This book opens with the men still off fighting Evander and the Chen empire being attacked regularly. Waverly is labor and Amber, now Dr. Chen, will be delivering the child. I love babies and apparently so to the Zansi ‘Z’ Warriors. Once Ari joins Waverly after the birth, Amber leaves the room to find her fifteen Z warriors waiting outside the door for news of the the mother and child.
While most of the women here have seen at least one of their husbands, Amber hasn’t seen hers since they left. With Evander blocking signals she hasn’t heard their voice or even received a message. She’s also been neglecting her treatments as the med machines have been needed for others far more critical. It’s Wade who reminds her that she has to take care of herself to take care of others.
With that behind her she is recovering from the treatment when she gets a very nice surprise.
Shane’s visit wouldn’t be a long one, but it was enough to brighten Amber’s mood even in these trying times.
Let me say here, I cried a lot, you will need plenty of tissues for this book. I also laughed, enjoyed the babies born and I really can’t say anything else without giving away the story.
As much as I love all of the characters in these books, Amber, Amari, Hunter and Shane have a special place in my heart. This book is full of surprises and some trials for all of them.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
I love this series and am always waiting for the next book. The futuristic concept is a great backdrop for strong female characters and the action is page turning
This is just the most recent book I’ve read in the Wings of Artemis series. I’ve loved each book I’ve read and I’m sorry that the series only has two books left. I highly recommend reading the series, although you don’t need to start with book one. You should start on an ‘odd’ numbered book since each heroine has two books for her story. Characters from previous books do pop up throughout and the storyline is best appreciated if you start from book 1, however. Love these books!
This series is well worth reading!
Not everyone can write reverse harem but this author sure can. This series has been one also that you dive right in but is hard to leave. Amber is the one you follow in this one plus she knows how to tug on the heart while she is at it. With her guys in the fight of their lives you also have drama that pulls you like the flow of “tides” in the emotional ring. With this so full of action and suspense along with the heat it generates you could drown in it. She is intriguing also I forgot to say thanks to her part. Thank goodness it is not over yet.
Amber is one of my favorite leading ladies of the series! She found her strength and purpose in the previous book and now she has become a doctor helping the people of the Chen Empire.
Amber Chan had made it to become a doctor the war was in full swing and she hadn’t seen her husbands months. She didn’t even know if the were alive. Her husbands had left 15 z warriors to protect her and Brenden was in charge. The Chen Empire was under constant attack from Enander.
All of Amber’s family and friends had gotten to see thier husbands but not her and she was feeling really down until Shane one of her husbands showed up for a night. And left her with two little surprises she never thought she would have.
The war goes on there are attacks, kidnaps, betrayal, drama, mystery, spice, and so much more to this story. It’s amazing. The characters pull you in because there fantastic but the story will keep you because it’s twists, turns and action are amazing. It truly an adventure not to be missed. Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly love it.
No spoilers of any kind included!
I don’t have the right words to describe this book except this and that is I absolutely loved it!
I was hooked before I even got to the second chapter and I stayed hooked until the very end of the story, which isn’t surprising since I always get hooked pretty fast when it comes to this Author’s books.
There are so many surprises and so many twists and turns that I was literally kept on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading this book.
Rebecca Royce is definitely one of my favorite authors especially since I’m always wanting and needing more of her stories.
So it’s gonna be a heck yeah I most definitely do recommend this book but if you haven’t read any of the books before this one, well then what are you waiting for this series is awesome!
I was so glad to see that Amber got her story in this series. She was so strong that her rise and how she carried herself and her husbands across space and war really needed to be told in three stories. When she was originally introduced way back, I didn’t think much of her. Boy am I glad I was wrong. Her story was as impacting as all of the other women. All of the people that cross Amber’s path are necessary to bring the entire story and human value together. I’m not sure if there will be more stories in this universe. I certain hope so. I have really enjoyed the characters and the world building that these stories bring.
Amber is still my favorite MC! I absolutely loved her and her husbands. This one was great start to finish. It had everything you could want in a story. I kind of wish we were getting even more than the two more books in this series so we could see what these Chen babies become. But, I could t be more excited for these last two books coming. The new girl, or who I think it will be, is beyond intriguing.
Rising Tides: A Reverse Harem Science Fiction Romance (Wings of Artemis Book 10) Kindle Edition
by Rebecca Royce
I received an eARC from the author and am choosing to leave an honest and fair review.
Action. Danger. Passion. Cinematic space battles and an author who understands what mind melt that time travel really is!
What could more could you ask?
How about a heroine who continues to grow throughout her two books! Amber is now a doctor and the fearful woman who measured every move and statement is gone. In her place, a strong, passionate woman who lives to heal at any cost to herself thrives even though she is missing her husbands. Shane, Hunter and Amari are out in the fleet, fighting against Evander Corporation, the most blatantly capitalist creation I have seen. A single night’s passion with one of her loves … Shhh. No spoilers from me!
The problem with any romance novel, no matter the subgenre, is there are very few plots and surprises left. Very little new ground exists. But Ms. Royce never fails to find it. I’m about to blow you away with a comparison – Her Wings of Artemis Universe could outstrip Star Wars. Yes, I am serious. Not only because there are no prequels! She has created a universe that is a deep well that could go way past the 12 books she has planned. And it is so real, you can taste the water. Her heroines go through real life moments that could exist this far in the future or here in our world today. Her heroes are more than abs, pecs and adonis belts. They are real men who want a world that is safe for their family and in the Chens’ case, the whole of humanity on the home world, Earth.
As I said, her space battles are awesome, even though we don’t see a lot of them. She remember space is a three dimensional battlefield, not a place for reenactments of WWI and WWII dogfights!
And she is the first author who doesn’t try to go through the mental gymnastics of trying to explain time travel with quantum this and wormhole that. Well done madam, well done.
I highly recommend this series of books. It is among my favorite series of all time
