“None of this matters, and we’re all going to die.”With only three days left until the predicted apocalypse, the small town of Franklin Springs, Georgia, has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, abandoned homes, abandoned businesses, and abandoned people. People like Rainbow Williams.Rain isn’t afraid of dying. In fact, she’s looking forward to it. If she can just outrun her pain until April 23, … outrun her pain until April 23, she’ll never have to feel it at all.
“Supplies. Shelter. Self-defense.”
Wes Parker has survived every horrible thing this life has thrown at him with nothing more than his resourcefulness and disarming good looks. Why should the end of the world be any different? All he needs are some basic supplies, shelter, and a sucker willing to help him out, which is exactly what he finds when he returns to his hometown of Franklin Springs.
As society crumbles, dangers mount, and secrets refuse to stay buried, two lost souls are thrust together in a twist of fate—one who will do anything to survive and one who can’t wait to die.
Perhaps, together, they can learn how to live.
Before their time runs out.

I AM IN LOVE WITH WES & RAIN
“Nothing matters, and we are all going to die”…..And that’s exactly the voice with which B.B. Easton tells the story of Wes and Rain IN PRAYING FOR RAIN….It’s how she masterfully paints their desolate, horrifying and beautiful picture…..I could feel their fear…I could feel their despair, the hopelessness…..I could feel their losses…I could feel the death all around them….And I could definitely feel their love….
Rainbow Williams meets Wesson Parker when it appears a much needed stop for food will cost Rain her life….In apocalyptic Franklin Springs, Georgia, most life is of no value…….And after all of the unspeakable things Rain has lived through, all of the loss, her life just doesn’t even matter to her anymore…. “Nothing matters, and we are all going to die”…..so there’s also that……..
Wes is a survivalist, and he’s not going to just lay down and give up…After he saves Rain from sure rape and death, he takes her with him…..Wes is emotionally detached and has a hard time letting his guard down,,…He even tries to convince himself he’s just using Rain…because he doesn’t get attached….until he does….
Rain is mature for 19, but she has lived in a hell of her parents making, and so has Wes…….They are both broken, lonely people, and I just wanted to hug them both…..But in this uncertain world in which they are living, they realize there is purpose for them to be together…..Can two broken people put each other and themselves back together….
PRAYING FOR RAIN will without a doubt be one of my best reads of 2020…and The Rain Trilogy will go in my Favorite Series of All Time List…
No more surviving ! Time for living !
I loved this !!!
Full of emotion, adventure and action , some suspense some steamy lovin and two lost souls trying to find hope in and with each other !!!
I devoured this book!! And I cannot wait to read the next one !
Awesome story beautifully written !!!
Wes just wants to survive.
Until. He. Meet. Rain.
Rain just wants the world to end, to take her pain and sorrow with it.
Until. She. Meets. Wes.
Everything changes for the pair once they meet up and as a reader, I loved it. I have had such a reader slump for the past few months and this book, Praying for Rain was the first book in a long time that I genuinely did not want to put down. I tore though it and loved every piece. I could not wait to start book two. I wanted it asap!!
Praying for Rain has everything, action, emotion, uncertainty, danger, fear of what is to come. I understand why everyone loved this book when it came out and I am glad I waited so that I could read this trilogy almost back to back. As soon as I finished Praying, I picked up Fighting. I love how BB can tell a story, she has a gift of words that never disappoints.
One word “WOW”
I don’t even know where to begin. This book was out of this word! I can’t not put into words all the feelings and emotions that I felt reading this story.
I’m in complete and utter awe of the depth of the characters, the symbolism and hidden meanings of almost every aspect of the story.
The twist and turns, the underlying meaning that slowly unfolds. It leaves you questioning what will happen next and thinking back to what actually happened trying to figure out the meaning behind it.
All I can say without giving anything away is that is story is absolutely amazing!
Amazing start to a awesome trilogy!!
