SHANE MILLER SLEEP DIARY:Went to bed at: Late. How long it took to fall asleep: Forever. I have insomnia. Duh.Number of caffeinated beverages you had consumed: Zero. Thanks for advising me to quit!My stress level is off the charts. I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos. My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three … kind of chaos.
My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months,
so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life—
impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad.
My son won’t stop asking questions.
My daughter won’t brush her teeth unless I sing her showtunes.
Our regular nanny quit.
The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister.
If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.
Fresh out of grad school and beautifully weird.
She hates my movies, and my kids adore her.
I couldn’t sleep last night because she wasn’t here.
Turns out I can’t sleep unless she’s in my house now.
Turns out she’s what’s been missing from my life all along.
If my friend had any idea what I want to do to his gorgeous troublemaker of a sister,
he would smother me with a pillow.
The chances of us succeeding as a couple are about as good as that little indie movie
that I made being a huge hit.
But it’s a chance I’m going to take.

This was really funny and sexy! I love a good story about a single dad and this one was awesome!
Loved this book…sweet…funny..romantic…
Actor Shane Miller hasn’t had a good night’s sleep for more than five years. Now that his ex-wife is off to another country, his kids are staying with him and their nanny quit unexpectedly, sleep has become even more difficult to come by.
In an effort to help his sister Willa get a job and move out of his house, Nico Todd -Shane’s best friend- suggests that Shane hire her temporarily as his kids’ live-in nanny. What Nico didn’t know is that he’s practically throwing his sister into the arms of her teenage crush!
As it turns out, Shane has no trouble sleeping with Willa in his house; but then he realizes he wants her in his bed…
I LOVED this book! It’s one of the top ten books I’ve read all year! The characters are great- Shane is sweet, thoughtful, and an awesome dad; while Willa is smart, quirky, and great with kids. The chemistry between them is off the charts HOT!
This is a light, easy read with just the right amount of humor and heat. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Sleeper is a contemporary romantic comedy written in dual first-person POV. It’s a low-angst standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
Hands down one of my favourite books of 2019!!!
I absolutely fell head over heels in love with Shane, Willa and the twins!!! Best kids in a book!!
The story is amazing. Their love is amazing. It’s just an all-round perfect book.
Thank you, Kayley for sharing this with us! <3
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
I have never read anything by this author before and I highly enjoyed this romance. It is a standalone and is an actor/Hollywood leading guy romance with his besties little sister and nanny/boss romance.
The star of this story is Shane, a single dad of twins who he loves but who drive him crazy. He is low on sleep and his ex who he gets along with is off in Europe on location so he needs a nanny asap.
Enter his best friend whose sister is visiting and who was a nanny in Europe. Now she is in the United States and wants to launch her perfume company and needs a place to work on her scents and so her brother fixes these two up, with a job.
Willa met Shane when she was 12 years old and had a HUGE crush on him but in the years between he has married and had babies and also divorced. So when they start spending time together its Willa’s dream come true.
This was a very fun story. Technically it takes place in Malibu/Hollywood but we don’t really see that much of the typical scene. This is much more of a nanny/boss/single dad romance and its done really well and I loved it.
I was very intrigued by this book! This is my first from Kayley and far from my last! I enjoyed the banter between Willa and Shane. The chemistry between them was palpable and the slow burn was hot! The characters and their relationships felt realistic and I was very quickly lost in their story. I liked the unique jobs Willa was doing. I was intrigued by her perfume making. I enjoyed the kids she was taking care of. The story felt believable and I didn’t want the story to be over! If you like fun banter, sexy times and a sweet story, then this is one you don’t want to miss. Grab your copy today!
This made my inner teenager scream with envy!! I mean we all had that one actor/musician we crushed on hard when we were younger and dreamed of meeting, marrying and having babies with someday.. What Shane and Willa had was fate.. Sure she had an advantage due to her brother being on the same show and best friends with the guy still.. Willa was a blast to read! All her teenage dreams came true but they had to wait for it to happen. Shane is still in the industry but struggling at home. Him and his ex are friends, raising the kids the best they can despite being in other countries. He’s sleep deprived bad. With more projects coming up, he’s needing help with the kids. Willa is perfect option to help out. The kids love her, his ex and even her brother loves them together. It’s been a while since I’ve read a brother’s best friend/little sister romance where the brother was ok with it(sorry if I gave something away). This book was cute, the kids were cute and I loved the ending!!
