Tonight there is gonna be a jail break! That song jept running through my head while I was reading this book. There are fae and shifters and others in a prison which holds the children of lawbreakers. The children are innocent, but being punished for the crimes of their parents. This is the story of how that turns out. The characters were well developed and likable. The story was a good one. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

A totally new fantasy world, that I thoroughly enjoyed. I’ve read some books by this author and she never disappoints. I look forward to reading more from her in the future. I also see myself re reading this in the future. The characters are fantastic and loveable. The story is unique and awesome. Action, drama, and romance all rolled into one. I recommend for mature readers, due to scenes that may be disturbing to some.

Book two was enthralling, a page turner and action-packed. The King adds another bill that is worst then the first. Ally, Gray, Charlotte, Cassia and Prince Paxton have to rally the prisoners and plan a break out. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, I loved the ending. Cannot wait for the next book. I would recommend this book to all.

Just when you think you have things figured out, a plot twist is thrown in. I really believe the world exists as Mary has a real talent of story telling.
You find yourself trying to figure out the outcome and it is always different than what you think.
With interesting characters and a well developed plot – this series is a must read.

This book may have been better than the first! I don’t even know!! Book 1 was a wild emotional ride and a fantastic way to introduce characters while still leading us toward the plot. Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off and I love the directions of the story, I love how the characters fit together and how their story lines develop. Arly is an amazing character and I cannot wait to see how book 3 turns out!!

Sins of the Mother is an epic continuation of this series. Anyone who’s ever been bullied can relate to our heroine, Arlanna. And will a love triangle strengthen or destroy the team? Definitely worth the read!
Title: Sins of the Mother
Author: Mary E. Twomey
Genre: Fantasy Romance
**Received ARC for HONEST REVIEW**
Very interesting and great middle to move the story along. We learn why Arlanna and Paxton were truly kept apart. The writing was much more emotional this time around. And the characters are really starting to navigate personal relationships. BUT, the title is Sins of the Mother which refers to a new law/bill passed. My issue is it really isn’t brought up until towards the end and then not a lot is done with it as far as the storyline. As important and scary as this law is and it should play a big role in the storyline it should take up more than the last third of the book. It didn’t even really take up a third.
I am looking forward to book 3. I need to know what happens.
“She went from one prison to another, yet has the grace to think of my pain.” – Prince Paxton
Completely at a loss, Prince Paxton finds himself incarcerated at Prigham’s for his father’s sins. Paxton is quickly assigned to the same cell as Arlanna, Gray and Cassia, and again, finds himself at a loss. Whatever was once between him and Arlanna has obviously been forgotten by Arlanna. When Arlanna offers to “free” Paxton, he refuses… And discovers secrets he never imagined possible.
“That, right there. That’s the reason no one in here wants to talk about why they’re here. You’re looking at me and seeing a rapist. No matter if I’m inside of Prigham’s or outside, I’ll always pay for my father’s sins. That’s the beast in all of us.” -Grayson
As Paxton learns of the horrific crimes each innate has been accused of, he understands better the despair and frustration that each inmate shares… But still doesn’t understand the intense hatred being directed at Arlanna…
“I have one full breath between me and my panic, which is far more than I had a minute ago. Perhaps that’s all I needed— one full breath.” – Arlanna
The longer that Paxton and the others are incarcerated, the more abuse Arlanna undergoes. But things go from bad to worse, as news from the outside reaches their ears, of a new bill being considered, one that will shatter their lives…
“In this moment, I truly hate my father, and will never be able to forgive him for this particular sin. The world is about to drown, and he’s the one shooting holes in the last remnants of our hope.” – Paxton
Another “I can’t put it down” read from the incomparable Mary. E. Twoney! Can hardly WAIT to see what happens next!
I definitely loved this book #2 as much as I loved the first one! This was a absolute joy to read. It had love, suspense, and thrillers almost on every page. The characters just keep going on with new facts about what makes them tick. I love it. Everyone shows explosive emotions and actions! This saga will continue to get better and better with each book and I fall more and more in love with it! Now I want to read every book from my new favorite author!!

This book was just what I was hoping it would be. Arly, Gray, Paxton, Cass, and Charlotte do it as a family together. I don’t like to put spoilers in my reviews because ai want people to have fresh eyes and mind going in. Just know it is worth a read. Love Mary E. Twomey, she paints a beautiful story in every book she writes. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved the book!! It had great suspense and I love the writing. I am already anxiously awaiting the next book! Love the characters and I enjoyed reading thru Paxton’s viewpoint as well. I’m not usually a fan of that but it really works and adds to the story here.
I also really appreciate the rallying against social injustice. I was connecting so many themes of this book to real life as I was reading it. Just made me enjoy it all that much more.

Just Wow
For me this book started slow then it picked up the pace and I am so glad it did as I thought about putting it down. The characters are a little fuzzy in my mind with their descriptions but their actions are very clear cut and the loyalty that is among this is unmatched. They never leave a man down.
So by the time I read to the end the more I wanted of the story.
The author has a mean streak so watch for the end of this book and follow the instructions.

Arlanna is still serving time for her father’s crime, but there are stirrings of people wanting to oppose this corrupt system. Can Arlanna and her cellmates get out, before another crazy bill is passed to ruin their innocent lives even more? How might things change if another powerful son joins them in prison? I loved these loyal crew (Arlanna, Grey, Charlotte, Cass and Paxton), who are so different, but striving for the one goal and how exciting, page turning, dangerous, and angst filled this new addition to this series is, and can’t wait to know what happens next.

I loved this book. It’s the sequel to Sins of the father and I couldn’t put it down. Arly and all the other characters are original and I highly recommend that you check it out. You won’t be disappointed except for the fact that you are done. I can’t wait till the next one comes out.
A super exciting second installment in the “Sins” series. The characters are so fully developed that it’s impossible to not want more. Gray becomes even more exceptional (if you can believe it) with each book. Excellent, Super fresh story line. This will be a definite reread series for me.
