USA Today Bestselling Author, Elena Aitken invites you to celebrate happily ever after in her brand new, sexy-sweet series that will make you say, “I do!” Billionaire Damon Banks has everything he could ever want. Almost. When his childhood home goes up for sale, there’s nothing he wants more. The catch? The seller—his father—insists it be sold to a married couple. No problem. Katie Langdon has … couple.
No problem. Katie Langdon has been Damon’s best friend since kindergarten and there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for him. Including being his fake fiancé. They already know each other better than anyone else. How hard could it be?
But as their wedding date quickly approaches, pretending turns out to be much harder than either of them expected, especially since feelings neither of them ever thought they’d feel become very real. As the lines between real and fake become blurred, Damon and Katie must find a way to see clearly, or risk losing true love for good.

Damon Banks, a billionaire, has been away from his father and hometown for many years after a disagreement when his mother died. His father puts his childhood home up for sale with a requirements for purchase. The main requirement was it had to be sold to a married couple. Damon’s best friend, Katie Langdon, would do anything for him., including being his fake fiancée. The book evolves around family relationships, unhealed emotions, and various realizations between “real” and “fake” feelings. Elena’s writing of this book is so true to life and one everyone should read and experience. Fantastic book!
This is one of my favorite books in this series. Katie and Damon have been best friends since elementary school. I felt bad that Damon did not have a good relationship with his father, especially since his mother was dead. I couldn’t believe that his father is going to sell the family home and not give it to Damon. Since his father put the stipulation that whoever bough the homestead had to be married, Damon asks Katie to be his pretend fiancé so he can buy this childhood home. I loved how the two would do anything for the other, so Katie agreed to be his fiancé. This sure stirred up a lot of feelings for so many people. It was interesting to see how different people handled the news. I was especially happy to see Katie and Damon see things about their relationship they never saw before. Of course relationships never seem to go smoothly. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
At the end of book one in the Ever After series, Katie drops a little bombshell that leads us to Needing Happily Ever After…she’s getting married! Imagine her family’s surprise, since they didn’t even know she was dating. And it’s to a man she’s known for years, her best friend Damon, but he doesn’t even live locally. How are these two longtime platonic pals going to pull this off?
The premise of this story is a bit different, as the reason for this fake relationship is all because of a house. That’s definitely a new one for this reader. But as a fan of the faux engagement sub genre, I’m in. I liked Katie and Damon, but their newfound feelings for each other didn’t always ring true for me. It didn’t lessen my enjoyment of the book, but I was honestly more intrigued by the chemistry between Katie’s brother Logan and Faith, which I’m thinking might be the hottest book of the series!
My four star rating is actually more for the wonderful writing of Elena Aitken, who’s books I always enjoy and definitely recommend to existing fan as well as new ones. Her storytelling is engaging and guarantees that I will not want to put the book down. So while every couple may not be my favorite, I’ve never been sorry I read their story.
Best friends Katie Langdon and Damon Banks are getting married! The best way I can describe this announcement is that no one knew they were dating. It’s okay, they are fake-engaged anyway. Annnnnnnnnnddddd so the fun begins! What I loved about this story is that these two are absolutely made for one another except that they forgot to tell themselves about it. No spoilers but these two have been best friends forever, nothing more. I think that they didn’t want to ruin that close friendship by being “more” to one another. They’ve always had each other’s backs so when Damon needs a HUGE favor, Katies steps up to be his fake fiancé.
I loved how their feelings started changing towards each other and I thought Damon was just a bit broken, for lack of a better term, and vulnerable. Characters from the previous book show up, in a big way, and I loved reading about the wedding venue at Ever After Ranch again.
We also get the chance to see more of the characters from the previous book – no worries, this is a standalone but since it is a book two, it helps to have met and enjoyed the people in town, at least for me. Katie’s brother has some strong opinions this time around, especially about her “fiancé” and we get to visit with her mom and neighbors as well. Another great story that leaves me wanting to read the next one!

I’m loving this series! This group of friends has me sucked in and I’m already counting down the days to the next one.
Katie and Damon have been friends since forever and their path to becoming more was a story I really didn’t want to put down. If I hadn’t passed out reading, I would’ve finished this in one sitting.
I can’t wait for more of this series!
This is the second book in Elena Aitken’s Ever After series. This is about Katie (Luke’s sister from the first book) and Damon, her best friend. Damon needs a fiancée so he can buy his childhood home. Katie agrees since he’s her best friend. These two are always saying “I love you” in a friendship way but is it really friendly or something more? There’s a bit of angst and an “aww” moment which I love! Some of the characters we met in the previous book, Choosing Happily Ever After, make their appearances as well. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
