They thought their troubles were over … but they’ve only just begun. For Neve Hall and Micah Ward, the New Republic has always represented more than its legends of snowflakes and butterflies. It has also meant hope—and the freedom to love. But reality differs from their dreams. Living in a shelter for refugees, the pair must convince their immigration case manager that they are worthy of … worthy of citizenship. Failure means deportation back to the Nation—and their deaths.
But assimilating isn’t easy—especially when tensions between the Republic and Nation flare. Before long, Neve and Micah find themselves at the epicenter of the conflict, kidnapped and held hostage by Sans Murs, a group of radicals who won’t surrender until the Nation meets their demands. Sans Murs has named its terms, but the Nation has one of its own: Micah’s return. Torn between two worlds, are they fated to unravel?

Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2)
By Amanda Marin
5 out of 5 stars
The story Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2) by Amanda Marin is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is the second book in a series, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. It pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself lost in the story. I loved reading about Neve Hall and Micah Ward. Neve is a young woman who is intelligent, strong, and in love with Micah. Micah is a young man who has survived a lot. He is haunted by the past. When he and Neve find themselves in the New Republic, they believe that they will be safe in a land that will be wonderful to live in. What they find is different than they imagine. They find themselves having to prove that they are worthy of citizenship. Not only that they find themselves in the middle of things when tensions rise between the Republic and the Nation. What will happen to them when they are kidnapped by a group of radicals? What does the future hold for Neve and Micah? Read this book to find out. I loved Neve and Micah in the first book and loved reading about them again in the second one. I can’t help but root for them to find happiness. This book had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. The author does a wonderful job in world-building and I felt like I was right there with Micah and Neve. There are other characters that I enjoyed reading about. Some of them are helpful to Micah and Neve, others seem to have their own agenda. This is a series that I would read in order so that you fully understand the storyline. This is a book and series I would recommend reading.
A beautiful, emotional continuation of the series. Just when Neve & Micah think life is finally everything they want- things go very wrong. They are held against their will as the 2 factions posture and make irrevocable and impossible demands that either way will destroy the couple. Written with sensitivity and emotion, the book builds and the reader is completely engrossed in the story. This book may be even better than the first which msjes it more than a five star rating! Wonderful dystopian fantasy novel that works on every level!

Sea to Sky (Crimson Sash #2) by Amanda Marin
As the second book of the Crimson Sash Series by the lovely Mrs. Marin she’s outdone herself. This follows Neve and Micah on the journey. Being to a new country will do things to you. Follow them on the journey of loss, tragedy, and love.
Neve has come to accept that things are different. What she doesn’t realize is that her and Micah are different as well. She helps Micah come to terms with something that has happened. The quote I choose for Neve is: “All right—I stand corrected. It’s going to be your best yet, I think.”
Micah is hurt and not just physically. Things seem to be getting worse, but Neve is there. Things don’t always last, but they always get better in the end. The quote I choose for Micah is: “You shouldn’t have to take care of me …I wish you could go back to Bristol, with your comfortable life and your family, but you can’t, and it’s my fault. Every day I hate myself for having asked you to lie to Isla that day we met. You gave up everything for me, and I’m not worth it. If I’d known …I’d take it all back to spare you this pain. I wouldn’t make you suffer with me.”
If you’ve read North to Nara then this is the book for you. I do highly recommend this book for anyone.
I started reading Sky to Sea almost as soon as I’d finished the previous book in the Amanda Marin’s Crimson Sash series. I’m totally hooked! It’s an engaging dystopian YA story that engages with loads of big social issues in a well-developed world.
Sky to Sea opens with Neve and Micah safely over the border. They’ve left the Nation that has tried to break and kill them behind, and are eager to start a new life in the New Republic. But they face challenges as they must prove their eligibility for immigration, or successfully claim asylum. There are language and culture barriers, skills that were in demand in the Nation that have no use in the Republic. Not to mention the hostility towards people from the Nation meaning that Neve and Micah never quite feel safe.
Something I particularly liked about Sky to Sea is that it addresses Micah’s PTSD. After all that he endured in the previous book, he has deep wounds that require time, care and expert help to heal. Marin approaches the subject in a sensitive and clear manner. We see Neve and Micah recognising and accepting Micah’s PTSD, and Micah’s journey through treatment. I really appreciated his use of art to process his experiences.
This is a great series! Definitely gets five stars from me. I would recommend reading it in order, starting with North to Nara, as this allows you to get to know the characters and the Nation (and the books are so good you’ll want to read them all eventually, so you might as well start at the beginning!). This is a great series for young adult and older teen readers who are concerned about social issues and enjoy speculative fiction.
This is the second book in this series. The story is about Micah and Neve, who have fled their dystopian homeland (The Nation) to what they hope is a safe haven for them (the Republic). There they have to prove themselves to be of value to gain citizenship, or else risk deportation and certain death.
I love this author’s writing style. It’s fluid and ornate, if that makes sense. The story reminds me a bit of The Hunger Games and the Handmaid’s Tale; it’s a similar sort of dystopian setting. My heart twisted at the realistic depiction of immigrants and refugees. Highly recommend reading this book.
Sky to Sea: Crimson Sash Book 2, by Amanda Marin was a very good read. It was reflective of our society at this time in our country and the different feelings and attitudes about immigration. I enjoy books that reflect on our present society it helps to understand or consider a perspective that you may not have considered before. And it’s just a good story. The relationship between Neve and Micah is fragile and strong at the same time. Their struggle to help each other in the best way that they know how is a wonderful story. This book is a great read all on its own but if you haven’t read the first in this series North to Nara: Crimson Sash Book 1, you should. The background story will double your reading pleasure for this one.

