One of my TOP FIVE favorite series in the CBA!
The Mark of the Lion series are some of the best books I’ve ever read. Once you’ve read the first book in the series, you’ll feel like you must read the others. I read these quite some time ago, but still have fond memories of the main characters.
I was so glad I had the next book in this trilogy when I got to the end of book 1… Not much else got done while I was reaching through these stories!
Francine Rivers dominates the Inspirational market with her beautifully written saga, Mark of the Lion. I discovered this saga seven years ago and had read it each year, shared the series with many friends and still treasure each of the characters. Take a look if you’re looking for a saga that will make you laugh, cry and hope all at the same time!
This is the first book in one of my favorite book series, so much so that I have the hard copy books and plan to get the Kindle copies as well.
Hadassah, Marcus, Julia, Atretes, and other characters you will meet are like so many of us, and their witness, the ways they see Christ and reject or grow in faith are presented realistically, and not …
Best series I have ever read. None better. If you like christian historical fiction, you have to read this series.
This amazingly well-written book is the first in one of my favorite series I’ve ever read. Full of drama, it managed to cause me to take an introspective look at myself several times throughout the story. I found myself inspired by how the main character reacted and how she held to her faith. The story line is compelling, and it was very hard …
This is one of the best series I have ever read. Takes you back in time and gives you the perspective of life from early Christian lives
BEST BOOKS I’VE EVER READ. PERIOD. I never knew I could relate so strongly my world to that of first-century Romans. These books will certainly keep you in the edge of your seat! And there’s s omething in them for everyone!
This is one of my all time favorite book series. I couldn’t wait to get to the next book to see what was going to happen. Great characters. Great depiction of what life must have been like.
Historical novel, Development of Christianity in Imperial Rome.
5 Stars A favorite!
This series was life changing for me. The faith of one girl touched many lives, influencing and drawing them to Christ. You will laugh, cry and be spellbound from the first page to the last of the third book.
A must read!
This is an excellent series of historical, 1st century fiction. Rivers ties in a couple of Biblical characters, though not as primary characters. It is a glimpse of slavery in Roman times and how God shows up in trials for His glory,, though not always in easy ways. It starts with a Jewish slave girl who is a Christian, the family who owns her, …
This is one of the best female Christian authors there is. I have read and own all of her books in every version. Hardback, paperback, kindle and audio. That good
I pray that when the day comes I stand for Jesus like the people in this collection of books. Characters of incredible faith, strength and courage fill the pages with their passion for Christ.
This series is a must read. I can’t say enough about how much this well-written series stayed with me and inspired me to be a better Christian long after I was done reading.
Francine Rivers is an exceptional storyteller. Her characters are always well
developed and believable. Biblical fiction is one of my favorite genres.
The storyline pulled me in right away. This story is full of rich characters that brought forth every emotion. This is the best biblical historical fiction that I have read, with the main character being fictional yet there are glimpses of true historical figures through the book. If you read this book you’ll need to finish up with the series, it …
This is one of my very favorite novels. Wonderful and challenging portrayal of what it means to live a life of faith in God in a hostile world.
