Real estate agent Jenna Meyers is in a good position to work a side job as a private investigator searching for the money stolen from a bank. On a routine visit to a potential listing, Jenna discovers a grisly scene in an abandoned home. Her first thought is Squatters. A closer look reveals the house had been used as a place of torture. A chance sighting of someone lurking in the woods nearby … leaves Jenna fearful for her life.
When Sebastian McKinnon catches wind of the torture site, he vows to protect Jenna, convinced the victim tortured could have been his missing father. If the maniac conducting the torture thinks Jenna saw him, he might come after her, giving Sebastian the chance to capture him and learn the whereabouts of the Iron Horse Ranch patriarch.
Together, Sebastian and Jenna struggle to find answers and stay alive while a fire storm builds in the Crazy Mountains of Montana.

There is an ongoing mystery in the background still happening. You can still read as a stand alone but I’d recommend the other books first.
Lots of action, suspense and drama happening while Bastion falls in love.
Great story line and interesting characters, I loved it.

SEAL’s Vow (Iron Horse Legacy Book 4)
5 stars
I received a free copy of the romantic suspense novel SEAL’s Vow (Iron Horse Legacy Book 4):Bastian and Jenna by Elle James and this review was given freely.
Poignant and action packed with a fair amount of violence offset by a steamy romance and scenes with the loving close knit McKinnon family. Eleven years after his high school sweetheart Lauren was killed in a car accident, Navy Seal Sebastian “Bastian” McKinnon finds himself attracted to the woman he has sworn to protect, his little sister Molly’s best friend Eagle Rock real estate agent and private investigator Jenna Meyers.
When you read this book, you need to be aware that the lead couple of the story does get a resolution to their personal relationship, but there is a broader mystery won’t get resolved until the end of the 5th book in the series. ‘Iron Horse Legacy’ is a companion series to the ‘Brotherhood Protectors’ series, but you definitely don’t need to have read that series to enjoy this one.
Sebastian “Bastian” McKinnon is home on emergency family leave to help in the search for his father, James, who went missing under circumstances that would indicate foul play. Bastian ends up tasked with protecting Jenna, his little sister’s best friend. He has not been seriously interested in a woman since the death of his high school sweetheart in a car crash. He survived, but the drunk driver killed her, and Bastian vowed to never love again. Jenna survived a marriage to a violent ex-husband who very nearly killed her. She has promised herself to never trust a man again. As you can see, there are potential trigger issues in this story, but I thought the author handled them well. (My husband was killed by a drunk driver, so that is an issue about which I am particularly sensitive).
Along with the serious emotions there is a lot of action. There is also some steam with a lighthearted edge, and supportive involvement with the loving McKinnon family. Bastian and Jenna get the HEA they both deserve. And sadly, Bastian’s father is still missing.
Well written
Bastian may be a badass SEAL but he has never quite gotten over his first love. She was ripped from him when they were only teenagers but he still felt the loss deeply. His military career isn’t exactly easy on a relationship, so footloose he shall remain.
He and his brothers have returned to the family ranch to search for their missing father. His sister still giving them grief like she always has LOL. But he may have met his match in another female. Jenna may be the local real estate agent but she has fallen right into the middle of a possible torture site! As Molly’s best friend she got a lot of time to ogle her besties brother but his heart always belonged to Laura. She moved on but not very well. Her ex was an abusive asshat and it was left to the McKinnon females to piece her back together. But can she face a whole new slew of trauma?
Absolutely gripping story. I love how all the strands are knitting together. I am amazed the author can keep everything straight!
While trying to show a property Realtor Jenny Meyers gets stood up. So Jenna decides to do a little private investigating on some property of interest. When she finds the place she take a picture of it. She gets out and looks around she on the back side of the cabin and finds blood. She is getting ready to leave when she hears motorcycles she know she can’t make it to her jeep so she heads to the woods as fast as she can run but she needs to stop and hides behind a tree. She is grab for protection but she doesn’t know that . When it is safe the man who helped here from the two men running after her leads to a path that will take her town. She doesn’t realize that she is in nothing but trouble. So she walks to the town determined to find the sheriff.
Angus and Bastian are out looking for there father when Bastian get shot at and they decide to stop and go see Sheriff Barron. When they are talking to sheriff outside about what to do they hear this lady hollering for help and Bastian goes to help her.
They go inside and she tells what she saw after Angus brings her some water. That is when they bring in Hank Patterson and the Brotherhood Protectors.
It is emotional and tense and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I was caught up in it and couldn’t put it down. I hope that you enjoy Seal’s Vow as much as I did.
