One cannot say enough about Jane Austen. Seldom does a body of work consistently reward. Austen accomplished this at a time when women, like children, were expected to be seen and not heard. She was heard.

I ended up needing a dictionary to understand a few words, but that’s okay. I enjoyed this book. This is a definitely a classic in my opinion.

It was amazing! Elizabeth’s intentions were true even though what happened to her was uncalled for.

This is undoubtedly Jane Austen’s most popular novel, and rightfully so. I’ve read it several times and still enjoy it today.

An undying classic which deserved a thorough read. I am happy I gave it some undivided attention, as I found myself loving it just as much as I did the film adaptation as it first came out, and NOT TO FORGET, the mini-series with Colin Firth, because… Hello! Mr Darcy!! Who doesn’t like the strangely aloof, handsome man who ends up being nothing …

The characters in this book are well developed. The witty comments of the father are some of my favorite in literature.

I feel a bit rich writing a review for a Jane Austen book. It was the first book that came to mind when prompted with the “what is your favorite book?” question.
For those who may pass through my profile who haven’t read this book, it’s a classic for a reason. Austen’s writing style is everything a reader wants or needs to be transported into …

I think I’m the only person who wasn’t in love with this book. Maybe all the hype has let me down second time reading it this time as an adult and still not that great

Must read! If you haven’t read this you are missing out on one of the greatest books of all time. Her other novels are great too, especially Emma. Austen is the queen of dialogue and capturing the time period of her books. But her characters still resonate today.

If I’m being completely honest, and I always try to be, I almost abandoned this book. Yes, I know. It’s embarrassing. I almost abandoned a classic. And, a classic that probably best resembles the type of writing I aspire to create. But.
I didn’t abandon it, and I couldn’t be happier with my resolute determination, very similar to that of …

This is one of my favorite books of all time. I love the language of the era and the customs that come through. There are many humorous moments as Elizabeth’s mother seeks to match her daughters up with eligible young men. Even though the book is not current, the themes are quite current. Who hasn’t been embarrassed by an overly eager family …
