“None of this matters, and we’re all going to die.”With only three days left until the predicted apocalypse, the small town of Franklin Springs, Georgia, has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, abandoned homes, abandoned businesses, and abandoned people. People like Rainbow Williams.Rain isn’t afraid of dying. In fact, she’s looking forward to it. If she can just outrun her pain until April 23, … outrun her pain until April 23, she’ll never have to feel it at all.
“Supplies. Shelter. Self-defense.”
Wes Parker has survived every horrible thing this life has thrown at him with nothing more than his resourcefulness and disarming good looks. Why should the end of the world be any different? All he needs are some basic supplies, shelter, and a sucker willing to help him out, which is exactly what he finds when he returns to his hometown of Franklin Springs.
As society crumbles, dangers mount, and secrets refuse to stay buried, two lost souls are thrust together in a twist of fate—one who will do anything to survive and one who can’t wait to die.
Perhaps, together, they can learn how to live.
Before their time runs out.

Apocalyptic romance at its finest, I devoured this book and want more! Masterful writing, vivid setting, wonderful characters. I loved how broken Rain and Wesson were; one waiting to die, the other determined to survive. Together, they’re raw, scared, passionate… perfect.
What a brilliant and unique story that takes on an unforgettable journey through the final days of the apocalypse. We follow Rain, the pill popping girl who long for death, and Wes, the man who saves her and hates her all at the same time. Two broken souls, navigating their final days who find more than they ever thought possible in each other whilst the world is burning around them, and four horsemen are drawing closer with every setting sun.
Praying for Rain pulled me in from the very beginning. It’s been a while since I’ve read a dystopian book, but I have never read such a unique story about the end of the world. People believe the end of the world will happen on April 23, they have all been having dreams about the four horsemen of the apocalypse for the last year. This story follows Rain, a 19 year old girl who has already lost everything and is just waiting for the end to take all her pain away, and Wes, a guy who will do anything to survive. The first half of the book was more setting the scene and a little slow, but by the middle I got so invested in the characters that I couldn’t put it down. Even though this is book one of a trilogy, the ending gave me closure without leaving me hanging and biting my nails for the next release. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of reading the chapter one of book 2 that was available at the end of the story…. big mistake! Now I am dying to know what happens in Fighting for Rain because that first chapter throws a big wrench into Wes and Rain’s life!
5 RAIN AND WES STARS!! Holy cow….what did I just read?!?! PERFECTION….my world could end with Wes by my side. This book is phenomenal!!! Wes and Rain have a fantastic story to tell you and you need to hear it. I loved this book and I need Book 2… NOW. Download this book, it is so worth your money and time.
O-m-f-g.
I’m not sure how long it has been since I opened a book, and closed it only after I read the very last word. I didn’t even realize that hours had passed, I looked up and suddenly it was midnight. I don’t loose track of time, I’m a mom…
AND I DEVOURED THIS.
You must understand, this was not a book that I was looking forward too. This is NOT my typical read. If this were in a line up, I would have picked it last . Yet here I am absolutely gutted that it’s over.
One of my biggest pet peeves in the Romance genre is “Instalove”. Nothing bores me more, but you know what? B.B. Easton has found way to make it work! I LOVED Rain and Wes… They are both so beautifully broken, that you can help but swoon when they come together. Even though their story is told over a matter of days, the heartbreak and devastation that each have faced, makes their love truly believable.
Praying for Rain is Book 1, in a 3-part series. I only wish I didnt have to wait until the Fall to find out what happens next… If you’re in a book slump, or tired of reading the same old thing, checkout Praying for Rain. It will not disappoint!
The end of the World is coming in three days. The world has turned savage and Rainbow “rain” Williams just wants the end to come without any extra hassle. Too bad in this world that won’t be happening when she gets taken by a hottie named Wes. This book, wow! This is the first book I’ve read from BB Easton and definitely need more! This had everything from action, suspense, Hotness and I need book 2 now! Wes and Rain and perfect together. Told in dual POV and ends in a cliffhanger.
BB Easton is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! I’ve read everything she’s written, and loved it all. I was extremely excited when she announced she was writing another book, but a little wary when I found out it was going to be a book about the apocalypse. I’ll read anything, but I’ve read books about the end of the world and felt meh. But this was BB Easton, so I knew I had to see what she’d bring.
And she did not disappoint!
Praying for Rain is so much more than what I expected it to be.
Rainbow Williams is done with life. The world she knows has turned into a wasteland, and she’s waiting for it to end. For Rainbow there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
Wes Parker is the opposite of that. He’s not going down without a fight. For Wes people have their different uses after which they are discarded, and when he meets Rainbow he keeps her around cause she’s resourceful. Atleast at first that’s the only reason, and it morphs into so much more.
