“Love is savage, love is blind, love is something they may not find…”Once upon a time, there was a young girl who lived in a battered trailer, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. One day, she fell down The Elite Kings’ rabbit hole. Sucked into a dark vortex of lies, hate, and deceit, and spat out by money, glitz, and power. There were things this little girl didn’t know, things she was about … know, things she was about to find out and secrets that have been kept from her. Those secrets were guarded by the boys that were about to smash her world open and tear it all apart…
He may be a Malum, but she is a Stuprum, born into this world but neglected by the choice of her mother. Her eyes may not glisten with stars, but they roar with fire, and when she finally reaches her peak, it’s that same fire that will burn.
Them.
All.
Down.
My name is Tillie Stuprum, and my story is not like the rest.
Everything she thought she knew is a fabricated version of the truth. I’m Nate Riverside-Malum, the one your girl whispers about to her friends and whose initials are scratched into your back. Her story is not like the rest of them, because her story is dead.

Ok so I am a little behind here! Oh my GOSH, this book had me holding my breath, sobbing, and now my heart is racing with how that ended. I don’t know who we are trusting… Nate and the Kings, or Gabriel who I detest btw. Ok, yea I do know who to trust. I think. That ending though back from the dead??? I guess I could tell you things I am reading this after it’s been published. This isn’t making any sense. Lol but READ THIS SERIES! I promise you want to read it! Amo Jones always blows my mind!
If you’re looking for an engaging plot with complicated, realistic characters and just the right amount of romantic tension with a dash of mindfuckery, you’ll find most of the above in the newly released novel from Amo Jones entitled, Malum Part I, destined to become this year’s mindfuck of the year. Part one of a two-part story and book 4 in the Elite Kings Club series, this novel’s story centers on the romantic and tough trials of a young Tillie Stuprum who was escaped the dark clutches of life in Riverside after being sucked down the never-ending vortex of doom. Jones manages to offer a fresh perspective on an otherwise tired genre and is, in my opinion, the best written and properly executed book in the whole Elite King Clubs series, written with taste and well thought out.
Though the novel’s plot will ring familiar with devotee’s of the genre, with similarities to other books, Jones provides enough nuance and surprise developments to keep even the most jaded and twisted reader engaged. Plus, this is an Amo Jones novel, an author famous for her fucked up words and even more fucked up characters. While the novel is charmingly plotted, I did spot a few misspelled words and one of two situations that were clumsily constructed, and the characters’ actions and speech were predictable when they’re not wooden. Nevertheless, it’s noteworthy that despite these minor drawbacks, the author’s style and voice keep the novel afloat. At worst flowery and at best sublime, Jones has the voice of a poet. Her spare economy of words left me rereading even the simplest of passages in delight. Her use of imagery and figurative language are enchanting, and the words simply flow off the page. This made the plot twists and turns tasteful and very well executed. I was addicted to every word I read, yet hesitant with every breath.
I tried to go into this novel completely blind to maximize my reading experience and I recommend that. I didn’t read the blurb or any of the snippets and teasers Jones shared along the way. I put all my trust in Jones and the hope that she could deliver a story I’d love, and boy, did she deliver. I am devoted Amo Jones fan and have read all her works, but I haven’t fallen this hard for an Amo Jones novel since Razing Grace. To be very honest, I haven’t felt that spark since RG and I am so happy that fireworks were firing off the pages once again.
(Caution: sensitive people might get their feelings hurt in this next paragraph)
Reading this novel can be compared to white people in scary movies. Now we all know, if a black person walks up to a haunted house, they wouldn’t even risk being around it for more than 10 secs. They would hightail it out of there so fast, it’s like they weren’t there in the first place. Now I don’t know if this can be said the same for anyone else, but it’s always the white people who make dumbass decisions when it comes to horror films. And I’m always that person who is screaming at my TV screen telling them to get the fuck out. You go down a dark alley, you get the fuck out. So basically, I was the white person in this scenario when it came to this novel. Super curious as to what it could entail, but also scared as hell, knowing damn well it wasn’t going to turn out well for me. But I am not ashamed to say, I died a thousand deaths and it was so worth it!
This book does indeed end in a cliffhanger, so if you absolutely despise cliffhangers, you might need to wait for the second part to come out before you can truly appreciate Jones’ art. However, if you’re a risk taker, go for it, because it’s a pretty big cliffhanger.
If you are coming into this book from the first three books in the series then you’ll understand my mumbled ranting that’s going to come in these next few sentences. If you are hoping to read as a standalone, I suggest skipping the next two paragraphs.
While reading this, I struggled with some of the characters that I loved. Basically, I found Madison to be a pussy ass bitch compared to Tillie, and the same can be said about Bishop. While they aren’t the main characters in this novel, they were the couple that brought the Elite Kings Club obsession to life. But getting to see the perspective from Tillie and Nate changed my views. They were both subpar and it really struck me how dominant Tillie and Nate were despite not always being in the spotlight. I definitely loved Nate so much more than Bishop. And while they were similar, both being major assholes with control issues, I found that Nate had untapped darkness inside of him, that only came out with Tillie.
