Rising (The Candomble Guard Book 2) by Danielle Bellwood is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I am so hooked on and can not wait to read more. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about Sci-Fi and fantasy.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Eric and Dari have their work cut out for them here with being forced apart and each learning secrets of the world. It’s riveting and I could see the whole book playing out in my head like a movie. I could feel my heart pounding the whole awaiting to see what would happen next.
This is book 2 in this series and it’s another amazing book. I suggest reading this series in order, although this book does retell some of the background to certain events. But this doesn’t give the reader the full picture and reading book 1 would make this book a lot more enjoyable. The plot is brilliant, and the characters continue to grow in this book. There is so much going on and just when you think you have a handle on the story another twist comes into it. I’m looking forward to reading book 3 and seeing how the author ties up all these different subplots that are going on. If you enjoy dystopian books, then grab this one it’s different to a lot of the stories out there and is an awesome read.
ONE EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE!!!
Feel the thunder! Danielle delivers all the anarchy, fervent escapades and wreaking havoc with such ingenuity, imagination, along with intellect and a passion for detail, blasts this gem into a tizzy with a life altering, mind-blowing culmination. Unveiling an array of drama, intrigue, misgivings, underlying threats and mounting suspense, blasts this baby to life beautifully. Add turmoil, distress, doubt and chaotic situations, along with a boatload of trouble and dodging calamity, you have one prize winning masterpiece. A raging tempest chocked full of baffling circumstances and uncontrollable events, blasts those swirling emotions into play front and center. The characters are authentic, relatable and realistic with depth and on point personalities that blend and flow fluidly. The scenes are so graphically descriptive you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play out perfectly. Fantastic job Danielle, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

Wow, many twists and turns in this book. Eric is on the run, but when he takes a boat and rows away he ends up at an unexpected place that he didn’t know existed and with people he never knew were there. After being in a cell for a while the Sergeant decides to trust him and find out what he knows. This is the United States Armed Services and they have been looking for their missing comrades for 10 years. Meanwhile Dari has learned about the corruption in the council and that the person she thought she could trust after Jeni, Marc is also corrupted. Now she is working undercover with the Free Men (nomads) who she learns are not what she thought they were. War is coming, but who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?
