SHANE MILLER SLEEP DIARY:Went to bed at: Late. How long it took to fall asleep: Forever. I have insomnia. Duh.Number of caffeinated beverages you had consumed: Zero. Thanks for advising me to quit!My stress level is off the charts. I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos. My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three … kind of chaos.
My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months,
so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life—
impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad.
My son won’t stop asking questions.
My daughter won’t brush her teeth unless I sing her showtunes.
Our regular nanny quit.
The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister.
If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.
Fresh out of grad school and beautifully weird.
She hates my movies, and my kids adore her.
I couldn’t sleep last night because she wasn’t here.
Turns out I can’t sleep unless she’s in my house now.
Turns out she’s what’s been missing from my life all along.
If my friend had any idea what I want to do to his gorgeous troublemaker of a sister,
he would smother me with a pillow.
The chances of us succeeding as a couple are about as good as that little indie movie
that I made being a huge hit.
But it’s a chance I’m going to take.

“Sleeper by Kayley Loring will forever be in my heart. This book wasn’t just perfect it was beyond incredible! Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright did an extraordinary narration of this story. Right after I started listening I was smiling and rolling myself for the laughter. Shane and Willa story is gonna capture you and leaving will be impossible. Both Teddy and Mackenzie brought every moment and emotion into life. Their voices fit perfectly Shane and Willa’s characters. I was completely hooked up by their voices and the plot.”
** Review based on the audiobook narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright. **
Sleeper is a romantic comedy that was a fun and engaging read and it held my interest from beginning to end. This single dad/ brother’s best friend romance had charming and lovable characters, witty banter, laugh out loud moments and some steamy scenes. It was a lighthearted tale with little angst and a couple of cute adorable twins. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to all lovers of romantic comedies.
I listened to the audiobook version of this novel which was narrated by McKenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton. These are two of my favorite narrators that can do no wrong in my opinion. Their voices were perfectly suited to the characters. They had great pace and timing and their voice were clear and understandable. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.
This was my first book by Kaley and I usually don’t read a lot of Rom-Com and this was so enjoyable!!
I’m such a sucker for Single Dad Romance and this checked all the right boxes.
Shane has gone through a divorce and is sharing custody of his twins when his ex-wife has to travel on location for a movie and his nanny unexpectedly quits. Deprived of sleep and keeping up with the twins he’s in desperate need of a replacement. Here comes Willa his best friend younger sister who he met long ago, not realizing all these years Willa had a crush on him and may still have one!
I love the banter between Shane and Willa and her quirkiness is just too funny! The twins are just adorable! If your into rom-com with a single dad as a bonus, you will totally enjoy this read!
****** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW ******
There are some audiobooks I listen to without headphones and such as I clean and do laundry. This is NOT one of those books! This book is super duper naughty so headphones are a must! There were so many times I cringed at some awkward hilarious scenes. I popped my head in the freezer several times to cool down because Shane and Willa are just insanely hawt!!!
So, saying that… these characters are seriously sweet and charming, they’re hilarious, and completely endearing. I love the way if feels like a couple falling in love and learning to live life. I love the way they stumble through and find their way. It had my heart swooning, gave me several surprise laughs, might have caused a few tingles in the Netherlands. Oh yeah… it’s worth the credit!!
Mackenzie Cartwright did a fabulous job as Willa. She sounds just as sweet as you’d expect but this little nose sniffer is a vixen! And Cartwright did a superb job playing her voice just right! Teddy Hamilton always perfects his men. Shane is tired but so…. up for a good time. He’s charming and you get that from the narration.
I listened to the audio book and from the very beginning I was already laughing and smiling. The story itself is written in such a way that you can’t help but be sucked into the story between Shane and Willa and the narrators just bring it all to life. A single dad needing a nanny quick and the one person that’s available happens to have had a crush on him for years. The chemistry is explosive. The narrators did such a great job with the characters. The inflection and the attitude and the banter and the voices, I was hooked and I had a hard time being able to stop listening.
4.5 Stars (audio review)
This was the perfect book for me to listen to this week. This is my first time reading a book by Kayley Loring and it won’t be the last. Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright do a great job bringing the story to life. This book put me in a good mood while listening to it.
For as long as Willa can remember she has had a crush on Shane. Their first meeting was she was 12 and knew they were meant to be together. Now they are grown, and Shawn is a single dad and he needs help. He is an insomniac and his nanny left him to get married. His twins are so cute. Being their nanny is the perfect temporary job for her while she gets her performer business going.
This was such a fun listen. I highly recommend this book!
