This is a beautiful book. We follow Tiegal, a woman with remarkable abilities, who lives in a world where love is forbidden. When she falls for a man a whole world away, she does everything and anything she can to stay with him. Her people want her back, and not for a good reason. And the new world she finds herself in has dangers of its own. I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book and loved the twists and turns. A fantastic time travel romance. Highly recommend.
Timeless Love
This sci fi time travel romance was filled with beautiful imagery and the author did a great job of setting up the story world. Her descriptive writing made it easy to immerse myself in the futuristic settings and the characters were engaging. The beginning takes some time to get into but is well worth the journey as it sets the stage for the romance between Tiegal and Johannes to begin and the theme of a timeless love transcending dystopian societies was wonderful. Would recommend to sci-fi and time travel romance lovers who enjoy a detailed story world.
Release is a boundary breaking book that seamlessly crosses genres mixing a dystopian world, time travel and ageless romance into a book that will make you think about love and life.
Tiegal a girl blossoming into womanhood dreams of Johannes a young man from the past on earth. She must break rules, travel through time and leave everything she knows and loves behind if she is to be with the man of her dreams. I loved the premise of love breaking all boundaries.
A great book that will make you think long after you’ve put it down.
I loved this book! Strong woman from space who knows what she wants? Check. A hot man in touch with his emotions? Check. A plot I couldn’t guess every step of? Check.
If you want a witty book that will keep you turning the pages grab this one. The worlds are well developed, the writing is on point, and the characters are amazing.
A fascinating concept with an amazing setting. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tiegal and Johannes are an extraordinary couple who must overcome some difficult challenges to be together. The author has created a very unique world and the story kept me turning pages to find out what happened next. I’m looking forward to book two. What a great first book in the series.
Release by Naomi E Lloyd
In a well ordered world where thoughts can be heard and words tasted, love is forbidden. Across space and time, threatened by the ruling elite can Tiegal reach the man she loves?
First in the Tandro series, Release takes us on an adventure that grips the imagination and whirls us into a world of colour, courage and destiny.
EDIT: *After reading Exchange, the last book from this saga, I definitely recommend reading this book. Even though the beginning of the story didn’t convince me, it’s final totally worth it.*
Tiegal is an 18-year-old girl, about to live her Release ceremony in which the youth of Tandro receive their Derado. A jewel capable of channeling their energy.
In Tandro interpersonal relationships have been eliminated. Babies are made with carbon donations from selected volunteers, in a pool with diamonds, which gives them the energy to grow.
One of the greatest effects of this form of reproduction are the eyes of the Tandroans. Their pupils have a diamond shape and shine like flashlights.
Tiegal feels totally out of place. Unlike others, she is unable to hide her thoughts and can read even those that others try to hide. This can be very problematic if your thoughts are constantly questioning the way of life and the robotic system that has created its leader, Atla.
Her dreams don’t help either. Always the same man, with animal eyes (according to Tiegal he has animal eyes because they don’t have a bright pupil), while she is enclosed in a bubble and tries to approach. Tiegal is sure that her destiny is to meet that man.
When Release day finally arrives, Tiegal receives her Derado. With it, she travels mysteriously to the world of the man of her dreams.
Until here the book was pretty confusing for me, as I couldn’t fully understand Tandro functioning. But once Tiegal and Johannes meet things became a little more interesting. While both feel they are destined to be together, their different worlds create quite funny situations between them.
To be honest, it meant a giant effort for me to finish this book. I just didn’t quit because I don’t like to leave books halfway, but it couldn’t keep my interest. However, the basic idea is excellent and not badly developed. In addition, all the facts are linked in time and space in a splendid way. However, this book was not for me.
I feel awful about making a bad review of a book, so I want to make it clear that it is only my perspective and if you like the style you may love it. It is basically a pink novel, in which the relationship becomes very important, especially in the descriptions, which probably made it boring for me. Also, I never connected with Tiegal. It seems to me that her reactions are exaggerated, and she always acts without thinking, which was understandable in the beginning, but she never seemed to grow. Johannes also disappointed me towards the end of the book.
It also has sexual content, not explicit but pretty clear.

Time Travel Sci Fi Fantasy with a Sparkle of Romance
I loved the fantasy world that Naomi Llyod built. It was magical, and other worldly.
The main character is Tiegal, who is a young woman trying to find her way in the futuristic world, where she lives. She’s darling and I found myself rooting for her from the very beginning.
Tiegal resides under a tyrant ruler, who has created a way of life that does not allow for intimate connection or touch. There’s a problem though, for she carries a deep secret- Tiegal’s not like everyone else. Her journey begins with her trying to come to terms and understand why she craves love and connection, unlike the others of her world. Why is she so different and where does she come from?
Tiegal keeps seeing a hot young man in her visions. He’s from another time and place, yet she feels a deep longing for him.
Will she ever know him for real or will he just live forever in her dreams?
If your a fan of sci-fi fantasy with an added sparkle of romance, this one is for you!