What a amazing start to a great trilogy! Loved this apocalyptic dystopian love story ! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Rain and Wes in Fighting Rain ! I absolutely fell in love with Rain and the chemistry between her and Wes was palpable, this was a unique and different story but was very captivated and intrigued from the beginning. I definitely recommend this book and it definitely gets 5 stars from me !
Wow, this story blew me away! I love this unique take on an apocalyptic world and the unexpected connection between two completely different people.
Rainbow ‘Rain’ Williams is a girl that has given up and is just counting down the days until the world ends. My heart broke for Rain. She’s a fragile soul with a messed up family and lives on mind numbing pills to survive the hell that is her life. While she’s waiting, she “meets” Wes Parker at her local burger place and is immediately swept into the world of survival.
The angst and banter between these two is entertaining and I loved how Wes brought Rain out of her funk. He may be bitter and angry but he is also the only person that may help Rain see that there is a chance to live past the apocalypse yet to come. Wes is just as fragile and scared of a future as Rain, but he is at his heart a survivor. I love his angsty, bitter attitude and his very hidden sweet, soft heart when it comes to the emotionally fragile Rain.
While this story may end in a cliffhanger, it really doesn’t detract from the strange and interesting world BB Easton has created. I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what will happen to Rain and Wes.
There are so many things I can say about this book but the first thing I have to say is that BB Easton is a damn liar! She once told me that she wrote about her life because she wasn’t creative enough to come up with anything else.
She’s Wrong.
Praying for Rain was everything I could’ve asked for and more. The grit and angst, the sexy times and the unknown were all weaved together in the only way BB knows how to write…pure perfection. I’m sad it went so fast but excited to know it will continue.
I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just leave you with a quote (one of many) I fell in love with.
‘All I can do is stand here and let her cut me open. That’s what her trail of kisses feels like-the slice of a fucking scalpel. She’s peeling back my layers, exposing all of my unlovable insides, and she’s pretending that she likes what she sees.’
Wow! It is really hard for me to get into dystopian stories, but I was hooked from the very beginning with Praying for Rain! This is not normally the troupe of books I read, but this book was EVERYTHING I didn’t know I was missing in my life! This book literally has everything – romance, laughter, tears and so much more! Wes and Rain were amazing! I cannot wait to finish this trilogy! FIVE STARS!!
Mother of all things holy! This is PERFECTION.
I honestly had no idea what to expect with this book; I just knew I had to read it because B.B. Easton wrote it (duh). I am left in awe and am having a really hard time forming coherent thoughts and words. I can only come up with one thought: This is PERFECTION.
A measure of a true artist (author) is when they can be successful in their craft amongst multiple genres and sub-genres. This book is so completely different than her first series, but is SOOOO good! I love when I can see growth as an author. B.B. Is no exception. It just keeps getting better and better (and it was pretty dang good the first time around).
Praying for Rain left me NEEDING, CRAVING, STARVING, and PRAYING for the remaining books in this trilogy! I cannot wait!
FIVE HUGE, APOCASIZED STARS FOR THIS WORK OF ART!
This was different but so good. I was sucked into the world and needed to know more. Not only are Rain and Wes at a crossroads with what is going on in the world, they end up finding each other, even if it’s just physical at that point. The angst and anticipation had me on the edge and now I can’t wait to read the next one.
***4,5 “Fuck ’em!!!” stars***
“You saved me, Wes. And every time you look at me, you do it all over again!”
I used to love dystopian books very much, and after this book I still do.
I ‘m finding really appealing the what ifs that a dystopian book can offer…
What if the end was about to end in three days and you knew exactly the certain date?
What people would do???
Will they keep living like they used to or chaos will erapt all around???
Well, i think it’s inevitable for chaos to erapt and in here, we witnessed it first hand!!!!
The chaos that something like that will bring to all around the world…
“None of this matters, and we’re all going to die.”
