” Saving Him-Lovers in Louisville- Book Two” by Ariella Talix is a tale of one
Sibylla Eliana Xenopoulos (Sibley) who runs her college friend Åse Halvorsen’s childhood family Victorian as a B&B in Old Louisville and Private Investigator Leo Spanos Gunnar Dahl…Åse’s new husband’s close friend. Gunnar & Åse are thrilled that Sibley and Leo….both of Greek ancestry …have hit it off soo well. This is truly a beautifully written romantic thriller about two people who discover and complete each other in the most intriguing manner possible. Plus in addition to the main characters …there are a host of supporting personalities that inhabit the book with charm and grace….indeed a tale in which all the pieces fit …seamlessly. There is enough drama …
intrigue…”naughtiness “ …. suspense … danger & love to capture a reader’s attention …ensuring pages turned …chapters read….late into the night. Indeed holding ones imagination long after the book is through. Read and see. Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book.
Ariella Talix has done it again with another fantastic read. I recently discovered this author and every book that she has written and that I have read has been well worth reading. Once I start reading I cannot but her books down!!!
Saving Him is just the book you have been wanting to read but you just did not know it. All of Ariella Talix’s characters are very well thought out and created. They have interesting back stories and once you start reading you just want to keep finding out more about them. In this book, there is a very strong female lead named Sibley. This book follows Sibley’s relationship with a private investigator named Leo.
For a refreshing change, Saving Him, does not have a damsel in distress who is waiting for her knight in shining armor to come to her rescue. Instead, the book has an interesting and head strong woman who will do whatever is in her power to save the man she loves. It is nice to see that a woman in a “romance” novel is not the person who needs to be rescued from some type of conflict.
I highly recommend picking up and reading all of Ariella Talix’s other novels. Saving Him is the 2nd novel in her series “Lovers in Louisville”. The first book is Save Her and I personally recommend that you read Save Her before picking Saving Him up. You will not be disappointed.
If you fall in love with the characters in Lovers in Louisville just as I did then you should definitely invest in purchasing the entire library from Ariella Talix. The Drummonds series of books are the first books that I read from Ariella Talix and I instantly knew that this author was something special. Her writing is creative and suspenseful and you just never know what is going to happen next.
The second book in the Lovers in Louisville series a well written story that kept me turning pages. This is the first book by this Author that I have read. Leonidas Lysande Spanos and Sibley Xenopoulos will go through a lot to get their happy ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An interesting mix of innocence and shy sweetness; well at least at first. Leo is so crazy about Sibley right from the start. He’s so crazy about her that so many different times he acts kind of crazy. No, not dangerous crazy but more like self-sabotaging crazy. He feels like he just can’t offer Sibley the kind of life that she so deserves. As the story unfolds it easier to understand where those fears are coming from. And there are some legitimate reasons.
Sibley, has had her eye on Leo for quite some time. And that was before he went to California on a job and his image was transformed. Sibley was beginning to despair of ever really getting him really interested in her. She just didn’t realize how he already felt. There were a lot of mixed messages going on. Even after they moved on in their connection there were more times when their messages got mixed.
Leo was trying to keep Sibley out of the danger that was surrounding him. The “bad man” was dangerous but also clever and ruthless. He keeps things stirred up as he runs circles around law enforcement.
This story had some interesting secondary people in the book. That includes the main characters best friends, Gunnar and Ase.
There are surprises coming up as the story works towards the end. I have to say the language twist was something I was NOT expecting. You’ll have to read the book to figure that one out.
I will say that I liked some parts of the story more than other parts. Some of it did slow the story down but overall I did like it.
Epilogue was well done. It tied up more ends of the story with it’s look into the future too.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
This really held my interest and got me so involved. At one point, while it wasn’t safe for Leo to be out, my husband said something about going somewhere. I was so involved in this story that my first thought was “is it safe to go”. Leo and Sibley are great characters that have a lot going on.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
I just loved this book. It was so well-written that it captured my mind and I was dragged along for the ride. Once I started reading I could not put it down until I read the last page.
This story draws you in from the beginning!! It’s an amazing story and I love the chemistry between the character’s and watching how it grows! Truly recommend this book to everyone!
