This is the first book in this series I have read and I really enjoyed it. Out of Peach finds Momma Peach and Michelle running off to Virginia after receiving a phone call from her Aunt Rachel who has been charged with murder. Upon their arrival, they team up with a detective, Wilma, from the small town and try to prove Aunt Rachel’s innocence. Once Momma Peach puts the pieces together, she sets out to pit suspect against suspect in the hopes that one or more will break down. I loved Momma Peach’s interrogation techniques and how she got down to the nitty gritty of it all. Her love for her family and friends runs deep and she’ll do anything to protect them. I plan on going back and starting this series from the beginning. A series that teaches you to never underestimate the power of Southern women!

Caroline Johnson, “Momma Peach”, is baking pumpkin pies for the holiday in her bakery kitchen. She is talking with Michelle Chan, part of her “adopted” family. Michelle is in her gray police uniform. She has just returned from her honeymoon with Abel. They are just catching up on the honeymoon when Momma Peach receives a phone call from her elderly Aunt Rachel. Aunt Rachel is in jail in Virginia. Momma Peach cannot understand what Aunt Rachel is trying to tell her so she requests to speak with a police officer. She hands the phone to Michelle who begins speaking with Detective Wilma South. Aunt Rachel is being charged with the murder of Grace Wilson. Grace was killed with a garotte that was found in Aunt Rachel’s room at the Almond Pines Senior Retirement Home. Detective South feels Aunt Rachel is being set up for the murder.
Mrs. Deborah Hanning is the retirement home’s administrator. She is also a member of a local women’s political party. Mrs. Julie Wilson, Grace’s daughter, is the president of the political party.
When Momma Peach and Michelle pull into town Momma Peach gets into a scuffle with two thugs, Mike Jones and Billy Nollings. Momma Peach manages to get them to see her point of view and the two men are not pleased.
Detective South invites Momma Peach and Michelle to stay at her cabin. Her husband is out of town and she doesn’t think the motels in town are fit to stay in. After they feel Aunt Rachel is in danger Detective South gets permission to take Aunt Rachel to her cabin as well.
Everything gives Aunt Rachel gas and the descriptions of her gassy problems are hilarious.
This story is all about politics and Deborah Hanning wanting to gain more power.
I love the characters in this series. Momma Peach has an amazing mind, a quick wit and is able to think outside of the box.
You will enjoy this book. It is a must read!! I received an advance copy from Booksprout. This is my honest review.
Momma Peach to the Rescue!
Momma Peach and Michelle Chan travel to Almond Pines Virginia to help Detective Wilma South prove Aunt Rachel innocent of murdering Grace Wilson. Her Aunt Rachel is in her 80s and cantankerous as can be. Getting her to cooperate is hilarious. I’ve had so much fun reading this fun adventure. Enjoy!
I received an advance copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in a long time! Aunt Rachel is framed for murder and it’s up to Mamma Peachand Michelle, with help from new police officer/friend, Wilma, to clear her name. Aunt Rachel farts her way through the story, giving silent but deadly, a whole new, worse meaning! When a fart smells like a dead armadillo on a rotting bag of garbage, it’s BAD! The woman clears a room! Lol! Mamma Peach and Michelle do their fantastic sleuthing and over turn so many plots that it’s just plain crazy! This is a Peach of a series!

Like southern no-nonsense women who take no prisoners and tell it like it is southern style, then Momma Peach is for you. You just want to see her get the bad guy.
Momma Peach’s Aunt Rachel has been arrested for murder, so she must go and help her. Problem is that Aunt Rachel has a secret that she is not sharing till the time is right, but is possibly important to figuring out who did it. Every thing is not as it seems.
Aunt Rachel has an issue with flatulence (needs to have a GI checkup – I think). The descriptions that are used to describe it will have you crazy trying not to imagine it.
Love the snappy report between Momma Peach and Aunt Rachel.
Read this book in just a few hours. Can definitely be read as a stand alone, meaning by itself, and follow the story.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

The holidays are fast approaching and Caroline Johnson (known as Momma Peach) is having the time of her life making yummy pies in her bakery kitchen. The last thing that Momma Peach is expecting is a call from Aunt Rachel’s from jail. What could the eighty something-year-old woman possibly have done? When Aunt Rachel is accused of murdering another woman in the nursing home, Momma Peach high tails it out of town with Michelle to uncover the truth.

