Big-city sophistication meets carnal hunger in this devilish contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.Heir apparent to her father’s company, Lizzy Banks needs a man. The perfect man. But when the rich “fundbabies” she usually rubs shoulders with prove impossible to hire, she takes a chance on a raw beast of a man salvaged from the wreckage of a bar … salvaged from the wreckage of a bar brawl.
James Rowan earns a modest income as a YouTube daredevil, but he can’t refuse Lizzy’s million dollar deal. As she polishes his rough edges, creating a sophisticated gentleman fit for the highest circles of society, not only does she bring out the perfect man—it’s like she’s making the man of her dreams. How can she resist?
Though Lizzy loves seeing James in his clothes—and out of them—he isn’t the kind of man you bring home to Daddy. Her father’s disapproval and the pressure of the campaign have her eyeing the straight and narrow, but Lizzy’s finding it awfully hard to resist the devil on her shoulder…

Katy Evans is back with Million Dollar Devil. Man the Devil and the Heiress are quite the pair. It was fun reading about opposite attracting and Lizzy building her face of the company. I enjoyed this book and always look forward to books from this author.
“ Being with Devil makes me feel all those things”
I am a big fan of Katy Evans and I would read anything with her name on it. Million Dollar Devil was exactly what I needed- a sexy story with a male character that you can help but falling head over heels with!
The story of Lizzy and James captivated me, infuriated me and I even found myself swearing at times! Their attraction is obvious and the chase was frustrating as I was desperate to see them get together but no no Katy Evans made her readers wait and it was well worth it.
I have to say that I did not like very much Lizzy as I found her a bit annoying and childish at times. However, JAMES!!!!! I love everything about him – his charisma, his swag, his banter … to be honest when he winked at Lizzy , I found myself melting on the spot LOL
“Damn this guy. He makes me want to dance. TO unbutton the top buttons of my top. Take it all off. Strip to my undies”
If you are looking for a book that is easy to read and will make you swoon and more, this one is for you.
After I read the synopsis of Million Dollar Devil, I knew it was a book I wanted to review, not only because Katy Evans is one of my go to authors, but also because I love the fact that the story’s heroine, Elizabeth ‘Lizzy’ Banks is the one who comes from money and is the woman in charge/soon-to-be in charge of a lucrative business in a male dominated field.
It’s clear that Lizzy will stop at nothing to prove herself to her father and acquire his approval, something that doesn’t seem to occur easily or often, which means that she’ll do whatever it takes, even if it means selling her soul to the devil and turning a sexy and daring man into her vision of male perfection, even if it’s only for the sake of appearance and Lizzy’s desperate need to make her father believe in her.
The fact that Lizzy wants to change James into the perfect model for her company’s new men’s line, polishing his rough edges so he fits the image she needs and then falls for the perfect package he becomes was a bit problematic for me simply because the main reason for her altering his outward persona is so she can prove to her father just how capable she is to run the company and dominate in an industry ruled by men. Also, because both Lizzy and James seem focused on superficial things – for her, it’s her desperate need of approval and for him, it’s to smooth talk his way into Lizzy’s pants.
Once Lizzy and James’ relationship starts to become about so much more than her career and his attraction to her, it was much easier to connect with the story and its characters, especially when readers found out about James’ past and why he chooses to live the way that he does. What also made things more tangible for me when it came to Lizzy and James’ burgeoning relationship is the fact that Evans started truly showing who her two characters are at their core. In my opinion, a story resonates with readers when they can relate to the hero and heroine and the struggles they face throughout the plot line, and while I didn’t feel like much of this was explored in the first half of the book, once I made into the middle of the text, I became much more invested and couldn’t wait to see when Lizzy and James finally gave into their desires for each other and what that meant for their respective future careers.
Despite the areas of the story line that I struggled with at times, I enjoyed seeing how everything played out with the consummate professional and the devilish beast she looks to transform a suave gentleman, but I do have to say that I quite liked James’ beastly side, especially when exuding sexuality and risking it all is exactly what he needs to do to claim the woman he wants.
