He’s sexy as sin and hotter than hell and—oh wait. What would you do to save a loved one’s life? Make a pact with the Devil? In Diana Kingston’s defense, it was the middle of the night in the deserted hospital chapel… surely it was just a dream. She hadn’t really sold herself to a brooding stranger to save her father’s life, right? Then she wakes and her father is fully recovered and a mysterious … life, right? Then she wakes and her father is fully recovered and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome—um, Devil? Yep, it was right there on the contract, Lucien Star, aka Lucifer Morningstar, that had been his name in the dream… Gulp. What would the Devil himself want with her? Sex. Three months of hot, sweaty, Friday night sex.
Ooookay. Breaking a pact with the Devil doesn’t seem like a smart move. So she’ll do it—but she won’t like it. Not much anyway. But she starts liking it – a lot—and every night they spend together, she likes it and Lucien a little more. Being with him allows her naughty side to come out and play, but Diana starts to see more than just a sexy-as-sin, rock-hard … er…Anyway, he might be Satan, but even he was an angel once. Kind. Noble. And she sees glimpses of that man still inside him… But how in Heaven’s name do you save the Devil from himself?

Midnight with the Devil, by Emma Castle. Her writing is special and unique. I’m not usually the one to read fantasy/ paranormal books, but I must say that the plot and drama in this romance story swept me away. I always say, “if the writer chooses a good plot, throw in heart pounding drama, and some sinfully hot sexual scenes. Then that writer has the makings of a good book”. Emma, like most talented writers, brings ecstasy to the reader’s imagination in this romantic love story. Diving into Midnight with the Devil, the reader can easily visualize the story as their imagination transports them to Lucians and Diana’s romance story. I think its the words that Emma chooses for her story that helps make this book easy to read. Each night while reading Lucians and Diana’s love story, I found myself getting excited about cozying up to the book at night. Let’s briefly go over the story.
Diana, has found herself making a deal to save her father with someone whom she would never have imagined that would answer her request. Lucien Star, a.k.a Lucifer himself. Yes, you read that correctly. The dark angel cast from heaven. The evil of darkness himself.
Now, you might be asking, “how is it, Diana has called upon the one demon whom we all have come to know as the, “devil”, for a favor? SPOILER ALERT! The answer is, he found her. That’s the only spoiler that I will give you. Unfortunately for Diana, she has found herself at a tragic decision in her life.
To save the one person who means so much to her, she made a deal with Lucien. The deal is that she has to spend every Friday with Lucien for three months, to do with as he pleases. She must do all the request that he demands of her. Bondage. Check. Red neck tie.
Check. Exotic and romantic interludes in unimaginable places. Check. A man with a sinfully sexy God given body and a dangerous tongue that can make a woman faint. Check.
Check, and check! Not knowing what to expect, Diana shockingly gets caught up in the world of Lucien. She explores Lucien dark and steamy erotic passionate nights, that most women crave from a man. He shows her the illicit thoughts and fantasies that Diana only fantasied about in her dreams. During these hot and sensual moments, Lucien fights the emotions of falling for the spell that Diana hast cast upon him.
Finding himself stuck between answering the demands from hell and wanting to wake up to Diana every morning. Lucien looks back on the actions that he has committed, that has placed him where he’s at. Before Diana or Lucien conclude their three month deal, tragedy strikes. Two souls experience a life altering change of events that only He, himself has the power to change. I recommend this book with two snaps and a, “ What is this?
A feather? It’s so beautiful. Until next time my fellow readers… read on.
It was a good HEA. I liked the characters and the plot too. It reminded me a lot of the TV show though with a few twists. I wasn’t crazy about the domination although that let up and I enjoyed the story more. Looking forward to reading the next book.
Great so far haven’t finished it yet
At first I thought I would not like this story but I figured I would give it a try and gosh I am sure glad I did. I couldn’t put it down! Great plot! What a page turner. I highly recommend this story.
I was put off in the beginning because the book almost sounded like the tv shows Lucifer and Supernatural had been smashed together. However, I am so glad I stuck with it. Just a sweet story about falling in love with the devil. Recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved Diana’s pure love for her family, willing to do anything to save them. Even make a deal with the devil himself. He sees Diana as a means to keep his gates secure. Lucifer has one thing left from his time as The Morning Star. But when he first kisses Diana? Well, that experience might as well just replaced his last heavenly moment before his fall.
I loved how their story developed and evolved. Learning that Diana’s sole existence was for one specific purpose was interesting, but learning what that purpose was? That was mind blowing!
It was a hell of a story, pardon the pun, intended, with an unpredictable direction. Pretty steamy so you might want to reconsider reading it if you are easily offended by such things as really hot sex or devil worship stuff. I had to keep reading to see where it was going to end, which I will leave open in case you do want to read and not spoil it for you.
I couldn’t get past chaper 3, it was Luke reading the t.v. program Lucifer. Not original at all.
I couldn’t put this book down! I feel like I could have read this book forever and enjoy all the twists and turns of the story while the author brings you down a road of forbidden romance and ethical dilemmas. A very sexy and enticing read indeed!
Interesting erotic twist on Paradise Lost
I really enjoyed this story. It was well written, had great characters and it was hot. I immediately checked for other books by this author to read. Give it a try, it is definitely worth a read!
too many loose ends, but not a bad light read
This novel is not for the faint of heart. If you do not enjoy erotica/romance novels that feature religious figures, then do not read this novel. In this novel the heroine gives her soul and 12 Friday nights of passion to Lucifer in exchange for her father’s life. The arrangement is not what either of them expected and neither are they. And is God and his army of angels trying to interfere with this deal? The characters in this novel were interesting and the ending, though HEA, was not what I expected. Overall this novel was a good read.
I really liked this book. Lucien and Diana were wonderful characters. There was plenty of sex but, for me, that was secondary to the developing relationship between the main characters. I didn’t expect such a wonderful HEA
Ending not what I was expecting. Enjoyed this book from beginning to end.
Ages old premise of good vs evil – but a surprising ending. Loved the characters.
great book!
Fantastic book! I loved this story! It is very hot and steamy but has a heartbreaking twist. The ending makes up for the heartbreak!
Loved it! Well written & easy to read, as well as a good tale!
Loved this book!