And in the middle of this chaos and with only three days left for the apocalpse, two lost souls are finding each other…
Not by choice, of course, but by accident…
Wes is in the right place in the right time, when Rain needs some help…
And Rain is the one that Wes needs to stay focus on the plan…
Supplies. Shelter. Self-defense.
But will he stay focus after all, or Rain will turn his well planned life upside down???
“I see the real Rain. Underneath all those fake smiles and that sassy attitude is a black ocean of sadness crashing against a crumbling lighthouse of hope.”
“Maybe, one day, being treated like I matter won’t hurt so goddamn much, but I hope not. I hope it guts me every time, forever, as a reminder that this girl is a fucking miracle.”
Well, Rainbow was a girl that had faced lots of losses…
She is a girl that she had accepted the fact that everyone was going to die and she was very fond of that ending…
She just have to survive this pain for a few more days…
And then Wes is tumbling into her life and his presence subside some of the hollow feelings inside of her…
Is it too much to hope when you’re running out of time???
“Wes was my only hope. My only shot at life after April 23. Without him, my hours are numbered. Without him, I don’t want the ones I have left.”
“I’m attracted to the boy in him and scared of the man in him, and I’m pretty sure I’d take a bullet for both of them even though I don’t even know their last name.”
Wes, had returned to his hometown in order to survive…
He is a survivor and he is so sure that he will survive the apocalypse…
He just has to stay focused and he needs a little bit help from a crazy girl which are making holes into his perfect plan… And she is turning his feeling on knots…
What is it about this girl and why is he keep coming back for her, even though she is getting him on trouble all the damn time???
“What could you possibly prioritize over surviving?” Rain asks, becoming eye-level with me as she steps onto the first rung of the tree-house ladder.
“Living.”
Supplies? Check.
Shelter? Check.
Self-defense? Check.
Slightly psychotic teenager with a pill habot, daddy issues and impylse control problems? Jackpot.
What an awesome ride was that!!!
I loved Rain and Wes, i was feeling sympathy of what they had go through their lives…
In a destroyed world, they gave each other hope and solace…
And honestly, i can not wait to see how this story will play out after all…
Cause 23th of April is coming and the four horsemen that are ruling everyone’s dreams are coming… Or not????
“The only thing that matters right now is that, if I die tomorrow -and I very well might- it will be with a smile on my face and Wesson Patrick Parker by my side.”
This is my first book by BB Easton. Once I read the blurb I HAD to get my hands on it. This is definitely a unique kind of read. The story line was fantastic. The timing of the storyline is just before the apocolypse, but the twist and story execution is original and intriguing.
I was so captivated by this story that I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. The chemistry between Wes and Rain is undeniable and smoking hot. Two lost souls that find each other during an impending apocalypse.
I loved reading Wes and Rain’s story and can’t wait to read more in this series. I absolutely loved BB Easton’s writing in this story and I absolutely fell in love with Wes and Rain.
Book 1 is excellent
I wasn’t really sure where this book would lead me but it hooked me from the start and I couldn’t put it down! I can only imagine how April 24th will be after all that went down leading up to April 23rd. Book 2 can’t come out fast enough so we can see what happens! Rain and Wes are fabulous!
My first read of 2020 and a new to me author! I have heard all great things about this book. I don’t think I got quite what I was expecting but that isn’t to say that I didn’t enjoy the ride anyway. There is a romance here and I liked Wes a whole lot. Rain had her moments but you come to understand her. I really like the concept that the world knows the date of the apocalypse before it’s coming. Human nature is a fascinating thing anyway but you mix in the end times and you really find out who a person is. I look forward to getting the rest of this story very soon since books two and three will be out this month. So if you haven’t read this yet then go ahead and pick it up. It’s also a quick read that grabs you instantly and keeps you there.
HOLY FREAKING MOLY! This story was hands down one of the BEST dystopian romances that I have ever read!
