When you’re faking a relationship, the last thing you should do is fall in love…especially with a prince. Charlie is back in his hometown of Chester Falls for his sister’s wedding. What he needs is a date to keep him away from the wandering hands of his ex. Prince Kristof of Lydovia, or simply Kris, needs an escape from the latest press scandal. Hiding away in an American small town doesn’t … an American small town doesn’t mean he can’t pretend to not be royal, or be someone’s boyfriend. Especially when that someone keeps falling all over him, literally.
Intense chemistry
A family wedding
Too many secrets
When their fake relationship starts to feel very real, and the press closes in, how will Kris and Charlie handle the fallout? And when the truth comes out will Charlie catch his prince, or will he let him go?

This book is absolutely and utterly adorable, the thing fairy tales are made of!
This is exactly what I needed in these days, a book that’s light, low angst and dreamy, and that makes you smile so hard your face might brake!
I adored both Kris (or Prince Kristof Ivan Maxim) and Charlie, and Charlie’s family is absolutely amazing too!
I have loved this author from her very first book as Ana Newfolk and have read anything she wrote, and this new series is off to a very promising start!
Also, there’s so much promise for future goodness!
I love a good “prince reveal” story, and How to Catch a Prince was a good one. There is just something about a sweet, lovable guy unexpectedly and unknowingly finding his true prince that just warms my heart. Between being under-appreciated at work and being in the company of an unfaithful ex, Charlie deserved to find his true prince. Kris, who is often misrepresented, is the perfect prince for Charlie. Their attraction is obvious from the start. The author painted great pictures. The scenes were descriptive and I could clearly see Charlie and Kris in all the various settings, especially the outdoor nature scenes.
This book has some intriguing secondary characters, too. There seemed to be attraction between some. Maybe someone can put Connor in better spirits – someone like James. I wasn’t much interested in Rory or Sergei throughout the book, but somehow the author ended up making them more relatable and I’d like to see their story unfold. Also, although Tom was only in a few scenes, I absolutely loved those glimpses into his personality and characteristics. It sounds like I’m saying I want more, more, more. That’s because I do. In my opinion, this series has amazing potential.
This was a well-written story. Almost every question I had was answered and almost every thing I wanted to see or have happen was shown or resolved. The one little tidbit I’d have liked is confirmation of Charlie realizing his career dream. Still, I am so glad that Charlie found his happily ever after. The epilogue provided the perfect fairytale ending.
Ana Ashley is a new to me author, but after reading this book I will be looking for more of her stuff. I like her writing style. It is clear, straightforward, humorous, and descriptive. I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book and decided to voluntarily share my honest opinion of it.
I really enjoyed this series opener. Kris and Charlie were great characters, engaging and sweet. Their fake relationship was sweetly romantic and turn so very real in the end, I’m looking forward to revisiting Chester Falls.
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
This is a new author to me & I was pleasantly surprised at how well this sweet, adorable MM romance was written. The plot is well-written & engaging a “fake relationship” undertone & there is some good scene description. The main characters are endearing & have good chemistry between them. There is good support from the secondary characters.
There is: a artistically inclined young man (Charlie) is back in his hometown (Chester Falls) & needs a date for his sister’s wedding & comes into contact with a man (Kris aka Prince Kristof of Lydovia) who decides to help him but secrets have a way of being exposed & decisions will have to be made, Kris’s manipulative ex (Sergei), Charlie’s ex (Rory) with wondering hands, drama, intrigue, family issues, friendship, humor, secrets, manipulations, disagreements, attractions, complications, advice, deceit, emotional turmoil, compromises, love, happiness, some steam & a delightful conclusion.
What a sweet story.
I absolutely loved Kris and Charlie.
Kris is a prince in hiding in America because he’s been involved in one too many scandals.
He’s not a bad guy, he just seems to end up in bad situations.
Charlie is back in his hometown for his sister’s wedding and unfortunately has to deal with a not so understanding ex who’s being a bit manipulative.
They both end up staying in the same place and literally run into each other.
Kris offers to help Charlie with his ex as a fake boyfriend but all too soon the lines are blurred and suddenly it’s not fake for either one of them.
I loved how supportive of Charlie Kris was and encouraging him to pursue his dream.
Charlie was an absolute sweetheart, always willing to go above and beyond for people
Cute, fun and with a fairytale flare. Loved it!
The characters and overall plot were really fun to read and I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
Charlie and Kris make for a great fake boyfriend relationship. It has a chivalrous and down-to-earth royal in hiding, an adorable and clumsy artist, insta-lust (which quickly develops into more), tangible chemistry, and all the feels and sweetness you could possibly need. There is some mild angst with the press sniffing around, Kris holding out on telling Charlie who he really is, and ex-boyfriend and family drama. It’s not painful at all though, but rather, is all small-town heart and humour. I loved the seamless introductions to other characters and the hints at their connections; it left me eager to re-visit Chester Falls to see the others get their HEA!
is just like a modern day fairytale. You have the royal family, the prince, the “commoner”,the fable like romance…although missing the witch or the bad characters, if you discount the trouble making ex boyfriends and the fastidious press.
A Christmas wedding, family shenanigans and meddling siblings are the framework for the love story between Kris and Charlie, the Lydovian prince and the American “commoner” fated to meet and fall in love. But the author didn’t focus on the class differences, choosing instead to show how perfect they are for each other.
A fabulous blend of cute, hot and sweet, the book is just what you need if you want to just get all warm and fuzzy, to laugh and enjoy a story that’s light and fun.
