During a heat wave, Hazel and Juniper discover a body on a glowing vessel. Their mother recognizes the woman as someone from the past. In an old picture, two men seem somehow familiar. Hazel has her hands full handling the heat, her powers, a creature gone wild, and family secrets – the past, present, and future. This novel has some surprises, and nonstop adventure. I especially enjoyed Hazel’s decision about the farm and her legacy.

The third book of the Farm to Fable Mysteries has Hazel still struggling with her magic when a new mystery draws her and her family in.

But what to do with the body and the boat. The connection to Quark, the magical town beyond the veil, is still broken. and the regular police would be out of their element. So Hazel and her family start investigating what had happened and what or who the flying creature was that they saw together with the ship.
As usual a well-written, funny cozy mystery, mixing magic and real world in a highly entertaining blend.

I may be in the minority but for me this book was hard to get into. It mixed loads of modern day slang with supernatural speak and for me it didn’t flow. I kept putting it down as I found myself not fully connecting with Hazel.
There were times when I had to reread a passage as I couldn’t figure out what was happening and the time warps made it even more confusing.
The slow start of the book may have been what did it for me, things did eventually pick up unfortunately by then my attention had been diverted enough times to no longer be fully immersed in the story.
There were some funny moments that did have me cracking up, poignant ones as you realize just how fragile life and love is that I was able to appreciate.

A hot and humid summer becomes much more than a test of weather endurance.
Returning to the time when Amy met her girls’ father, it is much more than a Summer of Love.
Changes in the past and present can ripple towards their futures- and some of the connections are startling
A very twisted tale!

It was a good book. It was good enough to make me late for an appointment because I didn’t want to put it down. I really like the paranormal aspect of it.
Past, present and future, all rolled into one! I think I spent the entire book with my mouth hanging opened! So much was learned and revealed! I can’t get enough of this series! Hazel, Charlie, Tyler, Amy, Harper, and Link, I can’t wait to visit your world again!

Hazel will have to come to terms with using her magic. She will learn about her mother’s past and the truth. Hazel will be in for some serious reveals.
This was a really good book, I really enjoyed reading it. You will Hazel dealing with what her magic can do, the repercussions, having to embrace it. Her trying to have a relationship with Tyler and her family. I am not sold on the Hazel and Tyler relationship, I feel like it is lacking something. Will see how it progresses in future books. I really am looking forward to learning what Clancy really is. I recommend reading this book/ series. It is the perfect getaway for a while.