Sebastian “Bastian” McKinnon and his family are still looking for their missing father. Real estate agent/parttime private investigator, Jenna Meyers is in a good position to work a side job searching for the money stolen from a bank. When Jenna finds a grisly scene in an abandoned home that puts her in danger. Nonstop action and fast-paced story. Will the McKinnon family find their father in time? Whose behind killings and kidnapping? Hea and a cliffhanger. Great series.
I voluntarily received this arc in exchange for an honest opinion.
When his high school sweetheart died in a tragic accident Bastian McKinnon swore he would never love another. Brenna Meyers made sure she could take care of herself after she divorced her abusive ex husband. While she was out to show a property, Brenna checks out an old property for her side job as a private investigator, she walks into a gruesome crime scene, and gets chased by armed men in ski masks. Bastion is home on leave from the Navy Seals to help search for his kidnapped father, and Brenna ends up in the middle of the investigation when the crime scene she discovered proves that the McKinnon patriarch was held at that location.
Well written, and compelling characters caught up in a dangerous plot that is all about money that was stolen years previously. Exciting, action packed, and suspenseful read with a plot that has a surprising twists. Fantastic book!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

SEAL’s Vow is book 4 in the Iron Horse Legacy series by Elle James, while a standalone read it has an inner twinning story that continues as a cliffhanger in the story but more clues are leading them to possibly finding their missing father…
Jenna Myers, Real Estate agent and private investigator is searching for stolen money from a bank. While checking a potential listing she comes across something inside the house that looks to be a torture scene.
Sebastian McKinnon, Navy Seal on leave searching for his father who has been missing hears about the torture scene, wants to protect Jenna and hopefully capture who might have or know where his missing father is…
More clues, getting closer to finding the senior McKinnon, searching for stolen money and so much more…can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series!!
I am really enjoying this series. Bastian and his family are looking for their missing dad, is he alive or dead? They don’t know where he is, but they get shot at and go to the sheriff for help. Jenna is a female real estate agent who also is a private investigator. She’s out checking out properties when two masked men try to catch her because she stumbled onto a cabin where someone has been tied up and tortured. Jenna runs into the woods, the masked men run after her and all that saves her is a bearded mountain man. This story takes place in the Crazy Mountains and the characters are riveting. Will Bastian and Jenna make it out alive, who is after them and what are they hiding? Buy the book and read for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
I have read most of Ms. James books but had not read this series. I didn’t realize that I was coming into a middle of a plot; however I was able to pick up the storyline quickly. I must say I had to warm up to Bastian. For a Navy Seal and the type of training they receive, he seemed to be an angry person and “clenched his fists” a lot. I believe this was pretty overstated in the book. The storyline was suspenseful and I love the Brotherhood World and its characters. The only other part for me that I noticed were a few inconsistencies (my editor hat). The mom made biscuits for breakfast, then Jenna is at the toaster doing toast, but then for breakfast was biscuits, eggs, and bacon. Also, they are eating breakfast and Hank states that he talked to the Sheriff that afternoon. Also, Bastian went to school with Otis but when Jenna sees Otis, Bastian asks isn’t that your ex’s older brother. It’s not enough to necessarily detract from the story by it was noticeable by me. Other than that I am anxiously waiting to see where dad is.

This is my first book in the Iron Horse Legacy series. It can be read as a standalone, and it is not a cliffhanger in terms of Bastian and Jenna’s relationship. Yet, it is a cliffhanger in terms of the search for the McKinnon patriarch.
I was a little disappointed at the ending. Bastian and Jenna’s relationship status came about so quickly. I guess if you spend as much time in stressful situations as they did, it makes for a good foundation.
I understood Jenna’s need to stand on her own two feet considering her past, but if I am in a dangerous situation with gun toting crazies, I would definitely want that Navy SEAL right in front of me. And next to me….and behind me too. Forget pride.
I can see that I’m going to have to read the first 3 books, so that I can get the full picture of why James McKinnon was kidnapped, and maybe some ideas as to who would be behind it.
This was a fast paced, action packed read with some steamy scenes, suspense, and mystery.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a fantastic addition to this series. It can be read as a stand-alone as the author does a wonderful job of telling the sub-plot of the series. The patriarch of the McKinnon family (James) has been kidnapped. The series is following his children as they search for him but also find their soul mates. In this story, Sebastian (Bastian) McKinnon is on leave from the Navy SEALs. It has been eleven years since he lost the love of his life Lauren. She died from injuries sustained in a car accident. Bastian blames himself as he was the driver and also wearing a seat belt but she wasn’t. He made a promise to Lauren to never love another. Bastian though comes across Jenna Meyers and things soon start to heat up between them. Jenna is his younger sister’s best friend but she is nothing like that young girl.
