“Love is savage, love is blind, love is something they may not find…”Once upon a time, there was a young girl who lived in a battered trailer, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. One day, she fell down The Elite Kings’ rabbit hole. Sucked into a dark vortex of lies, hate, and deceit, and spat out by money, glitz, and power. There were things this little girl didn’t know, things she was about … know, things she was about to find out and secrets that have been kept from her. Those secrets were guarded by the boys that were about to smash her world open and tear it all apart…
He may be a Malum, but she is a Stuprum, born into this world but neglected by the choice of her mother. Her eyes may not glisten with stars, but they roar with fire, and when she finally reaches her peak, it’s that same fire that will burn.
Them.
All.
Down.
My name is Tillie Stuprum, and my story is not like the rest.
Everything she thought she knew is a fabricated version of the truth. I’m Nate Riverside-Malum, the one your girl whispers about to her friends and whose initials are scratched into your back. Her story is not like the rest of them, because her story is dead.
more
I finally got my hands on Nate’s story! I’ve been dying to get a glimpse inside his head to see what really goes on in there for ages.
I’m staying away from the storyline in this review because, as with any Amo Jones’ books, it’s best to go into this knowing as little as possible.
We met both Nate and Tillie in the previous Elite Kings books (if you haven’t read them, what are you waiting for?) and I’ve been impatiently waiting to get their story. Their already complicated relationship gets even more messed up in this book. There’s a thin line between love and hate and these two have it blurred so much, no one knows where the line is anymore. Nate shows a different side in this book than we’ve seen previously from him. There’s a calculated cruelness in the way he does things now but it’s hard to truly hate him because he also lets his softer side out and that will make you want to swoon (and swoon I did. So many times). Tillie wasn’t what I was expecting at all. I wasn’t expecting to like her as quickly or as much as I did and I’m definitely rooting for her to get her hea. This girl will win you over so fast. She’s probably going to make you want to shake her at some point but you’ll want to do it lovingly. There’s just something about her.
Nate and Tillies story is packed with betrayal, lies, secrets and twists galore. It’s fast paced, raw and emotional. The Elite Kings are as intense (and hot) as always and the chemistry between certain characters will leave you needing a cold shower.
Malum: Part 1 was everything I’ve come to expect from the brilliant, messed up place that is Amo Jones’ mind. She is my Queen of all things twisted, no one else does f*cked up mind games like she does. She messes with my mind and has me questioning everyone and everything and I love it! I can’t wait for part two of Nate and Tillies story.
“Don’t let Nate’s pretty face fool you, though. The devil furnishes his darkest souls with the prettiest smiles.”
My brain is tired from reading this story. I strained it too hard trying to figure out WTF? Just when I think I’ve got shit figured out BOOM! Now that I’ve turned the last page, multiple times to be sure it was really the end, my mind won’t shut off. I think I might have PTSD.
Oh, did I mention that I loved it? Yes, that too. I love it when the author takes me to the dark side and reminds me why I keep reading her books. She gives me exactly what I want, again and again.
I hope you weren’t expecting any book details. That’s so not going to happen. All I can tell you is how Tillie describes her and Nate. “It’s fire and ice and when it collides, it explodes and those closest to us get hit with the shrapnel.” So, accept this as a warning to proceed with caution. It’s dangerous and addictive and HOT! See ya at the end of Part 2, the line forms here…
Rating:
It’s a mad mad world!
The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance:
Heat/Steam:
Story/Plot:
World building:
Character development:
The setting: The Hamptons, New York
The Hero(s): Nate Riverside Malum – second to leader of the Elite Kings Club, Bishop and step-brother to Madison. Nate was quite the player until he met Tillie, but even after she disappeared he went back to his old antics. When he found out that she had hidden her pregnancy from him, he claimed that he hated her.
The heroine: Tillie Stuprum – best friends with Madison and Tatum. Tillie grew up with an abusive father and was taken captive by her crazy mother Katsia, who was the leader of the Lost Boys. Shortly after being rescued, she and baby Micaela are taken by her sister Peyton and Carter. Peyton is part of “The Circle” and she is planning to take down the Kings.