“They thought their troubles were over … but they’ve only just begun.”
Wow, Such a great book that pulls you in and makes you fall in love with the wonderful Characters. I feel like readers of any age will love this book. This book is the second in the series sadly I didn’t read the first and now I feel I must read the first book as well. Such a great writing style and character building. Mrs. Marin has an amazing way of bringing you into the story as you read your emotions pour out of you as you read each page. I’m excited to read more from her!
Sky to Sea was an incredible, heartfelt novel! There was so much involved in the novel (I won’t go into details because spoilers) that ring so true with society today. From forbidden love, to different nationalities, and mental illness, this novel touches on so many topics that are relevant today in real life. I didn’t read the first novel, but this one grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t let go. I couldn’t stop reading it! I can’t wait to read the first one and the last one! I highly recommend this novel, it is also fitting for any each, young adult to adult.
Sky to Sea: Crimson Sash- Book 2
by Amanda Marin
I really loved this, I think I even liked it more than the first one which is saying a lot because I loved the first. Micah and Neve are such strong and wonderful characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. In this book there are some mental issues dealt with that was written so well. There are other great supporting characters as well in this dystopian fantasy book. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this story except to say that this series is a must read and I cannot wait to read the next book!!! This author did an exceptional job writing an amazing story, I highly recommend this book.

Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2) By Amanda Marin
Sky to Sea is the second book in Crimson Sash series by Amanda Marin. I do recommend reading this series in order as it will give you better enjoyment and help you understand what is going on. I pretty much stayed on a emotional rollercoaster ride throughout this whole book. Once I started reading I had a hard time putting it down. This story is about Micah, and Neve who is trying to prove themselves to gain there citizenship. Something’s are not easy. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next . Find out what happens next. Do they gain there citizenship? What does their future look like? I highly recommend reading this Book and I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

WOW!! I loved the first book of this series but I think this one was even better, I have become so emotionally invested in all of these people …I’m not normally a huge dystopian fan, and also not a huge YA fan, but let me tell you if taking YA and dystopian and throwing them together gives me this? Im sold. Throw in some awesome clean romance and I’m done.
Not sure how to explain this author’s style of writing except smooth and with feeling because I felt it all. I’ve even got the whole picture of their room, the park, everything described in this story I saw it clear in my mind. I was literally transported into the story. It was awesome!
Neve and Micah might just be 2 of my favorite characters ever. They were both just so sincere…I just can’t say enough about this whole book. Simply amazing! You truly have no idea what is going to happen or why from one page to another and I could not put it down!
This is a continuing storyline, although it may be possible to read this as a stand alone i do not recommend it and it’s so good you won’t be sorry reading them in order. It does not end in a holy moly throw your kindle kind of way, but does end where you feel like you wont make it till the next is released. Not sure what is in store for Neve and Micah but I know I’ll be one of the first in line to find out!!
LOVED IT!!
OMG this author is amazing! She makes me really *feel* the emotions of these two. I am totally involved in their plight! I want them to have a hoppy ending. Just not sure that is going to happen. So every time it goes south for them…my heart plummets I am scouring my mind to see what can be fixed or changed so that doesn’t happen. Then everything just seems to go right and my heart soars! Happiness! But inevitably down… down we go again.
If you can’t tell I really empathize with these characters. The writing is so smooth I can’t believe how easy I get caught up into this story. The characters draw me in and really don’t let go. I think about them even when I’m not reading. I love these two!
The next installment of Ms. Marin’s Crimson Sash series didn’t disappoint! I enjoyed Sky to Sea just as much—maybe even more—than North to Nara. Neve and Micah are back, facing another set of challenges, ranging from PTSD and acclimating to their new home, to getting mixed up with an anti-Nation activist group that plans to use them as political pawns. Throughout it all, their love is tested and remains strong. Ms. Marin’s writing is beautiful, and she’s truly able to capture the heartache and romance. Neve and Micah feel like real people, and my heart was pounding toward the action-packed ending! I can’t wait for the next book!

