I loved this small town romance. But it’s more than a romance. It’s a story about fighting for your happiness, healing, and so much more. Lena is protecting her sister Millie by taking her and her son Cable on the run from Caleb’s abusive dad. They come across Rowan Inn. Jesse has taken over Rowan Inn after his parents passed away. It’s closed but Lena is desperate and arranges to help get it fixed up to sell in exchange for them staying there for a bit. Jesse and Lena do not get along at first. He is trying to hide his pain. Lena is a strong female that keeps herself guarded for her own protection. As they work together their annoyance with each other starts to fade and they understand each other. Pretty soon they can’t deny their attraction. But Lena knows she has to leave soon for their safety. And Jesse doesn’t want to stay in the town that holds memories of his family. When every one safety is in jeopardy what they both need and want comes clear but it might be too late. Man, this was a great story. And I want more. I want stories about everyone else. I can’t wait to dive into more from this author. A must read romance.
This is my first read by this author and I loved it! I’m always in for a small town romance and a town where you can get anywhere in 6 minutes is for me.
Following a horrific event Lena takes her sister and nephew on the run and end up at the closed down Rowan Inn. What used to be the highlight of the town is now falling apart and Jesse Rowan becomes their savior, unbeknownst to him, and let’s them stay.
What flows from there is natural and the slow burn romance between Jesse and Lena will make your heart so happy!
The female characters in this story are to be applauded, the author included, for the strength and determination and passion they possessed. Sure, the protagonist Lena may have been on the rescue, again, to her sister and nephew who badly needed her help. But her sister’s situation against her abusive husband wasn’t something to be frowned upon. With the help of Jesse, the brooding hero who at first reluctantly offered his B&B to the poor sisters, Lena had devised a plan that would solve their domestic problems. Or so she thought..
Rowan Revived is a masterfully written book that digs into your soul and tugs at your heartstrings. Colbert once again enamored me with her characters and their personalities, as well as the picturesque town where Rowan Inn nestled. Love the chemistry between Lena and Jesse and their storyline that had me sobbing and sniffling in the middle of the night, yet still made me hopeful for a brighter, sweeter, better tomorrow.
This is definitely another winner from TDC!

Rowan Revived was technically my third book from Taylor Danae Colbert, and to be honest, I didn’t enjoy the first book of hers, It Goes Without Saying, as much as I did the following two books, including Off the Record. Impressively, Taylor never fails to surprise me with her adventurous ways of telling the stories. I crave for the boldness in her writing style, and I feel a tremendous leap from It Goes Without Saying, to Off the Record, and now Rowan Revived, when she totally transforms a typical contemporary romance novel into one full of meaningful messages.
This book gives off a completely different vibe compared to Taylor’s previous works and I find myself utterly engrossed in the story of Jesse and Lena. Both characters have their baggage in life yet they somehow manage to embrace it with open arms. What I appreciate most about this book is the fact that there’s the depth in the genre of New Adult Contemporary I’ve never seen before.
Trigger warnings for abusive relationship and domestic violence here, and I actually love that Jesse and Lena’s romance isn’t just some sweet love story; they tackle serious issues by cleverly weaving the positive attitude we should have towards facing such problems through their growth as a couple. All in all, I’m really glad to see Taylor’s stories develop from cute, light-hearted reads to something profound and inspiring. 🙂
HIGHLY RECOMMEND both Rowan Revived and Off the Record if you haven’t read anything by Taylor yet! I initially thought I didn’t know which of them would be my top favorite of hers, but now I’m 100% sure Jesse and Lena have won me over…just a little bit more than Dax and Shay.
***Huge thanks to the author for providing me with an e-copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.***

Holy macaroni noodles!! Best. Book. EVER!
Taylor Danae Colbert has completely knocked the ball OUTTA the park with her new release, Rowan Revived!! If I was forced to choose a favorite, Rowan Revived would definitely be a top contender.
In Rowan Revived we meet Jesse, Lena, Milllie, and Caleb.
Caleb stole my heart from the get-go so he will definitely steal yours. Anywho, Lena will do anything to protect her sister and nephew from the buttwipe, Tiger. While fleeing to protect them, they come across this inn, Rowan Inn, and, oh my goodness, do sparks fly!
What I really loved about, Rowan Revived, was the protectiveness Lena felt over her sister and nephew. The risks she willingly took tugged at my heartstrings because you just do not see it that often. Then there is Jesse, who is struggling in his state of mind. Him being so lost made me cry more than a few times.
The way Taylor was able to transcribe the pain and emotional struggles of the characters is downright exceptional. She has this way with words that hooks you and refuses to let you go even after finishing her creation. She is a talented writer that leaves you begging for more!
Overall, Rowan Revived is hands down worth the one click. Heck, any book by Taylor is worth the one click! She is just that much of an amazing writer. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next. I’m crossing my fingers for another look into these characters!!
Taylor Colbert has written a exceptional read in the book! You have Jesse who’s this rugged, sexy man who has his own set of issues though and then there’s Lena who is trying to help family. The two collide in a story that will hav e you laughing, tearful and not being able to put this down. It comes out today, and you need to get yourself a copy! You won’t be disappointed in the least! I want to thank Taylor Colbert for my Arc and just know this one will do very well!
Taylor Danae Colbert has quickly become an author on the top of my favorite authors. Each time she writes a book she gives us something new and I honestly don’t think there is anything she can’t do. She’s made us laugh out loud with her romances, swoon over a rock star, feel girl power and now we see how important family is and that starting over can be a big healing process.
Lena has always been the strong one growing up and later in life she’s still her sister’s protector. Including the moment she picked up her whole life in Boston and ran with her sister and nephew. She doesn’t think of herself. As long as her loved ones are safe. She’s so strong and no one can break through her walls. Seeing what love has done to the people close to her, she doesn’t think it can get that bad if she doesn’t let a man in her life.
Jesse had a great childhood with very loving parents. His parents’ Inn was a success and he had every intention of taking it all when his parents wanted to retire. Until a car accident turned his world upside down. All he wants is to sell the Inn and get far away. Jesse has closed himself off of feeling anything and seems rude, sarcastic and not interested at all.
Both of these characters caught my attention from the start and I just wanted them all to be happy. Even Millie and Caleb (don’t get me started about this little boy, I think he was my favorite, haha). Jesse’s sister was an interesting one as well! All of these characters have been through a lot and just need a minute to breathe. Jesse made me irritated at first, haha. As I kept on reading, it was so clear why he acted the way he did.
Once these two start working together to get this Inn back to what it was, their true colors start coming through. I loved seeing them relax, have fun and maybe even start seeing a future where they could all be happy. I laughed, got frustrated, anxious and this book even had me in tears a couple of times. That’s not a bad thing though, because a book that makes me feel is an amazing book in my eyes.
Rowan Revived is so much more than just a romance. It’s about family, healing, second chances, love and hope. Things can turn around and you can be happy even when you don’t expect it to happen. The way this author described the setting makes me want to move to that town now. I can imagine myself in a rocking chair looking out to the water. I really came to love these characters and was sad when the story was over.