The Love Story: Tillie met Nate through Madison and they were together a very short time. They had a terrific weekend at the Kings cabin until she found some pictures of Katsia while pregnant with the due date on the back (just happened to be her birthday). She and Nate fought and she disappeared soon after that and Nate didn’t see her again until they showed up on the island to rescue her and the baby who was a silver swan, so was going to be killed.
I must say though, that I always liked Nate in the first three books, he is terrific with his step-sister Madison, but boy he can really be a mean boy when he wants to be. Though he would have to in order to be an Elite King. However, he sure can be cruel to women. I wasn’t liking him at all through most of this book.
I am not sure why men do this but they always say that they are upfront with women when they don’t want a relationship and they only want the benefits. However, they just don’t get it when the women catch feelings, like it absolves them from using women by being upfront about it. And maybe it does, since the girl knows what she is getting into and if she catches feelings it is her own fault. However, the guy should know that girls often catch feelings for a guy when they sleep together because being intimate often means more to girls. So I think that after a few times, a guy should just know this and at that point whether he is upfront about it or not, he is just a dawg…
And don’t even get me started on Tatum. I know she was with Nate first but there were no feelings involved and when he was with Tillie there were, so Tate completely broke girl code and that is unforgivable. (view spoiler)
There were so many twists and turns in this book and some really unexpected things happened. It seems just when I thought the story was getting out of the Elite Kings world and into some more normal territory, it got crazy weird again. Then the hits just kept coming. It seems whenever Tillie and Nate start to look like they are having a decent relationship, something happens. Also Madison and Bishop from the first three books were fighting throughout this book, which was mysterious. And that ending was awesome!
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
This book is an all-consuming and mind-shattering masterpiece!
An enthralling tale of exquisite madness masterfully woven with raw feelings of internal torment and heartbreaking suffering, that’s going to leave its readers permanently asking for more.
I just can’t put this series down…I am ADDICTED….it has been like a drug to me and I have to have my fix all freaking day!!!
Talk about a series that keeps you on the edge of your seat..flipping those pages like a mad woman dying to get to the end!!
But OMG I only have one more book left and NOW I DON’T WANT IT TO END LOL
I am so happy I found your books Amo Jones!!!
If I could give this book 5 million stars I would, but even then, it wouldn’t be enough. Holly Molly, I thought the first three books were WOW, but MALUM is ten million F–king WOW. Amo Jones successfully ruined and marked me for life…This is not your typical Romance story, no, this is pure chaos!
MALUM is the fourth book in The Elite King’s Club Series by Amo Jones and I highly recommend you read the first three books in the series before you start MALUM. You will miss way too much, and trust me, you don’t want that, and of course, go in blind.
I love the first book in a series and the first couple from it, but with the Kings, my favorite Kings are Nate and Brantley. Nate because he is funny and a mother f–king Ho, and Brantley because he is dark, broken, and has something that will make you drool…
They are the Kings, they have unlimited power, they can do whatever they want, to whom they want, and nobody will persecute them…They rule the world!
I don’t know if I ever read about a character so complex as Nate. He is a complete contradiction…you never know with him. Just when you thought you got to know him and finally see the real Nate, he comes back around and slaps you on the face. You think you know him enough from the first three books, but you are dead wrong.
That is his mask…The playboy, the hilarious guy, the HO, that’s all a facade. In MALUM, you are knocked out by a full tornado of Nate’s emotions, struggles, and feelings. He is the second in command, Bishop’s right-hand man…But after all, he is human.
As much as I loved Nate, I really hate him. But OMG he is so hot and dirty…I don’t blame Tillie for not being able to resist him. But in this book, Nate is ruthless, raw, violent, dangerous. I thought Bishop was the monster, but no…Nate is a real beast and hot, ohh sooo hot…I think I am obsessed.
In the first two books, I didn’t like very much Tillie. Honestly, I didn’t even pay much attention to her. She didn’t inspire me very much trust. At one point I thought she was one of the bad ”guys”, a fake, a spy. I always imagined Nate with Tate. You know, Tate being BFF with Maddison, and Nate being BFF with Bishop, usually, things go this way. But nooo, NOT with Amo Jones. She doesn’t do the “usual” things and what is expected. She does the unexpected and makes you cry and scream.