Willa and Shane are what good dreams are made of. This was such a sweet brother’s best friend/nanny romance I had a goofy smile on my face while listening!
Shane and Willa’s story is sweet, fun, and beautiful. Shane, an actor and single Dad, is in need of a nanny. He is handsome, caring and protective. He is also Willa brother’s best friend. Willa, a perfumer, is a lovely woman, independent and smart. She has a crush on Shane since she was a teenager. They share an undeniable and strong chemistry. The twins are so cute, and fun kids! The supporting characters are great and interesting. I love the beautiful happy ending. Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright did a great job with the narration. I love their voices together. I enjoyed it!
The audiobook of Sleeper by Kayley Loring was so much fun to listen too. Narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright, they brought Shane and Willa to life for me and kept me captivated! Shane is in a bind. He is a single-father in need of a nanny. When his best friend’s sister comes back to town, it seems like the perfect solution.
Willa has always crushed on Shane, but that was in the past right? They were both great characters and very likable. They were great together, his kids were adorable and though he thought he should stay away, there was just something there that was too hard to ignore! Sleeper by Kayley Loring was the first book by Kayley Loring I have “read” but it will definitely not be the last. It was fun and sweet and I loved listening to it.
Happy listening!
Sleeper

Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton, Mackenzie Cartwright
Kayley Loring never ceases to amaze me with her books. Each time I listen to one propels me into the story and keeps me there until the very end, like I am hearing a story from my best friend. This one is one of my favorites. The single dad of twins, Shane in need of some help while his ex-wife is away filming a movie. When he meets up with his best friend, he finds his sister, Willa in need of a job with experience as a nanny. Willa has had a crush on Shane since she was 12, so this is no hardship for her! And it will give her time to build her perfume store on Etsy. And our romance begins. Single dad and best friend’s sister are two tropes I love. The chemistry between Willa and Shane is undeniable, the twins are adorable, but what really caught my interest were all the fun facts Willa would tell the twins to answer questions! Or how she concocted a mixture of fragrances! Or the way Shane would see her when she didn’t notice. It’s romantic, has laugh out loud moments, times of fear we have all had happen and a narration that just brings it all alive. It may be titled “Sleeper” but this book will not put you to sleep! It’s a wonderful book.
Mackenzie Cartwright is one of my favorite female narrators. There is something about her cadence and voices that I just love. She expertly connects with Willa and lets us see and feel all of her emotions, from being a kid infatuated with a star to her adult love. Teddy Hamilton is so easy to listen to. His narrations are so comfortable with his conversational style that I easily get lost with him while listening. Together they are magic and their storytelling brings it all out.

4.5 stars!
OMG, what a gorgeous read! Sweet, sexy and laugh-out-loud funny, this trope-packed delight of a read is a movie star, brother’s best friend, single parent, nanny/boss romance that is full of chemistry and fun moments, and I freaking loved it!
Willa fell in love with Shane Miller when she was 12 years old. He was 16 and the star of a tv show that also featured her older brother. They shared one moment that left its mark on the impressionable young pre-teen and ever since then no man ever measured up to her celebrity crush.
Twelve years later and Shane is a divorced dad of 5-year-old twins, and one of the hottest comedy actors around. He’s also suffering from terrible insomnia and trying hard to juggle his career and his kids with his lack of sleep. He needs help… fast. So, when his best friend Nico recommends his younger sister as a nanny, Shane is right on board. He remembers meeting Willa as a kid but they haven’t seen each other in the intervening years, and with one look at her all grown up, he is lust-punched, which makes things kinda awkward now that she’s living under his roof and an instant hit with his kids.
Willa has recently returned from studying perfumery in France and is looking to expand on her passion and build her career. A short-term gig as a nanny seems like a good opportunity to make some money and get herself sorted out, and the fact that she gets to live with the man she’s always obsessed over – who is more gorgeous than ever – is overwhelming in all the ways.
Shane and Willa together are absolutely combustible. Hot and flirty, they banter and tease, and there are steamy stares and all kinds of inappropriate monologuing. I laughed out loud so many times as they flirt, day dream and fantasise about each other, and the sexual tension builds brilliantly. And when they finally decide that they can’t hold off any longer… holy freaking hotness! The sexy time is sizzling, in a reflection of their mad passion for each other, and it sparks a relationship that is sweet and funny with plenty of cheesy, jokey moments – balanced with epic hotness, and I just loved seeing them together!
“Who’s got two kids, an erection, and just told your brother he’s falling for you?” He lets his boxer briefs fall to the floor and then points to himself with his thumbs. “This naked guy.”
