloan, who has her own demons she is fighting, the attraction jumps from the pages. It can be read as a standalone, but I will be going back to read the other stories in the series. Great, strong characters, including the women and with enough heat to melt an iceberg, RUN and get this book….you will not be sorry. It is terrific!!!!
RATING: 4.5 STARS
Holy Harris brother! Surrender is book 4 and is a duet which means sadly cliff hanger but promise the book is wonderful and can be read as a stand-alone if you want to miss the yumminess of the other Harris brothers. Gareth is everything I expected, wanted and more. He is so serious and I’m glad we are getting to see the many layers of him. Sloan was harder for me to understand and like just because she seemed so weak at times when there is a strong woman right there. The rules seem simple but life is complex and I’m dying to get my hands on part 2.
Just when you think you have life all figured out, fate rolls in and knocks you on your butt. Gareth is the golden boy. Thanks to a career he loves, he’s managed to rise above the pain of his home life and create a name for himself. Sloan is a woman in transition. She’s getting back on her feet after a string of bad choice almost derailed her dreams. A new environment could be what she needs to move forward in her life. Neither counted on the hands of fate upended their new beginning. Will they survive the fall out? Surrender is surprisingly unpredictable. Like life the course is a bit bumpy, but totally worth the ride.
5 What a Cliffie Ending Stars!!!
If you’re a fan of Ms. Daws then you know Gareth Harris’s book has been a long time in the coming. We first met this oldest Harris brother in One Moment and literally from that moment I’ve been hankering for his story. As the oldest of the Harris siblings, he is the holder of so many secrets. He’s also been the one that has been there for everyone while growing up putting his own needs aside…except for when it comes to being on the Pitch. He took control of his footy career by changing teams several years ago, much to the chagrin of his father.
In this first book of this duet, we meet the beautiful, talented and single mom Sloan. She happens to be Gareth’s personal shopper/dresser and they’ve known each other for about three years. There’s been something lurking under the surface between them this entire time. And for reasons that nearly broke my heart, Sloan has not had the freedom to pursue any type of romantic relationship until recently and even now, she’s reluctant. BUT she’s got a douche of an ex-husband that at times I literally wanted to junk-punch!!
Well, when Gareth and Sloan finally give into their burning chemistry, they’re on FIRE!!! Together they’re so much better than apart. However, Sloan is very protective of her beautiful little girl Sophia and for good reason. So this is the area that Sloan holds back in and I could feel her warring with herself on how much she wants to move on with her life, but not risk anything that has to do with Sophia….oh there’s a story there and if you’re like me, you’ll be shaking your fist and cursing a lot at Callum and his mother!!
Not only do we get the making of a beautiful, hot and sexy love story, but we get some beautiful lookbacks from when our H was a child going through the unthinkable with his mother. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried on more than one occasion. Because we get these snippets we start to get some clarity as to the how’s and why’s of the Harris clan growing up.
This book is so beautifully written by Ms. Daws. I can feel her heart and soul in this book. While I’ve been looking forward to it, I’ve also been dreading it because it’s the end of an era with the Harris brothers. But don’t get fooled into thinking there aren’t surprises in this book…because OH SNAP!!!! There are some that will literally have your mouth hanging open AND saying “WTF????”
Thankfully Dominate releases pretty quickly after Surrender so we’ll get ALL THE ANSWERS!!!

Surrender… I’m all his!!!
I tried to hold off on Gareth’s story because I knew I would NEED the second part as soon as I finished part one! But the brooding, sexy, Older Harris brother kept calling me to him.
Amy Daws has created a series that brings together a family dynamic that you just can help but envy. But we never really knew all that it entailed until she brought us into Gareth’s story. The love the family has for each other starts to show just how deep it runs. And the new insight into their world pulls at your heartstrings and just keeps you there.
Living apart from the family doesn’t stop Gareth from being the strength behind the Harris family, but it does give him the ability to see things from afar… And also to keep part of his life to himself… At least until the Harris family gets too close!
Sloane dropped into Gareth’s life and took him by surprise. They quickly learned that there was something there, but they didn’t know what exactly to do about it. Their lives were both on a path of discovery.
Gareth & Sloan are truly one of my favorite pairings. Amy Daws brought together two people that compliment each other. They make the other better…
While it is hard to choose which Harris brother will be your favorite, Gareth has all the characteristics of what the Harris family has been known to be and he truly holds everyone together. I just can’t wait for the conclusion of this story… Even though it will bring a conclusion the the Harris Brothers books…
***I know this is a bit vague, but didn’t want to give anything away… You NEED to read it and fall in love with the mystery of Gareth!

Surrender is the first part of the final Harris brothers duet, and features Gareth and Sloan.
Gareth has always been an enigma and he’s the complete antithesis of his rowdy, outgoing, and outrageous brothers.