So in the third book, Tillie really grew in my eyes and my feelings for her have changed drastically, and now, I really love her. She is so different than Maddison, more calculated, intelligent, she thinks before she acts. She’s the perfect match for Nate…She is his equal. Sassy and confident, doesn’t coward and doesn’t back down, bold and fearless, just like Nate.
This book is so full of emotions. The love and hate between Nate and Tillie, the chemistry is explosive…This is for sure the most intense, dark, mindf@ck, twisted, dark series I think I’ve ever read, and I think it’s going to be very hard to break down this one from my all time favorite series. It’s violent, dangerous and hot series ever…Definitely, forever a re-read to me.
I highly recommend this book…and this series!
Yet again Amo has written another masterpiece, and proven why she’s one of few authors that I’ll one click no matter what she writes.
Couldn’t put this book down, was enthralled from start to finish, and as usual she has dropped some bombs and left us hanging. Cannot wait to see what happens next.
What in the actual frickity frack?! Amo, you know I love you, but whoa!! You tapped into some other ish with this one. To say I loved it would be dumbing it down. It wouldn’t sufficiently tell you how I truly felt about this story. If you’ve met any of the Elite Kings before, you know that they’re a heck of a lot more than meets the eye. So far, Nate takes the cake on the whole looks can be deceiving thing because NOTHING I’ve learned so far prepared me for the man featured in this book. NOTHING!!
Boys like Nate are lethal, because you fall for their charm, their jokes, and their beautiful faces. By the time you find yourself lost in their darkness with their demons lurking around you, it’s too late. They suck you in with charisma and spit you out with sin.
Honestly, if you think you know something… if you think you have even the slightest hint of what you’re in store for … I’m here to tell you that you’re dead wrong.
Tillie has returned and needs help getting her daughter back. The world she returns to is like a culture shock. Everything’s different. Her man is with her friend and the game playing shows no sign of stopping. But Tillie is like a storm unto herself and like the eye of a hurricane, she’s chaos. Whatever is happening between Nate and Tate is sure to sour and I can’t wait to skip along amidst the ruins.
It goes against girl code, King or not.
YESSSS!! Why did I feel like this NEEDED to be said?
Hoes before bros!!
I’m in love with the way that Amo Jones crafted this Tillie character. She infused her with plenty of strength but wasn’t afraid to give her many instances to show her vulnerabilities. Her thoughts were honest. She didn’t lie to herself, which was a refreshing relief. She was damaged. She was sincere. She was outspoken. And she was desperate to be the best version of herself that she could be. She broke my heart and she gave me hope. What I appreciated the most about her was the way she pointed out what should have been obvious…
I never claimed to be mature or even sensible. My soul is deep and the deeper you are, the darker it gets. I’m reckless, impulsive, and I think I’m acquiring an anger problem.
Baby girl, feed that rage because I KNOW you’re going to need it.
Hmmm… how do I warn you about what’s to come? What to expect from this read? I have no clue. As I said, Nate was much more than I expected. At times I wanted to give him hugs and squeezes and gropes and tugs and fondles and… other times I wanted to smack him upside the head. He was brutal. He was cruel. He was sweet. He was broken. He was real. I can’t even begin to imagine what’s going to happen next because everything I thought I knew has just blown up in my face. It’s like no one is truly safe (I already knew that) and I don’t where the loyalties lie. What’s real? People rise from the dead, the evil don’t suffer enough, and love doesn’t really have a chance to blossom. Reading this book gave me a ton of answers and now has me asking a ton more questions. I’m on edge waiting to get my hands on Malum: Part II.
I am totally mind blown . I’m still trying to wrap my head around that I just read. I knew this book was gonna be epic but it went up and beyond everything expected.
“The devil furnished his dark souls with the prettiest smiles”
From start to finish I was hooked. I literally was taking my time to try make this book last but I couldn’t put it down. Tillie and Nate’s story is dark, raw and filled with so much emotion that you’ll be riding the waves of the emotional roller coaster along with the characters. My heart was shattered and left wanting more.
Definitely can’t wait for Malum part 2…bring it on Amo I’m so ready!!!
Dear God, this book. Amo is the queen of unexpected twists but she really outdid herself with this one. I can’t stop thinking about it. Like, I seriously woke up multiple times during the night thinking about it. Malum is sexy and scary, and horribly tragic in parts. Such a fantastic contribution to the Elite Kings world. I can’t wait for the next one.