Loved this story. It is so captivating all the twists and turns keep you interested. Very interesting story and hard to put down. A quick read it is so good. The chemistry between Leo and Sibley was so good!
Leo and Sibley draws you in right from the beginning in this romantic suspense thriller. The back drop of Kentucky adds to the character of the story giving it a southern flavor. The plot along with all the story elements including the twists and turns will captivate and keep you glued to this story until the last page.

The storyline was great and the characters were well developed which captivated me right from the start. However, the chemistry between the characters kept me turning the pages until the very end!
This romantic thriller is based in Kentucky. Talk about suspense and page-turning drama, this book has it all. Well written with lots of twists and action. Great characters and an entertaining read. Sibley and Leo will take you on one romantic roller coaster. This is part of the Lovers in Louisville Series but is read as a standalone.
This is only the second book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last. I’m not one to tell the story but have to say it was flawlessly written, a lovely romance with lots of sexy scenes. I quickly came to admire the main characters, strong, caring & kind to one & all, doubtless due to their Greek heritage with their deep sense of family. They were brave, bold & ethicaj. There was danger, there were literally laugh out loud moments, witty dialogue & I loved the fact that the woman saved her man from the brink of death & a kickass move in her arsenal to take down her own attacker. A fairly quick read I highly recommend. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
Strong Characters with Loving Hearts
It is common knowledge that weddings often provide the occasion and impetus for other couples to meet or reconnect, fall in love and eventually wed. That is the premise that launches Ariella Talix’s new romance, Saving Him.
Good friend Sibylla Xenopoulos is back home in Kentucky having lived in and said good-bye to the big city life of New York and also the big city boyfriend. Confident and practiced in her skills of management and event planning, Sibley has permanently returned home to help her friend Åse Halvorsen convert her family estate into a bed and breakfast and then to operate the establishment while Åse turns her attentions to her own newly opened design studio and her fiancé, celebrated novelist Gunnar Dahl. Strong, self-assured and glad to be back near her loving Greek family, beautiful Sibley embraces the new venture, hiring staff and providing polish, turning the mansion into a charming boutique establishment. And now as maid of honor for Åse, she supports and celebrates her dear friend’s marriage to Gunnar.
Leo Spanos, friend and groomsman for Gunnar, is a skilled investigator who became acquainted with the writer when his talents and first-hand knowledge of investigation were called on by Gunnar to provide realistic details for one of Gunnar’s novels, and later, to provide real support in finding and rescuing the kidnapped Åse. The wedding of Gunnar and Åse does what weddings do—mix the friends of the nuptial couple in new configurations and refresh the memories of those who have previous acquaintanceships. The attention given to Sibley by the best man and brother of Gunnar, Halden, is noticed by Leo, but it does not deter his interest in the lovely Sibley which continues over the next few weeks until he relocates to California to consult on set for a new HBO series. Upon his return, tanned and styled in hopes of securing the attentions of Sibley, Leo is even more appealing and intriguing to Sibley, who renew their relationship and explore their shared Greek heritage, only to find themselves dealing with the consequences of the unexpected and questionable release from prison of an individual who was convicted by evidence gathered by Leo and who has vowed retribution for Leo’s role in his conviction.
Often times the major engine that propels a romance is the angst of young lovers and their friends pushing and pulling the couple who are attempting to find their way to a healthy, happy relationship. Misunderstanding and mixed messages confuse the young lovers and frustrate the reader who simply wants resolution and a happily ever after moment. Happily for the reader, this novel is not such a hormone and anxiety laden offering. Ariella Talix continues the story of a group of mature friends who naturally move forward into adult relationships with confidence in themselves and respect for each other. Both primary characters have loved before, and been bruised by the experience, but they are strong individuals who recover, learn and make wiser choices in the future. Saving Him brings together characters introduced in Saving Her, but this work can stand on its on legs. All characters are fully introduced, and relationships are gracefully defined, so the reader moves smoothly forward, even without having read the companion novel. The characters are mature, intelligent and thoughtful in their interactions, not inexperienced lovers, insecure individually and as a couple.
The reader will enjoy the logical crafting of the plot, the inventiveness of the storyline and the freshness of the characters as they interact as mature adults who know themselves and trust each other. The values of family and friendships are central, creating a strong support system for the primary characters. This was my first Talix novel, but it will not be my last.
