Luke wants Sabrina to be the star of his new movie. Ben is hired to get Sabrina into movie shape for the role. If you have read all the With Me In Seattle books you will recognize the movie as the one Lexi and Shawn wrote in Imagine With Me. You don’t need to read the other books to follow along with this one, but you would have more background on the side characters if you do read them in order. I loved Ben and Sabrina together, but I really hope Zane gets a book too. He ended up being my favorite character in this one. I do wish it was a little bit longer but I know all the Dark 1001 Nights books are on the shorter side.
You need to read the series!
Sabrina Harrison had been out of acting and Hollywood for over ten years when she was offered the role of her lifetime. She needed to get in shape for the character and the studio hired gym owner Benjamin Demarco for the job.
Sabrina had met the most gorgeous guy of her dreams and Ben realized she was more than a pretty face!
You need to read the With Me in Seattle Series because that are all the character are interrelated between family and friends.
I have one complaint…the book is too short!!!! I know it’s a novella but I love Ben and Sabrina! Sabrina agrees to perform in a movie but needs to get in shape and her new trainer is HOT! They are so cute together and they just fit together! Sabrina not only gets in amazing shape for her movie but for her new life!
I discovered Kristen Proby when I read COME AWAY WITH ME, the very first book in her With Me In Seattle series, back when the romance craze was new. Fifteen books later and I’m still in love with the world that she’s created with these books, the characters both belovedly familiar, and each addition that comes along.
SHINE WITH ME is a novella, so a snack-sized portion of the Seattle goodness, but is fulfilling in every way. Ben and Sabrina are perfect for each other, and I was delighted to see that faces that I’ve loved for so long were along for the ride as their relationship unfolded (Extra extra points for this story, because Luke Williams, my most favorite of all Proby men, makes an appearance, along with some of my faves from the early days.).
There’s plenty of passion and a misunderstanding or two, all of which make SHINE WITH ME another bright point in my reading year, and a great addition to this beloved series. Fans of the Seattle Montgomerys will love this book, and those that are new to Kristen’s books will enjoy it just the same…plus have some incentive to start from the very beginning. Either way, this book is too good to miss, so grab your copy and enjoy.
What a fantastic read!! I love this author and I love this series! I know when I open a book by this author that I will not want to put it down! And I did not! Inhaled in one sitting, giving me ALL the FEELS!!
I enjoyed Kristen Proby’s “Shine with Me” tremendously. Main characters Ben and Sabrina (aka “Rina”) were both quite likeable and relatively well-developed considering the story’s short length. I appreciated how open Rina was about her past struggles with anorexia and body image, and while she was excited about the opportunity to return to acting, she did not want to have to starve herself to fit into Hollywood’s ideal. As a passionate advocate of health and wellness, Ben took Rina’s concerns seriously as he helped her prepare for her role as an FBI agent in pursuit of a serial killer. I loved how dedicated he was to building his business and was also very impressed by his willpower when it came to sweets – no way would I be able to turn down cupcakes the way Ben did several times over the course of the story!
Rina and Ben’s chemistry was intense from the very beginning and while their relationship grew quickly, it never felt like insta-love to me. They had to spend a lot of time together to achieve Rina’s training goals in only 6 weeks, so it made sense that they would get to know each other quickly. Rina fit in very well with Ben’s friends and family, which undoubtedly helped. I enjoyed seeing her interact with characters from several of the earlier books in the series as well as her friend Zane, the famous actor. Zane’s behavior with Rina was so silly and goofy at times that it was tough to believe he was an A-list heartthrob! I’m excited to get to know him better when he is featured in his own story next year.
Overall, “Shine with Me” was a fun, quick read that I recommend for all fans of contemporary romance. I look forward to whatever Kristen Proby writes next.

Fun-loving quick read! Ben and Rina’s story is wonderful. This book is an easy going read with fun characters. It’s always nice with the Montgomery clan.
After Shawn O’Callaghan and Nora Perry finished preparing the script for the next film produced by Luke Williams, based on Nora’s bestseller, it was time for him to look for his lead actress, and Luke didn’t think twice about going after a former co-worker who, like him, had abandoned her acting career, Sabrina Harrison.
Sabrina and Luke, as children, were the protagonists of a television series about vampires. Ten years ago, she decided that she no longer wanted to be part of this world because of the “rotten part”, hidden from the spotlight, that made her develop eating disorders, such as anorexia.
Now she was volunteering to distribute baskets to underprivileged girls in Bend, Oregon. And that’s where Luke found her.
Despite not wanting to accept right away, after reading the script, Sabrina couldn’t resist and agreed to go to Seattle, to prepare herself for the role.
Benjamin Demarco, a personal trainer, had recently bought Nate McKenna’s father’s gym. Luke offered him $ 100,000 to prepare his actress for the role in 6 weeks. Knowing that that money would help him expand his business, Ben accepted.
In the following weeks, between workouts in the gym and outdoors, having meetings with the Montgomery or simply being alone, the couple starts to connect.
Until the news that the big star Sabrina was in the city, and the paparazzi spread pictures of her, and that undermine the trust between the couple. This could disrupt the filming, her physical preparation and even the new relationship.
3,5 stars
Short and sweet! Great catching up with beloved characters as well. Hope to see glimpses of this couple in upcoming full length books because I can’t get enough of Ben and Sabrina! What a wonderful addition to the With Me In Seattle series.
I love the with me series, I think its the best that Miss Proby has written.. these two were everything I needed! I wish their story was longer because I couldn’t put it down! simply the best!