4 Poison Apples
Hot, enjoyable story!
“This guy isn’t hot, he’s more like…raw and primal. The sexiest guy I’ve ever met.”
Elizabeth AKA Lizzy Banks is desperate to impress her impossible father. In her desperation, she decides on a crazy plan to play Pygmalion on a guy who’s the opposite of anyone she’s ever known…but is the most compelling man she’s ever met. When she turns this sow’s ear into a stunning silk purse, she finds herself confused, turned on, and falling hard.
“More than ever tonight, my hands itched with the need to touch her. My tongue feels restless in my goddamn mouth with the need to lick her.”
James AKA Jimmy Rowan would do anything for a bet. He’s keen to overcome his circumstances and give his younger brother a life without hardship or fear. When the beautiful Elizabeth comes into his orbit, he’s hooked by her looks, but also by her lucrative proposal. When his sexual attraction develops into something deeper, he wonders if he’s worthy enough to fit in her world.
“I’ve fallen in love with my own creation. I polished a diamond, and now it’s flawless. But it’s not mine to keep.”
I really enjoyed this story! It was SUPER SEXY! I loved the instant chemistry between the main characters – there was no denying how fiery they were together. I loved how Jimmy brought out the naughty girl in Lizzy, and also made her feel comfortable and able to be her true self with him. I loved how Elizabeth brought out the finer James, and also his desire to be more than the sum of his parts. I also loved how much she actually appreciated the man who always was – she didn’t like to think that she’d changed him…she’d just improved him.
“Lizzy inspired me. She inspired me right out of Tim’s Bar, because I had a feeling about her.”
James/Jimmy is a solid guy. He’s is certainly a diamond in the rough. His morals may be a little loose but underneath it all, his heart is in the right place, and he does the crazy things he does for an admirable reason. Elizabeth/Lizzy is a girl crying out for her father’s love and attention, and going about it all in the wrong way. She’s found it hard to do anything but obey her father, and it took a lot for her to finally stand up to him.
Overall, an enjoyable, sexy, easy read.
Katy Evans is always reliable when you want to dive into a great book!
Putting together a million dollar man…Lots of chemistry, banter, laughs, loads of ups and downs!
Janes and Izzy are successful but can they last after their dream comes true?!?
Lizzy, as the only daughter, is out to impress her notoriously difficult to please father. Jimmy is a YouTube sensation known for taking any dare for money. Lizzy is smart, capable, dedicated, persistent, and striving for an impossible standard. Jimmy is sexy, charming, loyal, and a dirty talking daredevil. Jimmy may be rough around the edges, but with a makeover he could be just the man Lizzy needs for her new campaign. Working together is frustrating as Jimmy is becoming James, but also since he constants tempts Lizzy. They are from different worlds, but they see the best in each other. Million Dollar Devil is hot and sexy, yet there is plenty of conflict, tension, family drama, and banter.
Jimmy/James was a delicious and sexy alpha male with a big heart that only Katy Evans could write. Lizzy and James smoldered and ones the fire got hot enough, WOW! Lizzy has spent her life trying to please her overbearing father who has never believed enough in her. When she is takes with the new campaign and makes an unknown James the face of their new line, she molds him into the perfect man that everyone loves. This story had some twists and turns and realizations for both of them about life. I couldn’t put this book down
I enjoyed reading Million Dollar Devil. Elizabeth Banks is vying for CEO of her fathers company. She feels that he doesn’t trust her to run it because she isn’t a man. While looking for the new face of the company’s new suit line, she meets Jimmy. Jimmy is a rough around the edges daredevil who gets paid to do stunts on YouTube. He’s also been raising his much younger brother since their parents died. He’s a very good looking guy, she just needs to teach him how to be a gentlemen. Jimmy aka James and Elizabeth are attracted to each other, but have to learn to mix their life styles to have their relationship work. I think Elizabeth found out a lot about herself when she was spending time with James. She learns what is important in life, and it isn’t her fathers approval.
