This is book 5 of 7. This time up its Merrie Silver and Max Gregory. I saved this one until last. I found it hard to read. Although it was a good story I don’t like books that flip back in time and also the added content for phoebe moon. I did finish because it went with series. Also longer then it need to be.
I enjoyed revisiting Bliss.
What I liked:
The writing style
The characters
Standalone
HEA
Epilogue
I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Merry and Max get a second chance. Merry has locked herself in a world of secrets, hiding, and running. Max does not understand why she left him before, but cannot stop himself from wanting to keep her the second time. This couple has steam and an understanding of each other that comes from real friendship. I love how Merry encourages Max to go after his dreams. I love how Max is willing to sacrifice everything for Merry’s safety.
Merry’s family is very interesting and the reader gets to see her parent;s grow through the story also.
There is s suspense element in this story that is different from the other books in the series. I love how Merry gets to reveal all of her secrets and finally be herself.
As always, the little town of Bliss is a riot you don’t want to miss.
4.5 stars
What happens when the daughter of a infamous jewel thief falls for the love cursed son of a jeweler? You get this delightful tale from Jamie Farrell. Merry Silver’s childhood consisted of constantly moving to stay one step ahead of her father’s potential arrests. Once her parents divorced, her mother continually married, and is now on marriage seven (or is it eight?), and her father continues to steal. Because of all this turmoil, Merry has written a series of best selling children’s books inspired by her childhood, under a pen name Amber Finch. One year ago, she met Max at a book signing for another author. They struck up a friendship, that quickly became more. Then Merry just disappeared. It is a year later and Merry is back in Bliss, Max’s home town, for her mother’s wedding. Will the wedding go off without a hitch? Will Merry’s father steal the famous ring on display at Max’s jewelry store? Will Max learn all of Merry’s secrets? This is a great, fun read.
In this story we finally meet Max who has been in the background through the series. Whoa, he is divine and so heartwarmingly good.
Merry has Daddy issues that affected their relationship a year ago and again now. She also hides a secret of who she really is under her protective shell.
This story is very easy reading and the characters will charm you!
Misfit brides had me hooked on book one! I laughed and looked to every spare minute I had to escape to these heartfelt and happy stories. I think I had my nose in a book for three days straight! Enjoyable and exciting to see a new book each time
LOVE it! Merry is a fabulous character, dealing with a father who is a thief has forced her to move repeatedly, always being the new girl which turns into never having friends. She finds her passion in writing, a fabulous series for children about Phoebe Moon. As Merry faces life’s daily challenges, we get to hear Phoebe in her head, essentially her 13 year old alter ego, which I absolutely loved. When she finally thought she found a normal life and a boyfriend, Max, her father interferes and all her dreams are dashed. But then, her serial marrying mother, plans a wedding in Bliss and she lands right back into Max’s orbit. Max loves Merry and doesn’t understand why she disappeared. Of course, the fact that he owns a jewelry store and her father is a jewel thief, well, that can be a challenge. Can Merry find a way to overcome her fears and allow herself to find a HEA? Or will she run again? Max has his own fears to face after taking time to care of his ailing grandparents, he works for the family but his true passion is old cars. Will he find the courage to pursue his dream while capturing Merry’s heart? This is a fun, laugh out loud, sexy romance that surprised me several times and just gave me that happy escape.
Merry has been living in her parents’ shadow for most of her life. Her mother has been married more times than one hand and her father is a notorious jewel thief. Max helps run With This Ring jewelry shop best known for the Mrs. Claus diamond ring in Bliss, the most married town. Merry ran out on Max a year ago after a brief relationship but she is back. Her mother is getting married again and her dad is out to get the Mrs. Claus diamond. Max sees Merry again but is his love enough to keep her in Bliss or will keep her plans to jump ship once the wedding is over. Can Max get rid of his curse and Merry find her happily ever after? I love the Misfit Brides series. Great characters you get attached to and want to find out what happens next in their lives.