This book is amazing, and BB does the opposites attract theme so well. The characters are entertaining as heck, and like all of BB’s other books, have their distinctive voice. Even admist all ofthe chaos and melancholy, BB manages to inject that signature humour of hers in certain scenes.
I loved Praying for Rain, and am eagerly anticipating the next book in the series. I can’t wait to see what Rain and Wes do next and where BB takes them.
4.5 stars.
Whenever it comes to writing a review for one of BB’s books I am left speechless. She can do no wrong. Her books are just PERFECT, so it’s only natural that I am at a loss for words.
Initially, I was on the fence about reading Praying for Rain since it’s so out of my typical genres. But leave it to BB to lure you into this world of craziness with such vivid prose, great characters and some mad storytelling skills. Wes and Rain’s story just solidified BB’s place as one of my favorite authors of all time and I highly recommend this as one of my top 2019 reads. I purposely didn’t delve into details. Just dive right in an let it ruin you for all other books in the most wonderful way.
Praying for Rain completely blew me away. I knew I needed this book the second it was announced. I was not disappointed. From the very first page, BB Easton captivated me with her effortless and vivid imagery and her gritty and unique storyline. I absolutely loved everything about this book. I never would have considered myself an apocalyptic romance fan but I can honestly say Praying for Rain is one of my favorite books I’ve read this year.
I am pretty much obsessed with Rain and Wes. I enjoyed their depth and their complexity. Not to mention their insane chemistry. Both characters are dealing with their circumstances differently. One is determined to fight and survive. While the other is ready for it all to end. I loved that even though Wes didn’t want to be attached to anyone he couldn’t help but care for Rain. He was gruff and at times a jerk but underneath all his hardness I felt his pain, his sadness and his loneliness.
I have to be honest. If BB’s name was not attached to this book, I most likely would have passed this one by. And that’s a shame because I’m crazy for this book. I love that this author has the ability to take me out of my comfort zone. She helps me discover new worlds and expands my imagination.
Praying for Rain is a must read!! I can’t wait to continue this trilogy!!
HOLY SMOKES! I’ve been excited about this book since I saw BB post a teaser about it (what feels like forever ago). When I had it in my hot hands I thought… But.. what what if I over-hyped this to myself and what if I don’t like it? I’m the biggest book snob I know! What if I think it’s terrible and I sink into a sad spiral of sad and… Well, finally I snapped out of it and thought ok. I’ll just read it, and see what happens. OMFG I swear it’s not even been live for more than 24 hours and I’m sitting here kicking myself for the few hours I was wishy washy and didn’t start it! GAH! I loved this book so freaking hard. I seriously cannot WAIT for the next one! CAN. NOT. WAIT. Write faster BB!!!
5 apocalyptic stars!
A world thrown into chaos, a bad boy who wants to live, a good girl who wants to die, and the four horsemen of the apocalypse breathing down everyone’s backs, Praying for Rain is an intense, emotional start to the Praying for Rain Trilogy. It has the perfect mix of action, mystery, and suspense, and fire, fun, and feels, and I couldn’t stop from devouring it!
For the last several months everyone has been dreaming of the end of the world. Though the nightmares are unique to each person, four faceless cloaked riders haunt them at night. The world is in a panic and there’s murder, mayhem, and so much destruction already. Hope and despair and everything in between drives people as they wait for the apocalypse, including Wes and Rain, two opposite souls who dream of beginnings just as life is ending.
Wes Parker grew up in foster care and never had the loving family every child deserves. Once he aged out of the system, he got as far away as he could. Now he’s back in town seeking the only thing that may save him in a place he hates. He has so much regret, guilt, and pain on his shoulders but he doesn’t let it stop him. He wants to live and he will do anything to make that happen, including kidnapping a girl.
Rainbow Williams just wants to make it until April 23rd and then all of her pain will go away. She is living with heartbreak and she deals with it the only way she knows how. She’s vulnerable, hurting, and lonely, and the perfect person for Wes to use. She can help him get what he needs to survive apocalypse but he is not expecting the spark between them that he wishes would just go away.
I quickly became invested in Rain and Wes’ lives and their survival. They are intelligent, strong, and refuse to give up even when they are facing the end of the world. My heart broke for what they lived through and I understood how both were feeling. They are broken and flawed, and their pasts influenced the people they are today.
Wes and Rain didn’t get along at first and it brought some delicious sexual tension to life. They have fantastic chemistry, and their desire, desperation, and heat is believable. Their attraction is intense but it is the understanding, acceptance, and emotion that really change things between them. Wes sees Rain differently as he gets glimpse into her soul and the pain and heartache she harbors but refuses to acknowledge.
“She sighs and drops the attitude. It only lasts a second, but in that moment, I see the real Rain. Underneath all those fake smiles and that sassy attitude is a black ocean of sadness crashing against a crumbling lighthouse of hope.”
And Rain gets into Wes’ head when he least expects it and has an equalling astounding affect on him.
