Never Fear the Reaper

So overall I thought that this was a good read, although this isn’t my usual read I was intrigued by the blurb so thought that I would give it a read. I could see YA’s really enjoying this book, it was easy to read and whilst I didn’t really find myself lost in it I would absolutely like to read more from the series. The pace of the book is good and I really liked the characters, I did at times find the switch between the person it was written in a little confusing but it didn’t really taken any of the enjoyment away for me.
I really liked Ryder; there was just something about her that drew me to her. She was a really strong character which was great to read about.
Never Fear the Reaper was a fun read by an author who is new to me so I am definitely looking forward to reading more from Ashley Pagano in the future.
Never Fear the Reaper is the first instalment of the series and I absolutely loved it! I was immediately captured in the story and couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed how dark and mysterious it was and how many twists and turns there were throughout the novel. My favourite part of this book was the powerful main characters! I really appreciated how Ryder’s character was equal to Chase and, at some points, possibly more powerful and in control. For example, she was the more experienced one in her field, Chase called for her help to cleanse the house and he ends up tagging along with her! I also really liked the immense amount of description throughout the book; this use of imagery and character development really helped me to get immersed in the story and the characters. Overall, this is a really addictive book which I would 100% recommend!
Never Fear The Reaper ( A Never Fear The Reaper Series)
By Ashley Pagano
Never Fear the Reaper is book one in the Never Fear the Reapers series by Ashley Pagano. This is the first book I have read by this author and I have to say that I really enjoyed the read. This book has everything you can want to have an enjoyable read. If you like books with a bit of a dark storyline then you really need to get yourself a copy of this book. This book contains everything you could want from ghosts to demons, is a fun read, touches of humour. Can’t find a thing I would fault at all. Thank you, Ashley, for a wonderful start to what’s going to be a good series.
I am so fracking excited that I picked up this little gem of a novel from Ashley Pagano! I honestly was drawn to Never Fear the Reaper with the cover. I was even more pleased with the gripping story between the covers! Ashely Pagano is a new author to me, but I will be one-clicking the rest of her novels as soon as I finish up this review!
Chase’s sister has been being tortured and driven mad by a poltergeist. He, as the big brother, will do whatever it takes to keep his little sister safe. This is where we met Ryder. Ryder is the best in the business of ghosts and such. From the very moment they meet Chase is drawn to something about her. He eventually convinces her to let him be her apprentice. He thinks this is the best way to get to know her and be around her. He gets a little more than he bargained for though, and learns a few things about himself too.
This novel combines my favorite genera’s all in one and does it flawlessly. I could definitely see this being one of those great novels to put on the screen too. I felt like I was there with these two the whole time I was reading. I was scared when they were, sad when they were, etc. I can’t say enough high regards about this novel. Now I am off to read the next, Never Fear The Reaper: The Bargaining. Thank you so much for the adventure Ms. Pagano!
I give Never Fear the Reaper (A Never Fear the Reaper Series Book 1) by Ashley Pagano, 5 stars.
Chase’s little sister is being terrorized by a poltergeist. He will do anything to stop it, and this leads him to Ryder. He has been told that she is the best at getting rid of ghosts and such. She is nothing like he imagined and there is something about her that draws him. He needs to get to know her better. So he convinces her to take him on as his apprentice. Little does he know the adventures this will lead to and how much he will learn of not only Ryder, but of himself as well.
This is a wonderful urban fantasy with lots of action and some romance. Ryder is such an interesting character. I have never seen anyone like her in books before. Chance is also interesting and fun. Together, they seem to balance each other out and make this story even better. I like the concept of her being a “ghost hunter”. This is a new concept to me in books and it was done expertly. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see where the next book in series will take me.
This is an urban fantasy for all adults. I highly recommend this to those who love a wonderful, action-packed story with great main characters.
This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it from beginning to the last word. Her characters are connectable and made me feel as if I was part of the their story. I enjoyed the twists and turns that they took me on that left me sitting on the edge of my seat one minute and the next laughing a little bit. Ryder is my favorite character. She has this attitude about her that just makes you laugh and I couldn’t help but love her. I highly recommend this book.
Never Fear the Reaper (A Never Fear the Reaper Series Book 1)
By: Ashley Pagano
5 out of 5 stars
The story Never Fear the Reaper (A Never Fear the Reaper Series Book 1) by Ashley Pagano is an amazing paranormal/fantasy book. I loved reading it. I was hooked from the very beginning and found myself lost in the pages. It not only has a wonderful storyline it has characters that I loved reading about. Ryder is a mysterious character that is asked to help out when Chase needs help getting rid of a poltergeist. She is beautiful, confident in her abilities, and has the skills needed for the work she does. Chase can’t help but be impressed with how Ryder takes care of his problem. He is intrigued, attracted, and drawn to her. He feels a chemistry with her. I love how they banter back and forth. There is sarcasm, whit, and humor. A bit of flirting is done as well. These two had me smiling when I read about their interactions. Chase gets Ryder to let him come along on some adventures with her. Will Chase get Ryder to open up to him about herself? Who will these two find themselves up against on these adventures and how much danger are they in? There is plenty of action in this story and I enjoyed the detail in which those scenes were described. This is a well-written page-turner that I would recommend reading. It is the first story in a series and I am looking forward to the next one.
