Usually I am not a fan of romantic stories. I read the book because it is part of my reading challenge and I was absolutely thrilled. I was so curious of how the relationship between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy will evolve, that I wasn’t able to put this book down.

Jane Austin’s skills of observation are unmatched! Her sly, tongue-in-cheek prose is hilarious as it describes her shallow characters and their apparent inability to change their circumstances … or even their inability to see the desirability of changing their circumstances. Wonderfully imperfect people and witty dialogue kept me turning the pages!

I enjoy all of Jane Austen’s novels, but this one definitely one of my favorites. I discovered it in college and have re-read it several times in the years since.

One of the best books ever. Started me on the genre when I was a teen. That was in the 60s.

For those that know me, I am a big fan of Austen’s works. Pride and Prejudice is probably my favourite among all of her books.
For those who’ve never given it a chance, please do! Elizabeth is a joy to get to know. The ups and downs of her family is engaging and, most importantly, her romance with Mr Darcy is one of the greatest love stories I’ve read.

Jane Austin…need I say more? This is the basis for most current Rom-Coms. If you have not read Pride & Prejudice, all I can say is, “Puh-shaw!!! And you call yourself a reader!!! Harumph!”
Jane Austin wrote with such a wit, nobody can ever compare.

Games people play to attract one another hasn’t changed in hundreds of years. This story about a very mannered time is quite funny in its own way.

I had a lot of fun reading this book. It’s become one of my favorite books ever. Elizabeth, and Mr.Darcy’s relationship is just so beautiful to read about. It felt like a real relationship. They didn’t get along at first, but they came to realize their faults. This is just another great book Jane Austin wrote, and it’s wonderful like always. I’ll definitely be reading this one again.