“I’ve finally found what I’ve been missing my whole life, and if I keep it, it will kill me.
No wonder Rain was wearing a black hoodie when I met her.
She’s the fifth fucking horseman of the apocalypse.”
Though the story is dark and gritty and deals with difficult themes, surprising humor in an otherwise bleak time lightens the mood. There is the right amount of fun added to the darkness around them. The world is ending and yet Wes and Rain somehow find happiness. Together, they change everything and have a reason to live despite imminent demise coming for them.
“I don’t look back, and I don’t let go. I run hand in hand with this beautiful stranger, over roots and beneath branches, feeling more alive than I ever have.”
The story is fast paced and well-written. The anticipation that came with each page I turned was exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. There’s a wonderful air of mystery and suspense that kept me captivated while I desperately wanted Rain and Wes to make it out alive. There are twists and turns as the story unfolds, and then there is that ending! I have so many questions and I am excited to continue the trilogy! Fall 2019 cannot come soon enough!
This is the first book I have read by BB Easton and it defiantly will not be the last. Not only do I need more of Rain and Wes, but I need more of Easton’s writing! Her character development, word craft, and imagination are fantastic, and I can’t wait to see what else she brings us!!
This end of the world story is bleeping brilliant. The storyline was funny, heart felt, complex, and somewhat dark. I felt like the behavior of Franklin Springs was being tested. There was no Southern hospitality. Everyone was into for themselves. Everyone seemed to fighting over the last raise of freedom through sex, drugs, and straight up violence.
Rain and Wes are two characters that were each others opposite. One wanted to survive. While other waited for the end. I didn’t know what was worse. Was it worse trying to survive and have it go nowhere? Was it worse to ignore the situation and wait for the end? I kept questioning the survival or the waiting game throughout the story. I finally came to the conclusion that Wes and Rain needed each other. Not for survival. Not for waiting until the end. They needed each in order to live. Even through your final moments, you have to be willing to live.
There were so many emotional moments throughout the story, which literally tugged at my dark heart strings. I felt the pain of Wes’ past. I felt the pain of Rain’s struggle to cope. I literally felt it all. I was happy that the author lightened the mood with remarkable banter. This isn’t the END per say… There is more road to cover.
BB Easton is a straight literary genius. This book was a giant step away from her previous books and I was chomping at the bit to get my greedy little hands on it.
Praying for Rain is a violent, heart breaking, soul searching, fight for your life romance that will keep you enthralled to the very last page (and then the sneak peak chapter at the end that I was also scared to read I might add because the next book seems so far away. )
Wes and Rain are everything. Both strong characters, each with their own pasts and struggles, searching for a way to help themselves and each other in the hopelessness of the world of tomorrow.
This book is not just an apocalyptic tale. It is a story about survival and facing your fears, even if that fear is actually having something to lose.
A different piece of the story unfolds at every turn. Eventhough there is still so much that needs happen, so many questions to be answered, BB manages to keep us full from the tiny morsels she fed. I find myself already wanting to read it all over again just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
” It’s the end of the world as we know it ”
WOW!! This book was exhilarating reading from start to finish. I admit I’m a bit obsessed with anything Apocalyptic so I was excited to read this one.
I fell in love with the cover too.
Three days until the end of the world that’s what Rainbow Williams tells herself and all the pain will be over.
Wes Parker is a bit more optimistic the apocalypse can kiss his ass. He’s always looked out for himself he’s a born survivor that won’t go down without a fight.
I loved the way Wes and Rain met I can’t decide if it was coincidence or a twist of fate that bought them together, I’d like to think it was meant to be.
From the minute they meet its clear they need each other more than they care to admit. The world is in Chaos, people have gone crazy, fear is a palpable thing. Time is running out and the clock is ticking.
This book was a uniquely different read, I was captivated with Wes and Rain I loved the intensity of their relationship. I couldn’t help but root for them.
I’m already excited for the next part, I can’t wait to see what B.B has instore even if I’m slightly terrified to find out.
BB just owned Apocalyptic Romance, and yes, that is a genre, and if it not BB just made it one.
Praying For Rain is unlike anything I have ever read.
A badass girl, and hot tattooed bad boy (swoon) take on an pre apocalyptic world, with emotions like you never seen coming.
Best book I’ve read this year!
A MUST READ!
Praying For Rain was FREAKING AWESOME! BB Easton has done an incredible job with this book!
This novel was so original. I was digging everything in it. I just loved it all! I loved the tension between Rain and Wes, and I also loved them as an individual as well as a couple.
Knowing we’ve only touched the surface of this series and of the couple, I cannot wait to get to know them more. This is one of the most interesting novels that I have read.
BB Easton has started me onto something new, and I love it! I am now into apocalyptic romances and I have this author to thank!