Mama Peach and her gang are coming to the rescue of Aunt Rachel, who is accused of murder.
Finding the real murderer only is the beginning of the story – as many towns hide a deep bottom of corruption.
This cozy mystery shows small-town- thinking at its best and at its worst.
Like all Mama Peach stories it is entertaining and an easy read.

Caroline Johnson, known to all as Momma Peach, was enjoying the arrival of the holidays as she baked a yummy pumpkin pie in her bakery kitchen. Michelle, who had just gotten married to Abel two weeks earlier, joined her and the two women hugged. Michelle was in her dark gray police uniform, about to go on duty, so they didn’t have time to talk about the honeymoon adventures, but Michelle promised to come to dinner and tell her everything, like how Abel got stuck in an elevator for 10 hours!
As they are discussing how wonderful things have been lately – never a good idea to tempt Fate like that — the phone rings and the peaceful day is shattered. Aunt Rachel was calling – from jail! She was arrested in Virginia for murder! Momma Peach didn’t get much sense from Aunt Rachel, so she asked for a police officer to get on the phone, then handed her phone to Michelle to get the details. Detective Wilma South talked with Michelle and explained that a woman was found strangled in her bed at the nursing home and the murder weapon, a garotte, was found in Aunt Rachel’s dresser in the next room. Although the detective didn’t believe she committed the crime, she was going to need legal counsel and family support. The family of the victim was insisting that Aunt Rachel should be prosecuted. It was obvious she was being set up for murder, so Momma Peach and Michelle head off to Virginia to help Wilma solve the murder and find the real killer.
Wilma allows the women to stay with her and, with Aunt Rachel nervous about the killer on the loose, she also moves in with Wilma. They identify two women who are part of a corrupt political movement with powerful roots that go deeper than anyone would guess. Can they untangle this awful mess and save Aunt Rachel? Or have they put themselves into more danger than they realize?
This was a cute mystery involving a loving family that actively stands by family members no matter how annoying they may be. Momma Peach has a wonderful mind when it comes to putting the clues together to find the truth. Join her in this latest investigation where she will make a new friend and strive to see justice done!
I love this series. Mama Peach, Michelle and the gang found themselves in the middle of a mess when they went to help Aunt Rachel. In the midst of solving the murder Aunt Rachel had been framed of they welcomed a new member to the unconventional family. Turns out the murder was just a small part of a bigger mystery. This was the nest story yet in this series.

In this book Momma Peach and Michelle go to Virginia to help get Aunt Rachel out from under a murder charge. Her antics are enough to make them want to just leave her in jail to fend for herself but she’s family so they go help. They team up with the local detective and uncover a huge political mess.

This book finds Momma Peach in Virginia looking after her Aunt Rachel. Stubborn and determined seem to run in the family- as does having a nose for trouble!
Momma Peach, Michelle, a new friend Detective Wilma, and several of those near and dear to them go up against a medley of backwoods thugs and hooligans, a dangerous feminist militant underground, and a passel of good old boy dirty dealing politicians.
Some strategic alliances and lots of creative thinking and action might save them in the long, but the ride is long and harrowing.
Great KU read – where many of those stereotypically dominant in the south find out that they should never underestimate a southern Lady – especially Momma Peach!
As she might say, her plain country speech don’t make her plain country stupid. Lookout turkeys!
I received an advance copy of this book from Booksprout. I have read this book and most recent releases from this author on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
Momma Peach is a no calorie addiction- and a role model all women of gumption can only dream of growing up to reach!
Watch out turkeys!
