Demystifying Miracles What if you could experience something miraculous every day? Many Christians think of miracles as rare events for a select and fortunate few. But miracles don’t have to be something mysterious and out of reach. They don’t have to be the exception. Just as they were common in the early church, they can become common for you. School of the Miraculous: A Practical Guide to … School of the Miraculous: A Practical Guide to Walking in Daily Miracles by Dr. Kynan Bridges shows how every believer can develop a miracle mindset, operate in miracles, and establish a lifestyle in which miraculous events occur.
Dr. Bridges has encountered many believers who are frustrated because they are not seeing evidence of God’s power in their circumstances. They have a growing desperation for more of His intervention in their lives. This book was designed to answer that cry for more.
The Holy Spirit is the Miracle Worker–but most miracles involve human participation in some way. Dr. Bridges reveals that our growing intimacy with God’s Spirit will lead us to see and participate in His miracles–living in His power and setting our expectations increasingly higher for His miraculous works in our lives.
This practical guide for every believer is filled with ideas for personal application, encouraging testimonies, and spiritual activation prayers for tapping into the miraculous. Enroll in the School of the Miraculous today!

My Thoughts on School of the Miraculous:
I grew up Southern Baptist. We didn’t speak in tongues, we didn’t have healing services, we just prayed and hoped but didn’t claim. Now I’m married to a guy who grew up non-denominational/Pentecostal. To say that we’re different is an understatement!
For us, we do believe that miracles do still happen. I believe we can ask for them to happen and pray that they do, but that God ultimately has the say-so on whether He grants our request or not. Sometimes He might say yes and heal us while others the answer remains no. In the Bible, He did not heal everyone so I don’t think He will today. He certainly can if He wants to though.
This book makes me have mixed feelings. I don’t feel we should tell God what is going to happen, but I do believe He can do anything if He so chooses. It’s an interesting book.

I grew up in a strict Baptist background. My dad was a preacher and there was no talk about speaking in tongues or being slain in the Spirit. I remember one Wednesday night when this lady came to our church. No one knew her but there she was sitting in the pew. In the middle of my dad preaching this lady stands up and starts speaking in tongues. I was totally freaked out and the congregation was quite upset. An usher took the lady by the arms and made her leave the church. Today I can still see the hurt look on that woman’s face.
Reading this book has reminded me of my first time experience in a Charismatic church. My husband and I went to a new church and they were having a healing service. I was so uncomfortable because all I could think about what that lady so many years before. I have always been cautious of who lays hands on me but I do know that God speaks through people. I liked how the author uses scriptures to back up what he is saying. Not everyone has experienced miracles but they do happen. This has always been a touchy subject for me. I know it stems from my upbringing, but I have learned over the years to read the Bible and allow God to speak to me.
The beauty of God is that His Word never comes back void. If it says it in the Bible, then it is true. I liked how the author explained that we need to be in obedience with God. How are we going to see miracles if we walk around ignoring God’s direction? The book is filled with stories of healing and miracles that were unexpected and faith that was grounded in His Word.
I have seen someone healed before and I have seen those that were not healed. It is hard at times to understand why bad things happen. What I do understand is that God is on the throne. We need to be obedient, surround ourselves with believers and trust him. I appreciate the authors’ explanations of prayers, miracles and faith. This would have been a good book for me to read as I was taking care of my brother. There were days I wondered where God was. I did get a miracle from that journey but it wasn’t the one I expected. The miracle I received was leading my brother to Christ before he passed away. It was the best gift God could have given me. My brother who had been angry at God most of his life, was saved and I call that a miracle.