This is a contemporary rom-com type of read and was my first book by this author.
Shane is a movie-star single dad of adorable five-year-old twins.
Willa is his best friends sister a perfumer by trade she also has had a crush on him for years.
So Shane is a bit of an insomniac and his nanny has left to get married on short notice leaving him in a pickle.
Luckily Willa has experience and is in need of a temporary job problem solved.
So this was an amusing easy read told in dual POV.
I liked both the main characters a lot they were both extremely likeable individuals.
The kiddies were a nice addition and Shane was a fabulous dad.
This was also well written and the pages turned easily.
This one gets a thumbs up from my camp it was a lot of fun.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Sleeper.

This is the first book from Kayley Loring that I’ve read but if they’re all like this then it won’t be anywhere near my last! I started off with a few rocky moments but before long I was just loving the characters & the story. My issues? The characters were quirky. Now, I know that I ended up loving that about them but initially, it was too quirky too quickly. Everyone was just adorable & I know it’s just a small thing, but a lot of books that I read that feature children has their dialogue being too ‘adult’ which doesn’t really convince me. This book got it spot on.
4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this one and I’m a sucker for a single dad romance. I loved Willa. Her weirdness was what I loved about her. Willa is so great with Shane’s twins. They made for some hilarious and sweet moments. The scenes with Shane and his twins were some of my favorites. Shane and Willa had great chemistry. This book had one of my favorite troupes as well brother’s best friend. This is a book you can easily get lost in. The characters just suck you right in. The humor in this was the icing on the cake for me.
Shane is a big time tv star. He and Willa met when she was 12 and he was 16 and starring in a Disney show with her brother Nico. Willa had a crush on Shane but she didn’t see him again. Now years later Willa is being a nanny to Shane’s 5 year old twins. Shane is attracted to the adorably awkward nerdy Willa. Willa tries to fight her attraction to him but fails with it. This was such as awesome story. Shane was a single dad with the craziness of twins and the hotness to make you sweat. Willa won the entire family over without even trying too hard. Loved it!
Shane and Willa

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy and my opinion are my own.
Mary Poppins new day with a Disney twist! Love it! In this story we meet the performer (Shane) and the perfumer (Willa) who both log a diary for two different reasons. It was nice to read the dual POV and diary entries cause some of those where pretty funny. Willa has always been quirky even when she met Shane years ago when her brother, Nico worked on the TV show with Shane. She is completely out of the Hollywood elements, but for some reason her weirdness works in the Miller household. Who knew that when it comes to insomnia, you just have a quirky perfumer stay in your house! HaHa Kidding aside this was a great build in story and something I could see occurring in real life Hollywood. This is my first read by this author and it won’t be the last one.
Well, Kayley Loring, I might be a little obsessed with you! Seriously, this author slayed this one! I only found Kayley Loring this year, yet she has written all my favorite books this year, and she is quickly moving up to the top of my favorite author list. She’s always consistent and this was no exception. This book was an absolute joy to read and I did not want to put it down at all!
Sleeper hits on a couple tropes: best friend’s little sister, Hollywood romance, and nanny/employer. But, it didn’t feel like too many tropes; it was the perfect way to explain their complicated relationship. Shane is a movie star, who once starred in a series with Willa’s brother, Nico. Willa met Shane when she was just 12 years old, in probably one of my favorite meet cutes. Fast forward 12 years later, Willa is a perfumer, who recently returned from living in Europe for 7 years, and is now living on her brother’s couch until she decides her next move. Shane is a divorced father of twin 5 year olds and after the nanny quits, he’s in desperate need of help. Willa and Shane have an uncomfortable yet hysterical reunion and she agrees to be his nanny for a couple months.
Willa is so awkward, so smart (I learned a lot about smells!), but makes hilariously weird comments when Shane is near. There were so many cheesy jokes and laugh out loud moments throughout the story. Shane is the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s an awesome Dad, just trying to survive twins, and he hasn’t a full night of sleep in 5+ years. All of the secondary characters added a lot of dimension to the story. I also loved that there was no major drama. This book was absolutely perfect, and I ended with a huge smile on my face. Can’t ask for more than that! Highly recommend!!