5 TWISTED AF STARS!!!
Soul Searing! This story tore my heart out and left me questioning EVERYTHING! You won’t to able to stop thinking about it! It will haunt you!
MALUM was a complete and total mind bending experience!!! More questions. So much deceit! The ultimate heartbreak. I just want book 2 because I need to know…
This story will take over your mind. You won’t be able to put it down because you’ll want answers. If you were completely engrossed with the first three books, this will continue in that mindset and then completely EFF YOU UP!!!
Nate and Tillie were separated for a time but their attraction has not waned. Now Tillie is back but she has secrets of her own. You could cut the sexual tension between these two with a knife. Too bad Nate is stuck in the past and his hatred for her. His love for Micaela, their daughter, is what redeems him in some way because he is the ultimate alphahole! Nate is possessive, protective and incredibly sexy and HOT! But he is also cunning and ruthless! The Kings are still the ultimate secret keepers and masters of manipulation! Never forget that!
We got more of Brantley, which was interesting. He’s a broken soul. I cannot wait to get his story! I still can’t figure him out. I have a feeling his story will be just as twisted and filled with heartache.
You think you know what to expect, but you don’t. Prepare for anything…but even then you won’t be ready.
An incredible read that truly BLEW MY MIND and left me in total disbelief! Read it!
Like with every other Amo book, how the hell do you write a review?! There are no words in the English language that can accurately describe the messed up stories that come out of this lady’s imagination. The twisted, the dark, the crazy – it’s all there in black and white. Great characters, hidden meanings and a plot that leaves you screaming WTAF just happened there?!
This series is the biggest mind fuck ever. I have learned over the years not to take things at face value and always expect the unexpected from this author. I actually felt quite pleased with myself at one point that I worked out one of the twists… This story plays out in my brain long after the last page has been turned. I often find myself thinking back to events and connecting the dots days after.
I always finish Amo’s books with the biggest headache ever because I have been so engrossed in the story, concentrating really hard that my head just takes a pounding and I love that! Books that make you think, books that you have no idea the direction they are taking. There is no way on earth you could even second guess this author and that’s what makes her books so unique and original! I’ve definitely been Amo’d!
HOLY Mother F*CKER!
My mind is completely decimated after reading Malum by Amo Jones!
There is no way of getting pasted this mind f*ck! HELL NO!!!!!
I just need more to complete me now!!!!!! Pure Genius at its very best!!!
5 MASTERPIECE OF A MINDFUCK STARS!
How do you get over the biggest book hangover of your life? Seriously guys I can’t even tell you how much this book fucked me up! The BEST kind of fucked up! THIS is why we read! This gut wrenching soul crushing kind of love for characters and their story that consume you! This incredible writing that leaps from the pages grabs you by the heart and refuses to let go! I didn’t just read this book I lived and breathed every word! If you don’t feel like this after you read a book then you’re reading the wrong books!
Malum Part 1 is book 4 in The Elite Kings’ Club series by Amo Jones.
I could not wait for Nate & Tillie’s story! It was one of my most anticipated reads EVER and Amo Jones did not disappoint! They are so dysfunctional together but Amo Jones has a way of making you root for the most toxic couples! The fighting between them is just as hot as the sex but it’s the rare glimpses into their softer sides that make you yearn for them to find their way back to each other.
“Love is savage, love is blind, love is something they may not find…”
Malum is a wickedly tantalizing story that kept me hooked and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! The writing draws the readers in and will shock you page after page. The Kings are volatile and explosive and so deliciously lethal but make no mistake Tillie Stuprum is a force to be reckoned with and held her own solidifying herself as one of my top Amo Jones heroines!
“This is my world, not just theirs, and I feel the whispers of my ancestor’s echoing through my veins…”
And Nate? Where the hell do I even start?! I devoured every morsel of new information I learned about Nate Riverside Malum and although at times I wanted to kick him in the junk I also wanted to rip him from the pages and claim him as mine!
“Don’t let his face fool you. The devil furnishes his darkest souls with the prettiest smiles.”
Nate & Tillie’s story is a deliciously sexy and sinister MASTERPIECE of a mind fuck that will leave you breathless and begging for more!

