ABC News chief meteorologist Ginger Zee pulls back the curtain on her life in Natural Disaster. Ginger grew up in small-town Michigan where she developed an obsession with weather as a young girl. Ginger opens up about her lifelong battle with crippling depression, her romances that range from misguided to dangerous, and her tumultuous professional path. This cyclone of stories may sound familiar … familiar to some—it’s just that Ginger’s personal tempests happened while she was covering some of the most devastating storms in recent history, including a ferocious tornado that killed a legend in the meteorology field. This book is for all the mistake makers who have learned to forgive others and themselves—even in the aftermath of man-made, or in this case Zee-made, disasters. It’s a story that every young woman should read, a story about finding love and finding it in yourself. Beloved by Good Morning America’s audience, Ginger is a daily presence for millions. Zee’s gained fame for her social media presence which is as unfiltered as Natural Disaster—from baby barf to doggy doo-doo. She’s shattered the glass ceiling for women in meteorology, but admits here first, she’s the one natural disaster she couldn’t have forecast.

this is amazing first I thot it will be boring I read it amazing .
I love Ginger Zee on television and this did not disappoint!
She is a delight
Ginger Zee’s story is interesting enough that I’d recommend it. I’m not a ‘fan’ per say but enjoy reading autobiographies. Ginger tells about her childhood, college, beginning her career and all the struggles that went along. She really worked hard to get where she is now.
She talks about depression and checking into a mental institution. As she was promoting this book, she talked about ‘being suicidal, depression’ and so on. I found this confusing as her book is almost entirely about a very confident and successful person. Her voluntarily seeking help (and being able to afford it) is quite different than many of us who struggle with depression and can’t find or keep a job because of it. Fortunately, Ginger does put a short paragraph in her book saying that everyone experiences depression in a different way. I did appreciate that part.
If you’re interested in the field of journalism, this would be a good book to read as this describes starting at the bottom and how much work is involved to move up the ladder.
This book touched me on so many levels. Ginger Zee is so honest with what she’s lived through and where she is today.
I like Ginger Zee as a meteorologist on ABC, but I didn’t care for her autobiography. While I applaud her for letting the world now about her battle with mental illness and hopefully inspire others to seek help, I found her life story to be rather shallow, immature and self-centered. I am actually sorry that I read her book.
it feels like you are in the book i am proud
Omg this is my fav from her it feels like your in that book.
congratulation one of my fav i am proud
It’s always nice to know that those in the public eye have gone through ups and downs. With hard work and persistence, Ginger has accomplished her dream and much more
I enjoyed reading Ginger’s book. She was very open to share her life changing moments with her readers.
Enjoyable read. Ginger Zee sheds light on depression and anxiety in an uplifting way. Informative yet entertaining.
It was a fun, entertaining and easy read for summer – especially when you know and have watched her. It also shows that you can succeed and thrive once you learn about yourself.
Ginger Zee leads an exciting life that most of us would not want, but I admire her passion for reporting the weather in an exciting way.
I have always liked this woman and now have even MORE respect for her. She bars all in an effort to help others who may have similar situations they are facing… not an easy thing to do when your road has been quite rocky at times. Will it help others? I definitely think so!
This book was so good, hard to put down. It’s written so you that you feel every ups and down that she experienced.
I was stunned that our Ginger Zee had had such bouts of depression that led her to make some foolish decisions that really created havoc in her life; she got help from a professional and finally made her life like we see it today. She had much to overcome but she has come out and met a wonderful husband who has helped her arrive at this place. I really do love her on GMA and it is wonderful to see her sweet smile each morning.
Great fun to find out what makes Ginger such a good meteorologist.
This book was mostly about the life experiences of the author. Her life was fairly routine.
This is a very honest book about a lovely young woman and the emotional problems that have changed her life.
She has a great sense of humor even in trying times. Great book; couldn’t put it down.
