A sexy and intense standalone novel from a New York Times bestselling author. This book contains heavy subject matter and is intended for mature readers.Once, the only thing that mattered to me was football—training, playing, and earning my place on the best team at every level. I had it all, and I threw it away with a semester of drugs, alcohol, and pissing off anyone who tried to stop me. Now … stop me. Now I’m suspended from the team, on house arrest, and forced to spend six months at home to get my shit together. The cherry on top of my fuckup sundae? Sleeping in the room next to mine is my best friend’s girl, Mia Mendez—the only woman I’ve ever loved and a reminder of everything I regret.
I’m not sure if having Mia so close will be heaven or hell. She’s off-limits—and not just because she’s working for my dad. Her heart belongs to someone else. But since the accident that killed her brother and changed everything, she walks around like a zombie, shutting out her friends and ignoring her dreams. We’re both broken, numb, and stuck in limbo.
Until I break my own rules and touch her.
Until she saves me from my nightmares by climbing into my bed.
Until the only thing I want more than having Mia for myself is to protect her from the truth.
I can’t rewrite the past, but I refuse to leave her heart in the hands of fate. For this girl, I’d climb into the sky and rearrange the stars.

Great read!! Filled with angst and anticipation. True page-turner!!!
This was a good start to a great series. It wasn’t the best book of the series but it was worth the time it took to read it. The characters are likable and had a lot of issues that made you feel for them.
The structure, hopping from present to past and back, always annoys me and in this case provided a way to keep the pivotal plot point obscured until the final reveal. I liked all the characters, though, which is why I finished reading it.
Great character development. Complicated plot with a satisfying ending. Already purchased the next in the series.
This book haunted me but in a totally good way. I love the thriller of it! It’s just wow!
“I want the hope I feel when I look in your eyes. The feel of you in my arms. The forgiveness I don’t deserve. I want to go back to the day we met and kiss you-claim you before he can.”
Heartfelt and heartbreaking, Brogan, Arrow, and Mia create a painful love triangle that hypnotized me from the first word. So many underlying issues addressed, it was a beautiful reminder of how fate, mistakes, regrets, and youth play such a big part in how things end up. I hurt for these characters as if I was sitting among them, and I knew each one personally. The emotional upheaval they endure left me breathless and near tears quite often. It hurt my heart, this couple always dancing right out of reach of each other, attempting to overcome the mountain of obstacles in their path. A beautiful message of forgiveness transpired, and I was left with a memorable story that I encourage everyone to read!!

For a sports book, there’s actually no sports played within it. Arrow, the hero, is a football player who ends up under house arrest after a semester of drugs and alcohol. He lost control after his best friend was injured and left in coma. Adding to that, his best friend’s girl, Mia, has moved in to be a nanny to his younger sister. Both characters have faced a great deal of trauma throughout the book. Mia has been in a fog since the accident which killed her brother and injured her ex-boyfriend. Arrow is trying to deal of the guilt of his friend’s injury and attempting to resist his attraction to Mia at the same time. This book jumps between the present and the time before the accident. The time jumps allow the reader to more completely understand the relationship between Arrow and Mia. The attraction between them is burning but yet the past restricts their ability to be together. This was the first time I read a book by Lexi Ryan and it won’t be the last. I really enjoy books that make me cry and the emotional distress both characters experience certainly provoked tears.
Character development was really good. The people were believable and the ending wasn’t what you thought at the beginning.
Mia is a college student living with guilt because her brother was killed in the hit and run accident that left her boyfriend irrevocable injured. Arrow is a star athlete who went on a path of destruction after the accident. Mia and Arrow have always been drawn to each other. Can they heal each other too?
I really enjoyed this book. The story goes back and forth in time (which I usually hate) but it is done in a way that leaves you eager to get to the next page. The characters were flawed in a way that made them so real and relatable. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
I always love the way Lexi Ryan weaves a tale. Loved how it played out. Absolutely fell in love with Arrows story, nice little twists to this story.
Not my favorite Lexi Ryan book, but it was ok
Great read. Didn’t want to put it down, it kept my attention through the whole book.
It had depth of characters and strong plot.
I’m not a big fan of stories that jump around a lot in the story timeline. However, I did enjoy the book.
Arrow is reeling from all the changes going on in his life. He is on house arrest. He is in love with someone he has to see everyday. He cannot tell her how he feels. And it is killing him.
Mia has a lot go on as well. She took a job from her father’s enemy. She is trying to get through school. She is also dealing with the man who makes her hot sleeping next door.
These characters are really hot! This story makes me want to cry and scream all at the same time. I was pleased with the banter, heat and pace. I cannot wait to read more in The Blackhawk Boys series.
Immature and boring. Didn’t finish reading
Could not get into this book.
I was hooked right from the start. I usually gravitate toward books with more comic relief in them but this book started out strong with a mystery that I wanted to unravel and characters I really wanted to know more about.
WOW, What an outstanding, well written story and characters!! This is NOT your standard romance novel, this is such an original!! LOVED IT and Lexi Ryan’s writing! Cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