Being a prince has it’s drawbacks because the press is always looking to find something sensational to write about so when I’m targeted, going to the State a few weeks early sounds like a good plan. The only problem is the press is waiting for me there, so my bodygard sends me to his hometown to stay. There I literally trip over my neighbor and knock him to the floor, to make up for it we go out to dinner and the magic begins. I really enjoyed this modern day almost fairy tale romance it was such a good book.
I loved this book! Kris and Charlie are some of my favorite characters I’ve read this year.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. A Prince that is looking for his charming. When Prince Kristof is forced to hide away due to his ex spilling lies about him him the news, Kris is sent to America to hideaway.
Charlie is going to spend a much need break with his family as his sister gets married. Just one hitch in the plans his ex will be there, best friend to his brother and no one knows they was secretly together.
When these to meet in was so much steam coming from them, Kris and Charlie are just what the other was looking for only if they could see past the fake relationship thing between them.
But what happens when Charlie finds out Kris never told him the truth? When one runs can the other really follow? sometimes you have collateral damage to deal with as well a past coming to haunt you deal with. Who will come out the other side. A recommend read for a sweet easy whirl romance with secrets revealed that could make or break Charlie and Kris. Not forgetting how you just fall in love with Charlie’s family and (tinker bell) Tom.
Charlie and Kris were an adorably, fun, and sweet couple who started out in a fake relationship but quickly grew into something real. There were of course the downs but the ups quickly followed and left you with a happily ever after. This book set up what I’m sure will be wonderful story lines with the secondary characters you meet in Chester Falls.
I loved it. It was a page furner. I look forward to the next book. I hope there is a next book.
Charlie has a week off from work for a family wedding, while Kris needs to lay low after some bad publicity for his royal family (caused by his ex). They end up meeting in a very funny & original way.
As they get to chatting, it’s obvious to Kris that Charlie needs to avoid his ex at the wedding, & Kris likes Charlie, so he volunteers to help him do this.
“…I need to you to know that while our relationship may be fake, how I feel about touching you isn’t.”
However, they don’t just caring for each other as easy friends, & they seem to have a connection that goes beyond the superficial.
<3 Hannah, she’s quite funny.
I'm surprised that after making plans to pretend to be boyfriends they didn't at least prepare a plan for what to say when someone asked them how they met, etc.
There are some typos here & there (mostly with punctuation).
Despite this, I loved the story, it was a cute MM Cinderella type story, not much action, but cute nonetheless. <3 the ending, too.
Who can ever be let down by an Ana Ashley book??? The characters are always wonderful and their stories are fun to read. This book is the same, Kris and Charlie area just cute together from the time they meet or fall over each other. It was a sure thing they were going to be more than they decided. They shared a common bond of past break ups, although Charlie’s was more of a heart break while Kris’s was more of an after breakup let down. Even when they were doing the fake boyfriend thing, they were still darling. I was so happy that Charlie stuck it out and realized that Kris was the real deal and followed his heart! It was just a feel good love story. I got to admit at first, I didn’t realize that CeeCee was Connor’s girlfriend. That threw me for a minute. Really loved it and always want more… onto the next book.
I hadn’t read any of Ana’s books before this one, but that will change now. I loved this book. I actually listened to it on Audible, which made it even better as the narrator was clear, funny and overall brliant, but that was mainly due to having a wonderful book to read in the first place.
The characters were great, simple but well written. The story was a traditional boy meets boy love story. An HEA outcome and an around lovely book.
How to Catch a Prince is the first book in the Chester Falls series, a contemporary MM romance series set in a small New England town. This book is full of fluff and romance, with enough light angst and low drama to give the plot a little umph.
Just like a gay Hallmark movie, Charlie returns home to Chester Falls for his sister’s wedding. Unbeknownst to Charlie, the hot neighbor living next to him in his rented temporary room is Prince Kristof of Lydovia. Kris is in Chester Falls to hide from the press and lay low until he has a chance to attend the U.S. President’s Ball and fix his bad boy image. The last thing Kris expects to happen is to literally bump into the love of his life in a moment of chance. From the instant these two men lock eyes, there is no stopping the attraction and romance that sparks between them. But first they will have to get through obstacles and make hard decisions before they can get their happy ever after.
I loved this book. It is the definition of a fluffy read full of improbable possibilities that you find in fairy tales. Kris and Charlie were great characters and their romance was both tender and sweet. I really enjoyed Ana Ashley’s writing style and found the book very easy to read and enjoy.
Nick Hudson narrated the audiobook and did a fantastic job. He has a wonderful voice that’s smooth and melodic. He voiced all the characters perfectly and made each character sound distinct and unique so it was easy for me to follow along while listening. I loved the energy Nick put into his performance and I thought it was super cute the little bit of personality he added in the author’s end notes. I will definitely listen to more books by Nick Hudson.
This book gets a big recommendation from me, especially if you want some sweet Hallmark-type romance fluff.
An artist and a prince
I want to meet a prince but only if he’s like Kris. Talk about charming, handsome, sexy and sweet, Kris is all those things and so much more. I love how he encourages Charlie to follow his dreams and never loses sight of what’s important. Charlie is practically perfect and I just know if I met him I’d fall in love with his kindness, his talent and his freckles. “Even if I was blind, I would have known you were there.” These two make me swoon and sigh. They are the epitome of dreams coming true and I’m so glad we don’t have to say goodbye to this wonderful world. I’m off to meet my rival.
There was so much to love about this first Chester Falls story… a European prince who ends up incognito in a small Connecticut town meets a guy visiting for his sister’s wedding. There’s a meet cute, a fake relationship that isn’t fake for long, and a bit of conflict… but the feels are off the charts, and it’s a story that grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go. I can’t wait for more from Chester Falls! Highly recommended!
