Sweet, sexy, with a side of adorable!
Ryder has come to Lakeside w his adorable daughter to try and get himself back on track and back to the city. And on his first day there he meets the woman who will chance that plan. Valentine has come back to Lakeside to lick her wounds and save up enough money to get back out of town. She & Ryder have instant chemistry. And the fling they start quickly evolves. She’s fiesty, independent, and loving. He’s kind of lost and broody. He finds happiness again. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Couldn’t finish. Poor storyline.
Two-stars, I’m being generous. I’m not even really sure why I didn’t DNF it. The H/h were extremely immature and really had no hope of growing up at all throughout the course of the book. There were some funny moments and Minnie was adorable. Other than that? Meh. I wouldn’t bother.
When I got this book by Amelia Wilde it was called “Over Easy.” Good thing I got curious about “Single Dad’s Waitress” and looked up what it was about or I might not have found the book book I just got done reading.
This was a cute, sweet, and charming journey to go on with Ryder, Valentine, and Minnie. I adored this book.
It was a page turner that had a Realistic storyline. I really liked the humor, the kind of things that happen or happened to every single one of us. I just wish it was LONGER!!! That it went into more depth, possibly a sequel? This storyline could have delved even farther into the lives of a Ryder & Valentine & the cutie patootie Minnie.
Was a great book, great storyline. Every woman needs a friend & the love of her life just like THIS.
This book was cute. It was an enjoyable romantic story.
It was ok. Had hard time finishing it. To slow for my taste
I just finished reading this book and I absolutely loved it!
I really enjoyed reading it.
Easily to read, heart warming book.
Good story line, but the story went so slow
Valentine has returned home to lick her wounds and recover from a disastrous break-up. Ryder is back in town just for the summer to regroup and focus on his young daughter. The two are sure they aren’t looking for anything more than a fling, but sometimes more is just meant to be. Of course, more is often not meant to be easy, and it’s often at the cost of some heartache.
This is a charming love story, filled with laughter, a few tears, lovely steamy passion, and a delightfully precocious little girl. It’s an entertaining, extremely enjoyable, fast-paced read, which you will find difficult to put down. I highly recommend this very appealing romance!
I really loved this book! I loved the characters, and the storyline!! I loved the flow of it as well, until Chapter 48 and then it was a bit confusing as a random person showed up with their own chapter. But all in all I Loved it!!!
I really enjoyed how Ryder and Valentine met, their backstories, which they are both fresh out of hard relationships.
Val’s come back home to work at the diner, while Ryder has come to Lakewood to work with his brother and is trying to find balance with that and his daughter Minnie.
He meets Valentine, and even though they both think it’s just a fling, their hearts know better.
In comes trouble with a capital T, and Ryder goes off, and not thinking about asking Val about what happened. OH I HATED HIM SO MUCH AT THAT POINT!!! Ryder that is!
Val did get on my nerves a bit cause she kept comparing Ryder to Conrad, and she couldn’t see that she was doing it. I wanted to shake her and scream at her that Ryder was NOTHING like him!
Can Ryder and Valentine make it work?
How does Minnie play into their relationship?
Can Val see the light in the end to make things work with Ryder and realise that Ryder is NOTHING like Conrad!?
Some of my fave quotes from the book
1. I rolled my eyes at her. ” I am not waiting for him to show up.” I completely was. – Val was so waiting for Ryder to show up again at the diner.
2. I told him I wanted him to mow the lawn shirtless. I told him that. I spoke those words out loud with my mouth. – I wanted to see him shirtless while mowing the lawn too!
3. I’m standing outside the door with a black, lacy, strapless bra on, telling Ryder that I’m ready to go out on a date. – ROFL!! I died laughing cause Valentine had no clue she was like that.
love the book
Both of them have had a hard time with love but the truth behind the story is there is always some madness in love but there is also always some reason in madness. This is the reason I love this book as much as I do because it is a look of real life for people.
This book was ok. The sex wasn’t hot enough, the characters were whiny and the story was slow. I finished it but I could of just as easily put it down and walked away. Give it a shot though, maybe it just wasn’t for me.
Two broken hearts healing in a small town. Little Minnie is absolutely adorable and she has one dedicated Daddy. Valentine is down on her luck. Neither is looking for love. Really sweet read.
Sadly, I just could not like the characters.
I love the story, but the ending kinda just stop went into another story. I thought at first the next story went into their story but it didnt. It was a bummer! What happen at the end of the last 3 chapters?
