Enemy Lines
After nearly being executed in a war zone, Staff Sergeant Leon Shield finds himself urgently recalled from deployment, and lands back home to a defeated country. In a matter of days, and without a single shot being fired, a new species has taken over the world. Determined to survive Armageddon, the only chance to fight back is to find a man called Ark, and use an untested technology to become Navigators.
Blind Sighted
Leon and Ark elect to train their new Navigator squad outside the wire, while Bill works with the weapons engineers to solve the bigger problems. The medical team are taking the critters apart, desperately looking for anything that will give them an edge.
Killer Edge
Our team match the enemy by creating a little critter magic of their own. New forces join them, and survivors add their weight to the fight, further changing what becomes possible. First contact is made, and believing they are running headlong into failure, Ark learns to take the lesser loss.
Broken Arrow
The aliens take a step too far and Ark decides it’s time to go all in. Sending all of their Navigator battle teams to the nests, they uncover unexpected allies in a final showdown that will determine which side will rule earth.
The Navigator series is a fast paced, action-based story following the people who will need to become a tight knit team if they’re to defeat an enemy capable of taking over the world.

SD Tanner has certainly given us something new to think about in this beginning of a new series. What if the aliens have figured out how to make humanity be the aliens? Suppose random humans suddenly began to mutate? And suppose it happened, worldwide, all at once with no warning, and half the population began slaughtering the other half? We begin by following troops from over seas who are suddenly withdrawn and shipped home, but even on the transport, suddenly some of them are changed. We follow the police department in Albuquerque as that city descends into chaos. We find the air force base outside of Albuquerque not knowing who to trust as half their personnel change. We are introduced to a Navigator, an enhanced human with a great series of body suits that make her as close to Superman as any of us have ever seen, at least until she runs out of power and collapses. This is a well-plotted book, and I can’t wait to read the next one.
The second book is Blind Sighted. SD Tanner continues the saga of the humans against the critters. All the hierarchy of civilian and military life appears to be gone. A small squad of Navigators undertakes sojourns outside looking for human survivors. Unfortunately, each individual Navigator has a specific goal in mind, usually a personal one and that has been put ahead of any other goal. Leon decided he needs to go to Seattle, even though the city has been nuked, and refuses to listen to reason. Bill decided he needs to go to Las Vegas for personal reasons. Neither mission turns out well. Then the group decides to go to NORAD. Once again, the lack of a designated leader hampers them. Any human they find wants to know who is in charge and they do not react well to being told no one has that honor. An interesting book, and I think you will live it too.
The third book is Killer Edge. SD Tanner has done well with this third book of the Navigator series. We have all kinds of things going on here. We have Cassie, a young girl who got in contact with the goo the critters were using to keep the populace imprisoned. Someone got a tourniquet on that arm, so the only thing that really turned was the arm itself, not the whole person. They kept her chained to a bed in the hospital and used her to send false messages to the critter boss. A few more folks came forward to be trained as Navs. They made contact with the preppers, and they agreed to take in survivors. They found out where the army went, and went after them. It’s still not looking good, though. Then there is a massive attack on the folks camping out outside the wall, and naturally that spills over inside the wall. And then inside CaliTech buildings. Ark manages to save them all with a fluke, but he blames himself for not following his original plan. This one is a beaut! I think you’ll love it.
This is the fourth volume in the series. Once again, we are trying to get rid of the bugs that have decimated our planet. They can turn half of us into murderers and use the corpses as food. They have made nests throughout the earth outside of the cities. The Navigators have proven to be our best defense against them, but they are pitifully few and they take too much power. Now we find out that we have one more power in our arsenal: we can lie to our invaders and they will believe us. This is the tactic used to clear out the Albuquerque pyramid so the Navigators can invade and hopefully get to the bottom of the nest this time. They go with bombs, knowing that each one will kill the nest and likely themselves as well. The tension builds to the final battle and beyond. I wonder if I could handle living in the aftermath.
Definitely a unique take on alien invasion scenarios. Well done.
Great list of characters and a good read. Sets up nicely fir the next instalment
An interesting scenario. Will most likely read the next books in this series
Good read.
Excellent story. Great characters and a thoughtful story. Heroes and heroines out the gazoo. Could not put it down.
Run! Run away quickly! Do NOT start reading this series, or all is lost! The story is addictive. You won’t be able to stop! Run!
Recommended. Not typical or expected. Story line moves along well. Characters are not overly developed, but you don’t have to read paragraphs about the color of the landscape either.
Good spin on a couple popular science-fiction themes. Very readable.
To many F… Words
I liked the whole series. Good fun reading
Great read. Loved the books and now I need to get the rest of the Series. Couldn’t put them down.
Good read!!!
zipped right through it,, still anxiously waiting on the next in the series
I was very impressed with this series. I read all of the series basically as one book, and at no did I even consider putting it down. A fascinating idea, well thought out characters and excellent writing and pacing kept me glued until the end.
SciFi is best when the author is able to create a scenario that, while it may be out there, is believable through the characters in the story. This book did just that. It was well written and entertaining.
This book is an interesting twist on the apocalyptic/alien story. Tanner is an engaging story teller because he puts you in the room with the characters who are trying to figure things out. Tanner fleshes out his characters so well, you can’t help but feel for them, and he creates a situation wherein there’s more than one way to feel about these people. He knows how to take the reader to the edge allowing you to think this is it. No spoilers from me. It’s really worth the trip to find out what happens.
Invasion of the earth over centuris of time, it makes you wonder could it happen now? And will mankind prevail?
Not enough science to back up the fiction.
I kept wondering why I continued to read on.