I remember when I read the first book in this series and the authors writing almost sang to me off the pages, so I have to admit I was really looking forward to reading the next book in the series and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Again the authors writing was such a pleasure to read, the storyline had a lovely flow to it. I love Neve and Micah, they are just such lovely and genuine characters and I enjoyed following their journey. The authors beautiful descriptive language made me feel like I was right there with the characters experiencing some of the scenery and things that they were. Dystopian reads aren’t usually my go to genre but I am really enjoying this series! Sky to Sea should be read following the first book North to Nara as it is a continuation of that story – both wonderful reads and I don’t think readers will be disappointed at all!!
Sky to Sea: Crimson Sash- Book 2 by Amanda Marin
4 of 5 Stars
Sky to Sea is book 2 in Marin’s ‘Crimson Sash’ series. It continues the story of Neve Hall and Micah Ward which began in the first book, ‘North to Nara’. It is set in a dystopian world with two waring factions the ‘New Republic’ and the ‘Nation’. Neve and Micah find themselves in a refugee shelter trying to convince the immigration officials that they are worthy of citizenship to the ‘New Republic’ but as a Sufferer, an empath Micah is wanted back by the ‘Nation’. Torn between the two places the couple find themselves in the middle of conflict and are kidnapped and held hostage, but underneath it all they just want to be together and find the freedom to love as promised by the New Republic. Sadly for the couple the myth and fantasy is not like the reality.
I loved Neve and Micah, I found the couple likeable, realistic and ‘normal’ in this dystopian world. I was cheering them on throughout the book and I really cared about their outcome.
This is a well written book with a solid storyline, great characters and it moves along at a fast pace. I was gripped from page one and found myself immersed in Marin’s dystopian world.
Although this is book 2 of a series, I read it as a stand-alone book and was able to enjoy it and understand the storyline, however I think if I had read book one, I would have had more of the characters backstory and their reasoning behind certain decisions they made. I am keen to read, ‘North to Nara’ now.
Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2) By Amanda Marin
4-Stars
Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2) By Amanda Marin was an interesting and fascinating read. The author transports readers to another world. It was fascinating to me to read how the world was divided and the different types of governments that existed to rule. The Nation sounded like a cruel and terrifying place to live. I was shocked with the horrors Micah and Neve were forced to face before escaping. The story begins with them at a refugee camp trying to attain citizenship ship in the New Republic. This was definitely a book I don’t usually read and I enjoyed it.

4 Stars!!!!
It is one of my favourite things discovering a new author. This is the second book in the series but my own habit first book I have read by this author and this series. I didn’t find it hard to follow the story and was totally engrossed in the book. I find the author’s created world very interesting and unique. I like the romance undertone to the book and the bits of drama that unfold through the whole book.
Neve and Micah’s forbidden love is just such a heart gripping part of the story. The drama that they went through to get where they are and the drama that follows on. I really found that the world the author created could in someways mirror reality now a days. I found myself really drawn to Micah’s character and the traumas he endured all because he dared to love. I just could not put this
book down and I will definitely read more from this author and this series in the future.
This is the second book in the series and I highly suggest reading the 1st one b4 this one because there is so much going on I think it is needed to have the best reading experience. I was pulled in from page one and I couldn’t put it down. The author has a good writing style and I thought all of the characters were awesome. I would recommend this to a friend and I am looking forward to reading more by this author!
Happy Reading!
Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2) By Amanda Marin. This is the second book in this series and I really think you should read the first one to really get the story. I’m not a huge fan of this genre but I loved this book. Its the story of Neve Hall a strong, independent young woman and Micah Ward a young man that has been thru a lot. They find themselves in the New Republic and think they are home free but in reality they are having to prove themselves worthy of being citizens there. They must convince the Immigration Case Manager that they will be productive citizens to the New Republic. Neve and Micah find themselves at the center of a battle when tensions occur between the New Republic and the Nation. They are kidnapped and held hostage and until the Nation meets their demands they won’t be released and one of the demands is Micah must return! This is a wonderful book that will keep you turning the pages. Read it to find out what happens to Micah and Neve! You will love it!
Sky to Sea is the second book in the series, Crimson Sash by Amanda Marin. I would highly recommend reading the first book, North to Nara to enjoy Sky to Sea fully. Marin has created a beautiful world for the backdrop of this dystopian book. Her characters just fly off the page. This story is about Neve and Micah. They are living in a shelter for refugees as they are trying to get citizenship before they are deported back to the Nation.I have found myself flipping through the pages as I wanted to know what lies ahead for Neve and Micah. It was a roller coaster for sure. I love the twists and turns. What will happen to Neve and Micah? Will they be trapped in between the worlds or will they be able to gain citizenship to live in New Republic?