The suspense and intrigue of this story just kept me on pins and needles. We get a few more clues on James McKinnon’s whereabouts but the mystery continues!!! I was glued to my poor e-reader. Reading as fast as I could to see if the mystery was solved. At the same time, the sparks were flying between Bastian and Jenna making for a great love story.
I adored having this book written in the dual POV format. Getting a glimpse into the characters’ thoughts really help me to connect and understand them and their actions so much better. I also loved seeing the prior characters and having them actively involved in the search for their father was wonderful.
There was a sexy scene in this book that while was really brief on details just may offend some readers. Because of this, I can only recommend this book to someone over the age of 18.
I can’t get enough of this series. The McKinnon’s are still looking for their father. Worried about what might of happened to him. Baddies still looking for the money another stole and the dad may know where it is. Jenna is in real estate and after a no show goes to scout out another property where the owner hasn’t been there for 10 years. As she looks around the house a gruesome discovery has her running for her life. With the help of an old mountain man she manages to escape and goes to the sheriff. Tests are conclusive and now it’s the McKinnon’s who are on the defensive as they try to protect their mom and sister from whatever is coming their way. I got so involved in this book. I held my breath as the test results came in and as Jenna and Sebastian fought for their lives. An excellent book and I can’t wait for the next one to see what happens and if they can find their dad.
Wow, Seal’s Vow was another amazing read in the Iron Horse Legacy series. This suspenseful read kept me on the edge of my seat. It had action, suspense, mystery and danger. From the beginning until the end, I couldn’t put this book down. I can’t wait to read the next book and I would definitely recommend this book and this amazing series.
This book in the series has moved to my favorite of them all with the fourth brother, Sebastian aka Bastian who finally notices Jenna, his younger sister’s bf, and who has found herself in the thick of things when she finds a deserted cabin that may lead to clues in finding the patriarch, Bastian’s dad, who has been missing for weeks. She runs into Bastian at the Sheriff’s office to report what she had seen and what she ran away from. She has had a crush on Bastian since they were kids but he only had eyes for H.S. girlfriend at that time and still mourns her loss even after eleven years. But Bastian finally notices his sister’s b.f. and the woman she has become, now all he has to do is move on from the past and protect Jenna as they get closer to finding answers with his dad’s disappearance.
A great read with steam, suspense and action that had me turning the pages. I liked the no drama between them and the banter that was spot on. I loved how strong Jenna was and how she picked herself up, and escaped her ex, becoming independent and rising from the bad situation. I enjoyed these two, their attraction and how when Bastian realizes what he has and wants, he doesn’t run away or hide his feelings. I loved seeing the others from previous books and how all are sticking together to find the answers. Can’t wait for the last book on the youngest, the sister, Molly, and hopefully finding out where the dad is.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Bastion, Navy Seal on leave, is still searching for his kidnapped father with his brothers. They are always one step behind. Jenna, his sister’s best friend and realtor, accidentally stumbles on a troubling clue to the kidnappers. Now they are after her. He becomes very protective and attracted to her. I don’t believe I read the previous books to this one, but there was enough information to catch up. There’s a love story going on during the hunt for clues and evidence. So, there is also lots of action going on. Well written. It is always pleasurable to read an Elle James book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
I read this book as a stand alone. I did not read any of the previous books in this series. I love best friends older brother books and this one is exactly that. Jenna has had a crush on Bastien since she was a teenager and best friends with his sister Molly. Bastien always thought of her as his little sister’s pesty friend. Eleven years later, feelings have changed as life has dealt each of them a serious blow. Now they will have to work together to find out who is trying to kill her, and maybe find Bastien’s missing father.
Several things made this story enjoyable. First, the fact I love best friends older brother storylines. Second, this truly is a standalone book. I may go back and read the previous books, but I don’t feel the need to. This story is self contained. Third, I enjoyed seeing the Brotherhood Protectors cross over into this series. It’s always a pleasure to revisit them. Finally, I love the mystery. Who has kidnapped Mr. MacKinnon? Who is going after Jenna? I love a good mystery/suspense.
My only complaint was the book just ended. I felt like there was no resolution. What is the next step? It just ended. Poof. Now I can’t wait for Molly’s book. i need to know what happens, with Molly and Parker, with Mr. MacKinnon and with Bastien and Jenna. Too many loose ends.
SEAL’s Vow is the 4th book in the Iron Horse Legacy series and is action packed and suspenseful right from the start. The McKinnon family is still searching for their missing father and the search is wrought with danger and intrigue. Bastian and Jenna are reunited and Bastian can’t resist his little sister’s best friend who is all grown up. Jenna had a crush on Bastian growing up and grown up Navy SEAL Bastian who is gentle, kind, and hot is still the man of her dreams. These two are great together and have sizzling chemistry. This is an action packed romance that keeps you turning the pages.