Sabrina Harrison walked away from showbiz many years ago, she is now living a quiet life in Oregon running a non profit. Well that was until a friend from her past, Luke Williams, shows up with a script that she just can’t say no to.
Benjamin Demarco owns a gym in Seattle, Sound Fitness, and business is going well but things get even better when he’s hired to be the personal trainer tasked with getting an actress into shape for an upcoming role as an FBI agent to hunts serial killers.
When Ben and Rina meet for the first time it was pretty comical I must admit I did chuckle out loud and I think we’ve all been in Ben’s shoes when we meet a star for the first time. I enjoyed the way they worked together and the friendship that developed over time. If you read IMAGINE WITH ME the movie may seem familiar since it’s the movie that Shawn & Lexi were collaborating on. The story line was great and so were the steamy times.
I love that this novella is the little extra readers are given thanks to the author, Kristen Proby, and 1001 Dark Nights, if you have read this series you are given characters that normally wouldn’t have had a book of their own and if you’re new to the series it’s a great way to jump in and see what it’s all about. This is perfect reading for a weekend afternoon. If you enjoy Contemporary Romances I would recommend this one to you.
Happy Reading!!!
What a cute short read! After the nightmare experience she had in Hollywood as a child and teen, Sabrina retired from the acting world and has stayed out of the limelight for years. Until she gets offered the role of a lifetime that makes her reconsider. Traveling to Seattle to take on the role that was made for her, she has to train to prepare for it – and insert Ben. The owner of a local gym, he isn’t excited at first to rearrange his schedule and business, but once he lays eyes on Sabrina the attraction is there that makes it all worth it to him. As they get to know each other, Ben realizes Sabrina is more than the superficial celebrity he thinks and the chemistry is electric between them. Of course, a misunderstanding almost derails their relationship but thankfully all ends well for this couple!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
When Luke Williams approaches Sabrina for the starring role in his new movie, after being absent in the public eye for years she’s hesitant but eventually agrees. She’s missed acting and with her new trainer Benjamin by her side she plans to get in shape the healthy way. She doesn’t expect to fall for Ben, and when her past issues resurfaces with the paparazzi, will she go back into hiding?
I loved their story! Benjamin can’t help but to fall for the beautiful actress who he learns is so much more than a pretty face. I also love seeing the Montgomery family and friends make their appearances. Looking for want to reading the next one!
I wasn’t ready for this amazing story to be over!! The attraction between Rina and Ben sparks off the page!! Grab yourself a copy and fall in love!!
I love returning to the With Me in Seattle universe because each addition to the series is like reuniting with old friends. If you’re new to the series, Shine With Me is the perfect afternoon read to quickly introduce you to Kristen Proby’s brand of super sexy leading men and the sassy beauties that love them.
While I loved reconnecting with some of my favorite characters, Sabrina and Ben had my undivided attention. Sparks flew from the moment they met, almost as if their souls recognized their other half. It was only a matter of time before they gave in to the undeniable pull between them and it was perfect when they did.
“I don’t care what anyone else thinks. Sometimes life just happens, and you meet someone you recognize. Someone that always held a place in your life, you just never knew it before.”
This novella was exactly what I needed today! I have missed seeing all the original cast of characters from the With Me In Seattle series and this novella quenches that thirst! This book is a great introduction into the Seattle world while leaving you with a smile and feeling a little lighter by the end. I can’t wait to read more.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sabrina is a big Hollywood former star who left that world behind and lives in Portland, OR. In the previous book, Imagine With Me #15 in this series, Shawn and Nora wrote a screenplay together from a book Nora wrote for Luke and they have decided Sabrina is the perfect lead for this movie.
Luke and her go way back and she agrees to do the movie but that means she needs to move to Seattle for several months while she gets into shape for the role of a kick add FBI agent. Ben who is best friends with Nic, who married to one of Luke’s brother in laws, Matt and who now owns and runs a gym is tasked with getting her into shape for the movie.
And so starts this really wonderfully warm and heartfelt story about lust and love at first site between two very different people but also ones who Luke’s family and friends bring into their hearts as well. It was a wonderful story about falling in love while Sabrina gets into shape for the movie. We get tons of scenes with all the With Me cast of characters like Nate, Jules, Natalie, Luke, and there whole families.
Kristen Proby has done it again~ she has taken characters and made me fall in love with them!
Sabrina had been a child actor, but left the scene and started a non-profit. When Luke Williams approaches her with a screenplay, she makes the leap back into acting. But she must become more fit for the role, and that’s where Ben comes in. He owns a local gym in Seattle, and is hired to work with Sabrina.
These two have crazy chemistry! Right from the start, I couldn’t put this down- not until I had finally found out how things panned out for them.
I always look forward to Kristen Proby’s books, and Shine with Me was a definite hit!
Shine With Me was a nice, easy read that I needed. The chemistry between Ben and Sabrina was sizzling. Seeing how they would navigate their feelings for one another was fascinating. They were just so adorable together. And of course I loved loved the cameos by the Montgomery clan. I missed them so. For a novella, this story had good substance with fabulous characters. I hope we get more of Ben and Sabrina in future installments. Overall, this was a very sweet romance.
Sabrina and Bens story was one I didn’t know I needed. This is one of the best series and there isn’t a bad one in the series. To see Sabrina go back into acting because of Luke, who can turn him down, and learn from past experiences and to see Ben helping her and working to get his business in an even better place. Seeing them work together and fall for each other was great. Getting to see other character from other stories in this series is also great. I can’t wait for any more of the books in this series. Kristen probe never disappoints