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Move over Keaton Bridges because Shane Miller just dethroned you as my favorite Kayley book boyfriend.
I loved Shane and Willa from the start. The Hollywood Star and the awkward, nerdy perfumer. Their initial meet cute was super awkward and hilarious and everything you would have expected from a young girl meeting her teenage crush. Flash forward many years and when they meet again it is just as amazing.
I loved the inner thoughts from both Shane and Willa throughout the story, it provided some additional insight into both of their characters. Plus, their chemistry was on FIRE. I loved how well they balanced each other out. Shane is super sweet and ultra swoony. Summer and Lucky, those two sweet adorable children. I even liked Margo, even though I really didn’t want to. Plus, Nico. (PS Kayley I really hope he is getting a book!).
If you love single parent/nanny romances with a little bit of movie star mixed in this is definitely one to check out. Just be ready for Shane, Willa, Lucky and Summer to steal your heart.
Sleeper is another AMAZING book by Kayley Loring and a MUST READ!
This book was so funny. These two meet the first time when she‘s 12 and he’s 16, she has a huge crush on him. Shane’s a big time tv star that works with her brother. Fast forward 12 years, she is back from overseas and ends up being a nanny for his 5 year old twins. And here is where all the fun really starts. Just too funny.
Willa is a quirky, adorably awkward nerdy girl, which I loved her character. Her awkwardness was the funniest and most endearing thing about her. He really got her, in a way that nobody else really could. His Shane Miller Sleep Diary and her Willa Todd Scent Diary, funniest things ever, they cracked me up and had me laughing so hard. This book had me laughing, crying and everything in between. It pulled at my heartstrings that they didn’t get together sooner, because they both clearly knew they were soulmates. Such a fun and great storyline. 2 epilogues and an hea. Kayley Loring is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, I would literally read anything she wrote.
Psst…kudos for using the phrase baby batter…lmao.
Every now and then I try a new to me author. Sometimes I’m pleased with the writing, sometimes I’m ehh about it but then I find a gem that I’m so glad I took a chance on that I’m ecstatic. Kayley Loring’s Sleeper is one of those gems.
Willa has had a crush on her brother’s co-star, Shane Miller since she was 12 years old. She met him once then life got in the way of her plans for happily ever after and he married and had children with someone else. Willa went off to Paris for school but now she has her degree in perfume design and she is back in L.A. Unemployed and living with her brother, life decides to toss Willa a bone and make Shane need a new nanny for his twins while his ex-wife is away filming.
This is a romantic comedy with straight-up laugh out loud scenes, and I mean I literally busted out laughing several times. Shane and Willa are sweet and sexy together with chemistry that is off the charts as they navigate both being wildly attracted to each other. First, they try to hide it then they try to hide it from the kids. Shane, a mega-star actor, is also a down-to-earth 28-year-old dad just trying to do the right thing for his kids while still maintaining an adult life. Willa is a quirky woman with a nose for scents and a solid plan for her career who never really got over her first love, even though he knew nothing about it.
A light-hearted, easy read that is all that a romantic comedy should be; full of humor, full of swoon, with a healthy dose of heat. Ms. Loring’s writing will grab you from page one and keep you turning page after page after devouring all that is Willa and Shane.
Shane is a teen movie star and Willa is infatuated. Flash forward many years later when they’re reunited. She needs a job and he needs a nanny. You can only guess what happens next. A good story that had a great storyline but also lots of steam. You can’t help but love the adorable kids and the sexy adults.
This was a super cute rom-com with a single dad and his best friends sister who turns nanny. It was light in drama, had great steam and a beautiful romance that formed and prevailed without much fuss. The kids were super adorable. They added a layer to the story and it made me smile. I won’t spoil the story but it has no triggers and just a perfect laid back read that will keep you entertained from start to finish. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Willa and Shane’s story is beautifully written and is sweet, humorous, entertaining and with love and undeniable chemistry, which all had me totally enthralled throughout this riveting tale. I highly recommend for all readers.