Praying for Rain by BB Easton was f*cking brilliant and the author’s flawless storytelling ability was so addictively captivating that I found myself devouring it in one sitting because it was nearly impossible to put down! Wes and Rain meet in the middle of disaster, just a few days before the end of the world. Together the two of them find HOPE and reasons to FIGHT and LIVE. Their chemistry left me SPEECHLESS and I found myself FALLING in love with them.
This story was insane and that cliffhanger ending had me screaming at the top of my lungs and praying for Fighting for Rain to magically appear on my kindle moments after reaching the end. I want…no I NEED book two right now and I don’t know how I will make it through this LONG wait!
Normally I won’t rate a book that ends on a cliffhanger without a warning in the blurb as 5 stars, but this was such a fun read that was hard to put down, I couldn’t rate it otherwise.
People are having the same dream, the world is coming to an end and soon. While out grabbing food, Rain gets rescued and then kidnapped by Wes. But it’s not as horrible as she expected, especially because once he’s done with her, he doesn’t mind her hanging around. That and she doesn’t really have another place to go.
What follows is a dystopian romance infused with laugh out loud humor. With such things written as “The waiting around to die thing is killing me.” you can’t help but laugh out loud at Rain’s antics. She exhibits signs of PTSD, but it would be way too soon for that kind of diagnosis. And despite her special brand of weird, she is so much stronger than she realizes.
I liked Wes, even if his own past had him building up walls that were hard to break down. I like the two of them together and the scenes between them are *hot*. This was such a fun read that once I started, I didn’t want to stop. I hadn’t read Easton before this book, but she’s definitely got a new fan.
Reading the book waiting for something to happen. Get through to the end, something finally happens AND IT’S A FREAKIN’ CLIFFHANGER!!!! Arrrrggggh!!! It’s a trilogy. I love B.B. Easton, but not this. Very disappointing.
This book is amazing! You have to read it right now! I loved every thrilling second of this story. There was so.many secrets and action that had my heart racing. Wes and Rain were so good together. I wanted them to work their problems out quick and not waste their time together. I can’t wait for more books in this series. I need the rest of this story right now!
5 STARS for my first novel by B.B. Easton! She slayed this novel! What a unique and haunting idea for a romance story! I think the most shocking part is, that you can actually imagine it happening right here, right now. Yes, it has an apocalyptic/dystopian theme around the end of days but everything about this read is modern and current.
Rainbow and Wes were some of the most courageous, street smart, resourceful young adults I’ve probably ever read about in a “romance” novel. There is no brave prince and damsel in distress vibe. This is an every man for himself scenario that just so happens to take a pleasant turn. Wes is ruthless and Rain proves that she can hang with the best of them.
The suspense and drama was epic and the romance was sizzling! The friendship and chemistry that the two main characters forged throughout the novel was grew around a need to survive, but you could definitely feel the sweetness and compassion they had for one another.
I cannot wait for the next book in this trilogy! The cliffhanger ending had me dropping my jaw to the floor in shock.

Review:
I don’t know what to say to properly express my thoughts on this book. It wasn’t what I expected at all. By reading the blurb I was expecting an apocalypse and I was really in the mood for that. But it isn’t exactly what we got. I was surprised by what we did get, I didn’t expect that. It wasn’t something I’ve read before and it’s a nice concept, just unexpected.
Anyhow, another word that comes to mind when I think about this book is random. Thats how it felt throughout this entire book. I didn’t feel the connection between Rain (Rainbow, silly name I know) and Wes. It really is insta love because after a few hours these two where so attached/possessive of each other, and after 3 days (the entire span of the book) they where in love.
If you like insta lust/love stories then you might like this book but I don’t care much for it. I get and don’t mind insta lust but I want to see a connection there, I want to see it grow and make sense, for it to be believable for me, but I didn’t feel that with these two.
Allot of things fell just off for me.
While I’m curious to see how this story turns out, I’m not jumping up and down with excitement for it. If I don’t have anything else to read I might pick up the next book in this series, but I could live without not reading it.
