Better than Miss Marple. My first book in the series and what a delight. Knew the mastermind early but kept reading to see how and why and was impressed with the details and logic. Looking forward to more by the author.
I loved it! I want to ride on the Flying Scotsman! Kudos Lee Strauss, another awesome book! This is a must read series! I can’t wait for the next book.
Couldn’t get into this one.
I loved this story. I can’t wait to read the rest of them.
Easy read but a bit predictable
It was an interesting read, with some quite funny parts. The characters are well developed, but there are unexpected twists, as well. You have to pay attention! Good book!!
This was a great period mystery. It reminded me of Poirot. This would make a great series on Mystery! Or BBC.
Not much. I knew who the killer was when she came into the story. Boring. Just not a great story.
Very good read…
There is a fine balance between putting enough description in of clothing, etc. to establish an era and putting so much detail in that it reads more like a fashion review. While the plot was entertaining, I occasionally got bored of the descriptions of clothing, etc. because it wasn’t telling me more about the character involved.
excellent series!
The book was interesting to a point but then I lost interest and did not complete it.
Reminiscent of the Miss Fisher mysteries, this book is a fanciful, charming cozy mystery for fans of British upper classes and their foibles and shenanigans.
It was an entertaining read.
Different backdrop than others books I read. Earlier days. Different countrg
I don’t normally like mysteries but this book was very entertaining and kept me hooked. There are some slow parts but they make the fast paced informative parts that much more entertaining.
This reminded me so much of our time spent in York and London. Seeing it through the eyes of 1930s characters was a delight.
not Agatha Christie but fun and light.
I enjoyed the characters the setting and background descriptions. The plot was somewhat predictable and dragged a bit in places though.
Loved the era and the tradition!!