Gareth is a fascinating and complex character with more layers than an onion. Whilst his siblings are players on an off the field and the life of the party, he’s quiet, reserved, intelligent and craves his solitude. He’s ambitious, caring and loving. Having taken responsibility for his siblings at a young age, and circumstances meant that he grew up way before his time. There’s much more to this man than meets the eye.
Sloan hasn’t had an easy life and has been hurt and left vulnerable. Despite that she’s smart, strong, assertive, independent and determined to regain take control of her life.
Gareth and Sloan’s story is emotional, it’s one of loss, love and grief and their relationship is complex, but their chemistry is undeniable.
With the previous titles in this series, we once again see plenty of the Harris siblings, as they continue to endeavour to interfere in each other’s lives as much as possible.
This title ends on a cliffhanger and I am incredibly eager to see more of this pair and see how their relationship evolves from here.
Willing To Be Lead , , ,
This book, or I should say storyline, was not what I was expecting, in more ways than one. The Harris Brothers are men not to be taken lightly, so when the eldest brother, finally gets his novel you can rest assured it’s definitely a welcomed unexpected surprise.
Taking on most if not all the responsibilities from his family after his mother died, Gareth Harris has always had to be in and take control of situations. That especially includes his time on and off the field, after all he is practically the face of Manchester U football. So when a new stylist, named Sloan Montgomery, offers solutions to his quirks and awakens slumbering desires, Gareth decides he has to have her in his life. Sloan is stuck in a job in a country in a marriage she never wanted all for her family. So when Gareth enters her life and gives her a sense of control and its difficult to turn that kind of offer down. Only way both Sloan and Gareth can connect outside the secrecy of the bedroom is if they let down certain wall, but is the pressure of their real lives too much for each other?
Overall, OMG just some word of advice, perhaps don’t try and sneak in a chapter or two of this book while in traffic, because there are some scenes from the beginning that will definitely cause you to have an accident. Sloan and Gareth are magnetic together, knowing how to complete what the other needs. Gareth was always so strong for everyone else but needed to submit, while Sloan was always being forced into unwanted situations, she just wanted to finally have control given to her. It’s a rare dynamic to read about because so many novels are about the man taking control and the woman submitting. But Gareth was freaking hot taking orders yet still owning each command because that was what he too desired. Ugh and now I can’t wait to read the next novel which after you read that ending you’ll be just as anxious for the next novel too.
Okay, I have to admit that I have a Lady Boner for all things Amy Daws and the freaking amazing words in Surrender have reinforced that. Waiting for Gareth’s book has been trying on my precious Harris Ho heart but there were distractions (can you say Tires, Tires, Tires) to keep me occupied.
Gareth Harris is slow burn hot! With her words, Amy has given us a character that, while we got a preview of his intensiveness in previous books, is much more than we have seen in the earlier Harris Brothers books. The impressiveness that is Gareth, makes this story page turning.
Sloan is living a lie, not the life she wants. Gareth awakens in her something that gives her that which she didn’t even know she needed. But now that she has had a taste, she wants more. On her terms.
As Gareth and Sloan struggle to determine what they want, they take us for one interesting journey. With all kinds of twists and turns, Amy gives a story line that will have you “Wow-ing” from the start. And the cliffhanger at the end – Mind Blown!
Gareth may be the hottest Harris Brother yet. And I know I’ve said that every single time I’ve been introduced to another of these fantastic, athletic brothers. #HarrisBroHoandproud! But I always mean it. Every last Harris Brother is hot to the max, and I’ve yet to read one of their stories and not be left wanting more of this fabulous family. Gareth, the oldest of the five Harris siblings, is no exception. He’s the peacemaker, the fixer, the one that deals with all of his siblings’ problems, whether they know what he’s doing or not. And he’s exhausted from all the responsibilities and obligations he upholds for his family, and for his team as their captain.
Sloan Montgomery has been people-pleasing for years. Since her marriage began, since her move to England with her husband, since beginning a new career with new clientele. She does what she needs to for everyone, but no one listens to her.
No one except for Gareth Harris, who’s been a faithful client since they first met. They’re friends, of a sort, until her marriage finally crumbles around her, and the indomitable Gareth offers her something she didn’t even know she needed: surrender.
Turns out it’s something Gareth desperately needed, too, and while he pursues their connection, Sloan flees from it until she’s ready to break. They come to an agreement, because their baggage precludes anything deeper than what little bit of freedom they’re claiming in each other. But I’d surrender all there is between these two, or is their connection deeper than the limitations they’re putting on it?
Only time will tell.
Fair warning: this is an all-nighter, one that’ll leaving you wanting more the instant you try to put it down

Holy crap. What an intense ride.
I am late to this series. In fact, this is the fourth novel in the series of standalones about the Harris Brothers, and this is my first novel by Amy Daws.
Obviously, I have seen the books buzzed about, but I don’t know what stopped me from picking them up to read them. The opportunity to read this book came about and I decided I’d jump in and see what the fuss was about. Now I understand all the hub-bub. Ms. Daws has a unique style of writing that is witty, emotional and sexy as hell. I was enamored with these characters from the very beginning.
