Ian: Not everyone gets a chance to see their high school crush after having their album go platinum and selling out fucking stadiums. Doesn’t matter how unattainable she was in high school, the second she sees I’m a rock star, she’s gonna spread her legs just like all the others.Maybe it’d be a good idea to finally fuck her and get over this crush.Well, it’s not really a crush. Not anymore. That … a crush. Not anymore. That would be fucking crazy. More like I end up comparing every woman I meet to the girl I was so crazy about all those years ago.
Cora’s something special. And she’s probably married. Or engaged to some handsome billionaire. Or something. Whatever it is, she’ll always to be way- the-hell too good for the likes of me.
But like it or not, Cora Dwyer is about to come back into my life – and I have no idea what the hell to do about it.
Cora
Ian? The only person I know named Ian is someone I haven’t seen since high school. He’s sort-of famous now, the drummer in a band that’s getting pretty big. But I’ll always know him as the sweet, dorky guy who couldn’t say two words to me without tripping over himself.
Ian Brooks, the junior high school marching band nerd that everybody picked on who, sometime between junior and senior year, grew into his body, traded playing drums for the marching band to drumming for the best/only rock band in town, and became Ian Brooks, every girl’s James-Dean-Rebel-Without-A-Cause bad rocker boy fantasy.
He’s taller than I remember. Shoulders broader. A little scruffier. More ink on his arms. But that’s him alright. In the flesh.
God, that smile. That face. That body. That soft white cotton tee shirt covering his hard chest and tattooed arms.
I mean, who would have thought that Ian Brooks from high school would grow up into six feet of pure man?
Fuck me.

It is a book about romance and sex. The book is well written, has twists and turns. When it comes to love, not everyone gets a second chance at it. Ian and Cora did and they made good use of the opportunity.
Amelia Mae is a talented writer in this genre, creating an enjoyable atmosphere and impressive interactions and character development. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and I recommend this book.
This was the first book by this author that I’ve read. I really enjoyed it. I have put the rest of the books in this series, by this author on my wish list.
I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems books and am leaving a voluntary review.
Cora was the cheerleader and girl of his dreams back when they were in high school. Ian was the
nerdy guy who wasn’t really that memorable who played drums in the schools marching band, now he’s a big rock star still playing the drums. Cora works as a waitress in a night club and is a struggling actress, not really getting very far. Ian and his band are out celebrating Ian’s sister’s twenty first birthday, and who should be their waitress for the evening, none other but Cora.
Ian is a rocker who’s life changed one night and nothing has felt right since. Now the band has a new video and the model they hired gets a better job last minute. While looking through headshots a couple of them recognize Cora from high school. Cora is just not some girl but the girl Ian crush on and somewhat still does. Thinking Cora has it all because of her popularity back then, Ian is in for a surprise. From the moment these two connect again I couldn’t get enough, but not all things go as smoothly. I love this story of memories, spin the bottle, some twists, lots of sexy, steamy times and great friends. Can’t wait to read the next!!!
Good romance in the world of a rock band
It’s a beautiful, tender, but also torrid romance between Ian, who was a “dork” in high school, and who has become a drummer for a famous band, who reunites with Cora, the young woman he secretly loved in high school. Everything seemed to smile on the latter, with a life all mapped out, but Ian finds her where he did not expect her, and can now approach her.
I liked the characters in this story, and Cora has an interesting side because of her weaknesses, and where she is in her career. Likewise, the immersion in the world of rock and even more in the management that surrounds the group, are a little shocking, but pigment the romance, and reveal even more Ian and Cora.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Loved It!!
Ian is the drummer for the rock band Say Yes and Cora is a model wanting a career in acting. So much goes in to these two with have known each other as kids, to Cora having a terrible relationship with the guy she knew in high school, to Ian have to go through some tragic events in his life. They are both just floating along until one night at a nightclub Cora is working at they recognize each other and catch up on their past.
Things snow ball from there and this book gave me everything I love in my rock romances from connections, to the struggles with touring (especially if you are being paid to be the lead singer’s girlfriend for show…all a part of acting) to the hot chemistry these two have which burns the pages up. I love how they overcome their struggles and their past all the while supporting each other.
If you are a rock romance fan this is a book you don’t want to miss. I’ve had the pleasure to have read other books in the Say Yes series and have loved each and every one of them.
I enjoyed this story about a high school crush turned second chance. The rock star enivornment is nice, but Ian and Cora really shine in their attraction and love for each other. She struggles with self worth issues, but Ian is strong and holds her up until she can do it on her own. I enjoyed the drama, the uniqueness of the storyline and the overall flow of the story. I was sent a complimentary copy and I am choosing to leave my honest review.
I really enjoyed this second chance at love with the girl you fantasized about in high school. Ian was in the school band and an Anime geek but he traded in the marching band and became a drummer for Say Yes, he’s living the dream. Cora was one of the popular girls at school, and the one most likely to succeed, she didn’t. She’s in her late twenties, working as a cocktail waitress and still trying to be an actress. This is the part I didn’t get, she’s a college graduate, she had actually dropped out of dental school and being a waitress was the best she could get? And she’s drop dead gorgeous! Sorry but her reality just made no sense to me at all and that just didn’t seem realistic. Still loved her and Ian together, they were so hot. He’s such a good guy and understands that he needs to give her space to be what she wants to be. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and I recommend this book.
