Before Nineteen Minutes, The Tenth Circle, and Perfect Match there was Plain Truth: “an absorbing and affecting novel” (Entertainment Weekly) about life in a bucolic setting that is anything but simple.
Not one to shy away from the tough issues that makes her novels so compelling, Jodi Picoult’s recent bestsellers tackled themes from sexual abuse to stem cell research to intense parent-child … cell research to intense parent-child relationships. Her eager fans have come to expect hard-hitting topics, and Picoult never disappoints.
In Plain Truth, a shocking murder shatters the picturesque calm of Pennsylvania’s Amish country — and tests the heart and soul of the lawyer who steps in to defend the young woman at the center of the storm.…
Moving seamlessly from psychological drama to courtroom suspense, Plain Truth is a triumph of contemporary storytelling. Jodi Picoult presents a fascinating portrait of Amish life rarely witnessed by those outside the faith — and discovers a place where circumstances are not always what they seem, where love meets lies, and where relationships grow so strong they can transcend death.

One of Jodi’s best!
This was an interesting read because of the the insight into the Amish lifestyle along with a suspenseful story line.
The ending!
my favorite Jodi Piccoult book
The first Jodi Picoult book I read. When I finished it, I had to back up 20 pages or so, because I didn’t see the ending coming…
This author rarely disappoints. I keep to hard copies, however. The ebook does not give each character a different font.

It was a who dunnit until the very last page.
Really good book
Jodi Picoult never disappoints!
My very first Jodi Picoult book and by now I have read every one. I have loved them all, but this is still my favorite!
Always enjoy this author ‘s books. The way she develops the characters is amazing! I don’t want to put the book down.
This is about the Amish people and a great read!
I enjoyed Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult immensely. If you have any curiosity about Plain people (Amish , others) and how they live and believe this book is a great place to begin. Entwined with a murder trial – it’s a great read.
All of Jodi’s books are worth a read. I love her style of writing.
This book helped me to understand the Amish perspective. The book had many twists as the story unfolded, typical of this author.