I’m stupefied! Wtf did I just read! Omgomgomgomgomg! Wow! Like I have no words. This was amazing. Amo Jones really set this one up good and pulled out all the stop! Fantastic read! Do heed the trigger warning though
From the moment we met Nate in The Silver Swan I’ve been looking forward to his story. I knew that we had only just begun to tap the surface of Nate and who was. He wasn’t just the joker there was far too much to him, but did I expect all of THIS??? No! Not even a bit. I only thought that Madi and Bishop’s story was crazy.
And the heartbreak in this one!! When I saw Amo Jones but up a trigger warning at the start of the book I was like “ah hell, this is going to be some serious s*it if she is tossing that up* and while I am starting to understand, or I would like to say I understand but get real we never actually understand what she did and the point behind it didn’t make it any less hard.
Tillie, I felt like was that side character in a book you don’t give nearly enough credit to but when she makes her appearance you are speechless. She was no pushover and she stood up to Nate with the best of the and that is saying something.
At every turn there was something happening, or blood being shed and don’t get me wrong I am not complaining. I’ve yet to find another author like Amo that puts so much drama in her books where it doesn’t seem forced or overly done. Of course, I loved this book there is no doubt there. As with everyone else though I am ready to get into Malum: Part II and finish Nate’s story so that I can find out exactly what is going on with Brantley.
Oh, and just a side note. From my last review of book three Tacet a Mortuis I knew that Bishop and Madi’s story would have even more drama.
Ok so I am back now trying to find the words I want to use to describe this book to you. First off you will want to read the first three books to fully understand Nate and Tillie’s story. Man… I haven’t cried reading a book ever ( it takes a lot for me to cry) but this book and their story had my eyes tearing up. They hurt my heart so bad. There are still many questions that I have but I have started reading Malum part two and man everyone need to hold on!! This is all of their messed up worlds and we are along for the ride. With the way Amo writes it feels like I know these characters and when they hurt so do I, This entire series is amazing !!
This book was so fucking painful, there were parts that I felt like I was suffocating with the amount of grief these words reflected. This author gave us a bundle of light just to smash it, as long as our hearts. It hurt so fucking bad. My mind is still spinning from every tragedy that happened and how this book ended. Jones manages to leave us stunned every damn time.
The kings always seem to be a step ahead of everyone, there’s no reason in lying or trying to hide shit from them, because they always know. That’s the amount of power they have. It’s scary af.
These guys are completely fucked up, they love to play twisted games with the woman they love. They want to leave their marks on them, making sure that they never forget who they belong to, and scare every motherfucker that tries to mess with them. Because only them can break them, mark them.
It was strange, and really hard to see Nate behaving this way. We knew him as the jokester, fun and sweet guy from the previous books, but this Nate, damn, I’m kind of terrified of him. He’s hateful, mean, it’s like he has the devil in his body. And all that darkness is directed at Tillie. That girl has balls of steel to go against him. And I fucking love her for it.
I’m addicted to this series, as much as it pains me to read it, as much as it breaks my heart piece by piece with every book, I just can’t stop, it’s like a fucking drug. And now i need my next fix
And the mysteries continue to unfold
I am so glad this series has so many layers to it. Hot alpha-holes you love to hate, smoking hot steamy bits, and suspense and mystery all rolled into one.
I went in blind so I didn’t know that at this point we get totally different POVs. Nate and Tillies turn to torture us with their angst. Yes!!!
There is sadness in this book and I had wished at some point that part wasn’t true like it was deceit that we later uncovered but as of right now it isn’t that broke my heart. So please read her warnings.
Nate. Ugh, Nate. My favorite from the moment he introduced himself to Madison in the very beginning of the series. I knew his books were going to take me places that I wasn’t sure I wanted to go. I went anyways. And now my mind is completely effed. I don’t even know who I am anymore.
And Tillie. Such a strong character from the beginning. Do not even get me started on Brantley.
This was one of my most anticipated reads, and I devoured it. Mere hours after it arrived in my hot little hands, I am forever changed, and ready for Part 2.
I knew Amo Jones was the freaking queen of twisted, but this was a whole new level, one I don’t think I could have prepared for.