Every single time I read a novel by this author I get excited, and since the 44 chapters series I’ve been curious, and her work has paid off! I am in love with this author and her work, happily and shamelessly.
And that ending… WHAAAAT?!
Read this book, guys. Seriously, it does not disappoint!
You know an author has real talent when she rocks in two entirely different genre equally well. Praying for Rain by BB Easton proves that. This dystopian apocalyptic romance is exactly opposite of her previous sassy smart humorous books. And she slayed it. Well some things are still same! Her sharp plotline and unapologetic narrative. The contrasting glimpse of witty sarcasm in middle of gloomy chaos. And her uncanny ability to bring out the angst, the heartbreak and the emotions brilliantly. Rain and Wes are perfectly imperfect. There are reasons I am addicted to her writing. She is never predictable, never boring and never mundane. A TOP 2019 READ AND A MUST MUST MUST READ ROMANCE. This magnetic dynamic overwhelming story is sheer brilliance!
Rain and Wes’s story was unique, unusual and absoultely epic. A set date for arrival of Four Horseman of Apocalypse has thrown the world into a frenzy. Denial, anger, desperation, destruction, hope and everything runs rampant. Rain has secrets and deep cuts in her soul. And she is patiently and happily waiting for death when she meets Wes. The guy who always struggled for survival and is refusing to go down even now. Together they are trying to find a way out in middle of anarchy.
The love slowly but surely goes between them. The plot is full of adrenaline rush. I was holding my breath all through it. And BB Easton gave their relation this larger than life feel. I felt close to them. And she made me feel every single tear, smile, injury and success. I always say BB Easton doesn’t write fiction. She writes life. Praying for Rain is the life. When the world is stripped off the fake niceties, you get raw intense and honest relationship like Ren and Wes.
Received ARC for Honest Review
“Life sucks, and we’re all gonna die.”
This is my first book by BB Easton. Once I read the blurb I HAD to get my hands on it. This is definitely a unique kind of read. The end is near the date as been giving and it’s every man for themselves. We are introduced to Rain, a 19 year old lonely girl, who just wants to be numb and wait out her days in a daze. She finds herself in a bit of trouble and in walks Wes, a 22 year old tattooed survivalist. He only has three things on his mind.
“Supplies, shelter, self-defense.”
Just when we given a little bit of hope it gets yanked away. The world and everyone in it has gone crazy. Not only do Rain and Wes have to try and survive the Four Horseman, they have to survive the townspeople. This book will keep you guessing and then begging for book two. I have so many questions. Who…why…how? If you enjoy dystopian reads that will possibly bring a few tears to your eyes, I recommend Praying for Rain!!
“All the loss. All the worthlessness and loneliness and hopelessness and fear. For a few minutes, I was free of it all.”

What an absolutely amazing story. Praying For Rain, the first book in the Praying for Rain Trilogy by BB Easton was unlike anything I’ve read lately. This novel was unpredictable, engrossing, will have you hooked from the very first page and at the edge of your seat throughout the story.
The main characters Wes and Rain were the definition of complex and flawed, yet in this dystopian world BB Easton created they seemed almost normal in comparison to some of the residents residing in this small town.
These two had chemistry yet this story was a slow burn as the end of the world was almost at hand and there were other important things to attend to namely surviving and finding appropriate shelter before the oncoming apocalypse. However through it all it was obvious Wes and Rain were perfect for each other as they basically ended up saving each other in one way or the other.
Told in dual POV we are given a direct look into the mind and feelings of these two characters and as the story progressed, their blossoming relationship among all the ongoing destruction will take your breath away.
This novel was well-crafted and layered, it was so descriptive you could easily picture every scene in your mind and there were some twists and turns that will have you shocked. Its frightening to see how easily society could crumble if the world is coming to an end and that was so expertly displayed here. This story will evoke a range of emotions from you inclusive of anxiety, fear and sadness yet there was also humor included which will have you amused.
This page-turner was a phenomenal story and definitely one of my top reads for this year. Worthy of more than 5 stars, I loved it and would highly recommend it.
5 Apocalyptic Stars!!!
They have nothing left to live for…until they find eachother.
The end is coming….This story kept me riveted from the very first page!!! Fast-paced and filled with the unexpected, you will not be able to put it down!
The impending apocalypse has turned their world upside down. Everything that surrounds them is chaos and destruction. Rain is just trying to survive day to day as the end looms.
Wes has always been a survivor. He’s had no choice, so facing the end of the world is just another obstacle.
When Wes finds Rain and decides to use her to help his cause, the life he’s always known is about to be turned upside down.
Two resilient people, who have fought through the worst life has to offer, have come together to face the apocalypse and plan on winning!
This story had great characters and loads of action. Even when the world is about to end, you can have amazing chemistry. Rain and Wes were meant to find eachother. I absolutely loved this story and cannot wait for more!!!