In this book, we get to know Gareth, the eldest Harris brother, a professional football (soccer for us American folks) player for Manchester United. He’s bearing the weight of life on his shoulders because of his career, but mostly his family of 3 younger brothers and 1 younger sister (whom you meet in earlier books).
He meets Sloan, a stylist whom he hires to help dress him and meet his needs for specific textures of fabric. They develop a friendship over the course of their working relationship. During this time, Sloan is married to a wanker (let me pretend to be British, okay?) and caring for their young daughter. After a couple of years, Sloan discovers her husband is a cheating scumbag who then proceeds to tell her they will get divorced.
Naturally, the ex-husband is a gem because he’s rich and has an uptight mother, and together they make life miserable for our heroine. Eventually they get divorced and share custody of their daughter, Sophia.
In a moment of anger and weakness, Sloan finds herself in a position to feel empowered by Gareth. It more than freaks her out and sends her running for the hills. A year goes by and they reconnect and come to an understanding of sorts… friends with benefits in a unique way.
I don’t usually cover so much of the plot in my reviews, but I was fascinated by how their relationship came to be…. sometimes I worry that there will be formulaic plot lines coming out… but this story felt different in a way and I was intrigued at how the story played out.
Sloan and Gareth definitely bring out the most interesting sides of each other throughout this story. For Sloan, it was definitely empowering from a female standpoint… For Gareth, I was feeling overwhelmed with feels for some things going through his brain and what he had to endure in his life that led him to his relationship with Sloan.
I feel like I am making no sense. Perhaps I should just sum it up here… This book takes you on a rollercoaster of feels… you care about this characters and want to see where they will go from here. This is the first book in a duet and I can say that it definitely ends in a cliffhanger. As soon as I finished I sent a message to Amy begging for the second book. Dominate will be released in two weeks… but two weeks will be torture while I wait for the outcome of these two amazing characters. Definitely a wild ride that had me swooning, laughing and fanning myself ALOT.
Gareth Harris. The man we have all been waiting for. The mysterious brother. The one who’s left us all curious.
It comes as no surprise that Amy Daws delivers a well written and extremely well thought out plot. She has you turning page after page leaving you with murderous thoughts when she leaves you on the last page…With a cliffhanger.
The story is achingly beautiful and I can’t wait for Dominate to hit my kindle.
Ok where am I going to start. This book had me so hooked I didn’t sleep that night, I had to finish it. Amy Daws is a author I have wanted to read, but haven’t till now. Let me tell you I have purchased everything in this series!!!
Now back to Gareth and Sloan. Wow what can I say this story is so suspenseful that I am in awe of Sloan. Sloan didn’t have a voice in her loveless marriage. Her strength was from her daughter and her business as a stylist to the wealthy. One fateful night it all came to end, but she still had a job. She had to deliver a custom suit to her favorite person, Gareth. Gareth doesn’t have many friends besides his family, he considers Sloan his friend. He noticed instantly something is wrong with Sloan, he prods her till she tells him. He comforts her in ways that they both can feel the energy.
These two play a strong essence of surrendering love and power. Sloan is given something she had never had, power. Gareth finally is given something he also has never had, comfort.

OH. MY. GOD.
OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD.
WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED.
You might know this is the first book of a duet, so you might know that this ends in a cliffy, but OH. MY. GOD. WHAT. A. CLIFFY. Get ready for everything! And I won’t say a word about, because SPOILERS HAHAHAHAH So don’t worry, I won’t give any. What I can say is that YOU’LL LOVE GARETH AND SLOAN!!! They are amazing!!!
Gareth was a big surprise for me. He is really an enigma, he is not what I expected and I’M 200% HAPPY WITH THE CHARACTER AMY CREATED IN HIM. And Sloan!! OMG!! Can I be her, please? Not only because It would mean that I get Gareth, but because she is a great character. She’s strong, and determined, and amazing. They together are THE BOMB!! I love that she made Gareth smile and laugh!! They bring the best of each other.
The audiobook is PERFECTION!! I love the duet narration, it makes the audiobook more entertaining. Will Watt, Piper Goodeve & Charlotte Cole made an excellent job. I love their accents, the pronunciation and most of all, the emotion they all put in their performances. My favorite is Charlotte. Her voice is soft and she did great both American and British accent.
But seriously, I can’t say much else aside from GO GET YOUR COPY NOW AND READ IT ASAP, and if you get the audiobook, even better. The second book, Dominate, comes really quick, so you won’t have to suffer a long cliffhanger.
If you’re like me and have been anxiously awaiting Gareth Harris’ story then believe me you will not be dissapointed! If you are just coming across this book then believe me, it’s a must read along with the other 3 in the series! Amy Daws has done a fantastic good and is giving Gareth the ending and closure he desearves!