Katy Evans has delivered another great love story in her trademark gripping style. As always once you start one of her books you are drawn into the world she weaves and you become invested in the tale she tells. She will have you swooning from beginning to end with Jimmy.
I loved the characters Katy has given us. The sexual tension between Lizzy and Jimmy is palpable, a slow burn that has you on the edge of your seat waiting to see when Lizzy will give in to her feelings. The banter between them was engaging and thoroughly enjoying.
Wonderful story that makes this a must read
Million Dollar Devil was fun and sexy! Perfect summer read.
Katy has once again given us a swoon worthy alpha male . James Rowan claims to be no Prince Charming . He is a gruff, street smart, sexy but banged up bod and internet sensation daredevil ! Lizzy is a smart, sassy, business minded woman from the right side of the tracks…. so they say. She is out looking for the next big thing and hopefully prove to herself and her father that she is not just a pretty face but a savvy busniess woman .
The moment she ducks into the seedy corner bar she is certain she is out of her comfort zone but she holds her head high and bellies up to the bar. James works out of the booth in the back of so-called bar and when these two meet it is electric. Lizzy won’t admit it and James well he does’t stop letting her know his intentions . They soon come to an agreement and this is their journey!!
Loved it ! Katy always writes these wonderful characters that always have the ability to yank me into their world!

I’ve read several books from this author, and she’s usually hit or miss with me. I don’t know what it is but sometimes she can knock it out of the park. Then there are times, like this one, where the story never really came together for me. I just really expected more than this.
I never connected with Lizzy. She grated my nerves from the beginning, and just never stopped. James was ok but he never held my interest the way I like the heroes too.
Even though I did finish this one, the main reason for my rating is my issues with the story itself. There was this conflict “situation” that I thought was not handled right. It didn’t help the story any in my opinion. Then one of the things I hate the most, the ending was rushed. It needs to play and wrap the story up, and this one just didn’t.
I LOVED this book! Everything about it is perfection. The banter between James and Elizabeth is funny and their chemistry sizzles. That’s one of my favorite things about a Katy Evans book – you can always feel the connection between the characters.
And Katy writes the most devilishly delicious male characters. A little wicked, a whole lot handsome, and cocky as hell.
This one was really fun story. Fresh idea. Jimmy was all kinds of hot and unrefined in the very best possible way. Lizzy was trying to be so perfect she forgot to be herself. I loved their banter, their chemistry and also the way they changed each other for the better. Great, easy read. Definitely recommend.
Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans is the first book in her new Million Dollar series full of chemistry and steaminess. Lizzy Banks wants to become the CEO for her father’s company. She needs to find the next face for the company and never expected it to be as difficult as it has become. Then she meets James Rowan. James is a social media celebrity who gets paid for the stunts he performs.
James and Lizzy have chemistry right from the start, but since James will be working for her, she wants to keep things professional. While she works to make him into what they need, she can’t deny how the man he is intrigues her. Lizzy is driven and strong. James is caring and strong and has no issues showing Lizzy how he feels. Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans was steamy and witty.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading.
While I’m a huge fan of Katy Evans, there were definitely some mixed reviews on this book, but I have to say I enjoyed it. There were some aspects and parts of the book that were a little confusing, but other than that the storyline was pretty spot on and didn’t have any unresolved questions or feelings by the end. Lizzy has spent her entire life trying to live up to the fact that she wasn’t born a boy to her father. Determined to take over the family business, she convinces him to let her take lead on the latest project. When her plan fails and she is drowning herself in her sorrows, she finds a diamond in the rough, Jimmy. With some convincing and lots of money, she gets Jimmy to sign on and transforms him into the sophisticated man needed for the job. But as the two work closely together, they end up developing feelings, but neither fit into the other’s world. Overall, it was a decent book, and I’d definitely read the next one in the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Million Dollar Devil is the first book in the Million Dollar series and the first book I have read by this author. It was very well written and engaged me from the start however I was really put off by both Lizzy and James to some degree. She let daddy run her life and James let Lizzy treat him like he wasn’t worth the dirt on her fancy shoes. The ending seemed a bit rushed and a bit of a let-down.