Adding to the fun are Shane’s two kids, Willa’s older brother and best friend, and her outrageously hilarious grandmother. I love the relationships between the different characters – Shane and Nico are a lot of fun – and I’m looking forward to seeing more of this group with Nico’s story coming up in Charmer.
This book is a giant ball of fun. I laughed, I swooned and though I could have done with a little bit less detail when it comes to Willa and her scents, I fell in mad love with her, and especially Shane. He may be a single dad movie star, but he’s also just a regular guy trying his best, and the way that he and Willa literally throw themselves at each other is so entertaining to watch. They are honest, open and functional with very minimal drama, and this is an easy, angst-free read.
The audiobook is narrated by Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton, and they do a great job with it. They bring these characters to life with humour and charm, and you can’t help but love them. I highly recommend listening to this one!
A fantastic read, I loved it! 4.5 stars.
Sleeper is a sweet, single-parent romance. I’m a lover of single parent, nanny, and brother’s best friend romances so Sleeper was like finding a four leaf clover as it combined all these tropes into one story. I loved Shane and Willa. She’s so sassy and unique. Shane is the best daddy ever. He’s sweet, dedicated to his kiddos, and sexy as heck. I just love these two together. The story was sweet and sexy and only made better by the narration.
Narration was performed by Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton. Need I say more? This duo is one of my favorites and made Sleeper a breeze and joy to listen to.
A first but definitely not a last!
As a first, Sleeper was a fabulous way to pop my Kayley Loring cherry. The story of Shane and Willa is brought to life by Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright, especially in their performances of show tunes! (Obviously I ‘read’ this via audiobook! )
I loved the relationship that developed between Willa and the twins as well as the more intimate relationship between Willa and Shane.
All in all ‘Sleeper’ is sweet, funny and thoroughly entertaining!
This book was all kinds of cute. The characters, freaking adorable. I mean Willa in all her dorkiness is so unlike most characters I read about and Shane, well Shane is an incredibly devoted single dad with a great sense of honor, what more could you want, oh that’s right an insanely hot dirty mouth and a little bit of a possessive alpha male thing going on, but not at all in an overbearing, over the top way. Then you have the twins and seriously Sunny, omg she is the kid you laugh at but want to throttle at the same time. And Nico, oh Nico I have your book waiting in the wings for me but I had to read this first and I’m so glad I did.
So the characters are great, let’s talk about the awesome meet cute that hinted at insta love but took the characters 12 years to figure out. I have to listen to this book on audio now but first I have to read Nico’s book.
This book was adorable! I loved the narrators and Shane and Willa were so cute together. Shane was a child turned adult actor and it was refreshing to see him be all about family instead of women on rotation. I loved how Willa had a crush on Shane since she was 12 and how cute they were interacting with eachother. After all these years they were still drawn to one another. It was a steamy, quick light read.
4 stars for Sleeper by Kayley Loring. This is my first book from this author and I absolutely loved it. This is a single dad romance. The concept of this book was different from any I have read before. The idea of a sleep journal and a scent journal was extremely different. Shane Miller is famous actor, single dad, and insomniac. He is in need of a nanny and in comes his long time friend’s sister Willa. Willa and Shane meet many years ago and Willa had a huge crush on him , but that is over now or is it? Now she is going to work for him. The chemistry between these two just jumps off the pages and hits you in the face. I love when that happens in a story and this story has that. This is a great rom-com and if you love that genre then this is a book for you .
I really loved this story. It was funy, sweet, and sexy. I definitely recommend this book and this author.
Such a cute read. I loved the characters, the pace of the story, everything about it. The style of writing was very amusing and the plot was well-developed with no unnecessary drama. Perfect!
I have a hot single dad and little kids who steal your heart, what more can I ask for?
I wouldn’t mind reading a bit more of these characters in the future.
I’ll definitely check more Kayley’s books out.
I. Loved. This. Book…..Where do I start?
Back and forth POVs, dialogue so witty that I’m looking at Hubs and wondering why he’s so dull (he’s not, but compared to Shane most guys are….), characters that are both realistic and whimsical, wrapped up in a storyline that sizzles with sweetness, sass, and humor.
Who knew insomnia could be so much fun?
If you are looking for your next read, this is it. Kayley Loring is one of my favs and she’s outdone herself. My re-read started immediately and I’m standing by waiting for Nico’s story.

Sleeper was the perfect blend of Hollywood fantasy, romance and fun. The characters were lovable and surprising. I would also give it a bonus star for all the perfume research if I could.
