With only one short stop at York, Ginger anticipates time with her new husband will fly by.
She’s wrong. Something terrible has happened in the Royal Mail carriage, which forces the train to stop dead in its tracks. There’s been a death and Chief Inspector Reed has been asked to investigate.
It’s a uniquely disturbing murder and Ginger and Basil are eager to puzzle it out together. What do the first class passengers have to do with the dead man? With another crime shortly discovered, Ginger and Basil soon realize they’re not dealing with a run-of-the-mill killer—they’re dealing with a mastermind who’s not done playing with them yet.

Set when there were still butlers and housekeepers, stable boys, and when travel was mostly by train. Delightful characters, nice tight story line. Very enjoyable.
Enjoyed all of the books of the series, this one was no exception.
Love the Ginger Gold series. Have read most of this series.
Another fantastic outing for the fabulous Ginger Gold, er, Ginger Reed! A marvelous mystery that was fully researched to do justice to an old crime.
Keeps you guessing who did the murder.
Enjoyed the train setting and the era the mystery occurred. Previously read Feather’s and Flair and enjoyed that also. Look forward to more of this author’s work.
It was a fun quick read. No heavy thinking going on.
Murder Aboard the Flying Scotsman by Lee Strauss was an intriguing mystery that grabbed my attention from the first page.
Ms. Strauss has penned a delicious twisted mystery that brings the past and the present together in York. Basil and Ginger work together to solve a murder and a jewelry theft when all they were supposed to be doing was enjoying their honeymoon. Luckily, Ginger is quite adept at getting people to talk and her training with the British Secret Service during World War I comes in handy as this mystery sped into a dramatic climax. I truly hope there are more adventures for Ginger and Basil.
The perfect 1920s cozy mystery! A fabulous sleuth, a dashing policeman and the Flying Scotsman – it doesn’t get any better than this! I just love the Ginger Gold series.
Had some problem flowing all of the names and characters. But I just could not figure out who the lady in black was and how she disappeared. Certainly kept my interest.
Like her books. A fast read with fun twists.
Excellent book step to step discovering the killer
I enjoyed this book.
Very slow and hard to get into. I wanted to finish this book but it didn’t hook me
This series is wonderful
This is a cute whodunit, with appealing characters and setting. Love the time period. I’d give the author 4 stars for her writing skill – doesn’t dumb-down the reader and offers and delivers and entertaining read. During these trying times with the world and U.S. in the worst fix I’ve ever seen it, I needed something lighter and more fun to read. This filled that need.
Good entry in the series with lots of action and baffling clues as the MC and her husband must uncover the link between a death discovered on a train and a robbery on another train from years before.
It was my pleasure to receive this free book from the author and give my honest review.
Old school murder on the train has enough twists and turns to keep you interested. Make yourself a pot of tea and enjoy.
Lady Gold is always a worthwhile read!
Enjoyable mystery. A fun read.
