Nikki:Jack has explained his aversion to relationships about a million times to everyone. To me. To the guys in the band. Even to his mom, who gets kind of sad that he denounces monogamy so easily. He claims that no matter how intensely he might feel for a girl, he’ll eventually get bored of her. He’s also explained to me, multiple times, that I’m the only woman he’s ever been able to stand more … to stand more than a few days with. Because we’re friends.
Just friends.
I finish my beer quickly and lie back down, wrapping one arm around Jack’s waist and letting my head settle into him. I feel his chest rise and fall with his breath. I revel in the familiar warmth.
I fight the terrible urge to climb on top of him and suck the lips off his face.
Fuck, I’ve got weeks left stuck on this fucking tour bus with my ‘just friend,’ the hot, insatiable manwhore Jack Cordero.
Kill me now.
Jack:
I lie back on the couch and turn off the TV. No use pretending to watch it anymore. I should go to bed, but as usual, my mind won’t quiet down.
I feel cold without Nikki on top of me. And I miss the way she smells.
Maybe I should break this self-imposed dry spell I’ve been in since Christian demanded that Nikki join us on tour to babysit.
It’s not that I can’t hook up with a girl while Nikki’s on tour. I mean, she knows I sleep around.
It’s just… Nikki’s my best friend.
Nikki is one of the few people in my life that really expects something of me. And she doesn’t see me as some guitar god or her older brother’s friend or anything like that.
She’s the only one who really gets me. Who’s figured out how to talk to me.
I’d lay down my own life before I’d hurt her.
But I’m still going to fuck myself thinking about her ass in those shorts.

This is the third book in the series Say Yes and I loved it. This one was definitely a five star read. Jack is the lead guitar player of Say Yes and he’s also Shawn’s stepbrother. He’s gorgeous and really sweet, a little kinky. He also has issues because of his estranged father, who abandoned him as a child along with his wife. Nikki is Ian’s little sister who’s been in love with Jack since she was sixteen. This story flows well and I couldn’t put it down. I loved the journey of these two and the closeness they shared before they were even in love. I loved that her brother Ian didn’t give Jack a hard time because he was dating his little sister. I totally recommend this book and can’t wait to read book four about Dylan.
Jack met Nikki when she was 16 when he was visiting his friend and bandmate at his home. Once he found out her age and Ian warned Jack off her they became best friends from then on but Nikki always wanted Jack as more.
Jack’s upbringing left him thinking that he could never have true love but Nikki wanted to prove Jack wrong. This book will have you turning pages to see if their friendship can be more and if just a couple of days together can get them past the sexual longing they have both felt without ruining their friendship.
This is the first book I have read by Amelia Mae. I thought the storyline was good and I liked the characters. Jack and Nikki have know each other since they were young. Jack has issues with relationships and does not want to ruin his friendship with Nikki. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Amelia Mae, ‘Say yes, Jack’. (Say Yes series, book 3).
As a Hidden Gem ARC reader I received this book for free. And promised an honest review. Here it is.
For me English is a foreign language. Sorry for errors.
Rating: 4 stars (of 5).
In general: From friends to lovers.
Main characters:
– Nikki Brooks (22).
She works as kind of chaperonne for the manager of the band ‘Say Yes’ in which her brother, Ian, plays. After a publicity scandal she has to keep the four rock stars of the band in line.
– Jack Cordero (28).
Friend of Ian Brooks. Jack and Ian play together in the very succesful band. ‘Say Yes’ is on tour and Nikki has to live for several weeks in the touringcar of the band to do her chaperonne job.
Jack met Nikki for the first time when she was 16. Since then Ian was a very protective brother. When Nikki became older, she and Jack liked each other more and more and during the tour they were best friends. But secretly both want more.
After the tour Nikki and Jack become roommates.
The author, Amelia Mae, describes how Nikki and Jack fall in love in spite of all kind of complications: fear of commitment, a bad relation with an ill parent, afraid to lose best friend and fear for a protective bother. The author brings all these aspects together in a well written, credible (but not very original) plot.
All in all the book was a pleasure to read.