Despite all that however as I said, it did engage me from the start and I finished it pretty easily. I will certainly be on the look-out for the next book in the series.
3.5 ‘Devil’s dare’ Stars!

I am always ready for whatever this lady writes and Million Dollar Devil did sound right up my alley. I mean a sexy YouTube daredevil making a heiress to a fortune and business fall in love not with the perfect guy she has created but the actual man inside of that? Sounds great, right? And it surely was entertaining and sexy, as any word written by Katy Evans.
Million Dollar Devil is a standalone romance and in Katy’s new series called Million Dollar. As far as I can see, you can actually read this as a standalone because the next book is about another couple. This one focuses on Lizzy Banks, a woman decided to proof her worth at becoming the CEO of the family business to her cold father, and James Rowan, a Youtube influencer that is not afraid of dares in order to help the short family he has. And who can refuse becoming a perfect gentleman when you get a million dollar deal? Well, James and Lizzy got more than they expected.
I’ve fallen in love with my own creation. I polished a diamond, and now it’s flawless. Perfect. But it’s not mine to keep.
He is not mine to keep.
I was hooked after reading that short but intense prologue. It got me curious about the plot, these two characters and their story together. However, I do have to say it actually did take me a while to connect with Lizzy and James. Lizzy seems a bit superficial to me in the first half of the book, really focused on her father’s opinion and on changing James. James also seems a man mostly focused on getting in Lizzy’s pants. Finally, when we start learning on James’ past and the feelings they start having for each other, I got more into the story. In the end, I quite enjoyed Million Dollar Devil as a whole (especially the second half when the chemistry exploded and emotions started showing between Lizzy and James).
I need her to fall FOR ME.
I need her to know that she’s mine.
Therefore, my rating for Million Dollar Devil is 3.5 STARS because it was a fast-paced, entertaining story that I quite enjoyed. I definitely can assure you though that Katy Evans has written so much better stories (such as Real and the White House series). Still, I enjoyed this love story and the chemistry between James and Lizzy, especially what developed in the second half of the book. And of course, I am interested in reading the second book in the series after meeting Luke.
Beautiful heiress turns sexy daredevil into a perfect man, that’s the premise of this new book from Katy Evans.
A enjoyable read with some angst, a little heat, witty dialogue and a decent plot. I felt the ending was a little rushed but overall a good read.
Oh Devil! James “Jimmy” Rowan is hotter than hot!! Katy hooked me with the bar scene and couldn’t put the book down until the end!
James Rowan is a YouTube daredevil, who will do any dare he is challenged with. He is also responsible for his younger brother since both their parents are dead. Elizabeth Banks is the only heiress to the Banks fortune. On paper these two couldn’t be more different, in reality they just might have more in common that anyone would think. In private when they can be themselves and the world isn’t staring.
Lizzy hires James to be the face of Banks LTD new menswear line. Jimmy is all raw, rugged, hotness no woman can resist. Lizzy included! The sexual tension between these two is enough to set an entire block on fire. Jimmy doesn’t hide the fact he wants Lizzy, Lizzy will do anything and everything to fight the fact she wants him.
The build up of their relationship is hot, I mean start a fire hot!
James is an instant hit everyone loves him. Every woman in the room wants to be with him, and the men want to be him. This new success may go to his head just a little before he realizes. The scene with Charlie in the closet just broke my heart. When he realizes how much he let Charlie down.
Lizzy and James finally give into each other on a trip to LA, and man is it just as hot as the buildup was. However, when Lizzy’s dad hears a rumor she is pulled from her project with James.
So when Lizzy and James end things and James realizes what he let walk away he only has one thing left to do, go big or go home!
I love every Katy Evans book, and this is no different. 5 stars to Katy and The Devil himself!