It doesn’t need to be said, but there is a dark sexual tension that emits from this novel. While it continuously builds, when it finally explodes, it’ll be too hot to touch let alone read about. I love that when it comes to sex scenes, it’s tasteful with a shit load of dirty and fucked; my favorite kinda scene. And while there are still plenty of unanswered questions, I trust all will be revealed in the next book and I can’t wait.
This book honestly has it all. My heart was full of love and life, tinted with the darkness only the Kings can provide and just about died when things went out of left field. Can I just tell you that the angst in this book will leave you breathless. It’s not a love story. No, this is the ultimate mind fuck romance. And if there were even such a genre, there is no doubt that Amo Jones would be the Queen. My favorite book of the whole series and I am excited to where The Elite Kings Club will take us in the future.
Just when you think Madship is the ultimate couple here comes Nate and Tillie. This book had a huge shocker of a moment that struck me hard. Something that would break anyones heart. Tillie is swirling in a world she doesn’t understand and trying to fight her feelings for Nate. Malum continues spilling all the secrets of the Elite Kings and I am devouring every one. On to part 2 as this book ends on quite a revealing moment!
I waited till both parts of this duo was released before reading. After the crazy cliffhanger, I’m happy I won’t have to torture myself. This was a fantastic read and a great addition to the ongoing plot from the first three. Lots of twists and turns; lots of happy moments and miserable moments. You feel for both characters through the rough times, and especially in the horrible time. I hope the best for both characters, so I’ll be moving right on to see what happens to them.
Loving this book was inevitable! 5 stars
Holy smokes, that ending left me shocked! I had to say that first, now I will go back! Nate and Tillie’s story starts in the first three Elite Kings Club books, so you need to read those before you read this book. This book captured me from the beginning and did not let me go until that shocking ending. Nate has darkness inside him that he masks on the outside with charm, fun and smirks, and it was fascinating to get to know all his layers. Tillie has seen through his outside to the darkness, and she accepts it which I adored. Nate and Tillie played games with each other at the beginning of this book, and it hurt my heart. They said they hated each other, but as the saying goes there is a thin line between love and hate especially when they loved each other first. I felt like they finally got to a good place then a huge twist happened, and I broke down in tears. I cannot say more than that. Then the shocking ending happened, and I cannot wait to read the next book! These books are “soap opera, Quentin Tarantino style,” and that is why I love them so much and highly recommend them!
This series is dark, gritty and mesmerizing!
“Nate and Tillie burned me from the inside out, I’ll never be the same! “This book absolutely stunned me the Raw Intense emotional impact of this story just WOW it left me breathless! this story is intensely provocative and powerful!!
“ Amo is the QUEEN of DARK and TWISTED-MIND-GAMES, Her writing is MASTERFUL and CUNNING I couldn’t put this book down it OWNED ME!!
This is one of the BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ!!
“ 10 RIVETING STARS!”
I seriously don’t know where to start! This book is by far one of the best reads, if not the best that I have read this year so far and I’m sure it will stay at the top for a very long time. If you’ve read any of the Elite Kings Series, you know what to expect from Amo and this series but let me just stop you there. Everything that happens in this book could never have been thought off by anyone except Amo Jones.
I feel in love with Nate when I first started reading this series and learning that the next chapter in the series would focus around him and Tillie, I was over the moon. Getting to see more of these characters was amazing, their story is so dark and twisted but so perfect. Perfect in the sense that Nate’s character is a seriously dark and twisted character, but he is fiercely protective over his loved ones. At times when I was reading this story I wanted to smack him in the face, but I knew that this cruel and broken character had a softness to him, one that we rarely got to see.
Unless you were Tillie. Tillie had a way of breaking Nate’s tough exterior and the ability to bring him to his knees. Their chemistry was off the charts, you could just feel the sexual tension between the characters, it was oozing off each page.
Tillie was Nate’s counterpart. She fitted into Nates world without really trying or forcing a relationship with him or any characters. She has this toughness that allowed her to handle Nate’s cruelness and believe he was extremely cruel at times to Tillie. She wasn’t shy of her vulnerabilities and she didn’t hold back from saying what needed to be said. Throughout the story I felt connected to Tillie’s character and my heart broke when she experienced something that no one should have to go through.
This book is one the of best dark romances that I have read. It throws out so many curve balls that you never know what is happening, you are totally engrossed in the story, the characters and the WTF moments. Let me just tell you that when you finish this book you will be left with some many unanswered questions it will leave you scratching your head.
Amo Jones is an absolute genius with her words. Believe me when I say that the Kings are back, and they are even better! I can’t wait to read Malum: Part 2, I am sure we will be in for one hell of time.
Nate.
Nate, Nate, Nate.
I have loved Nate from the moment we met and I just knew that he would be the one to crush me. Bishop and the other Kings can bend me, but Nate is the only one that can break me. And break me he did. There are so many sides that we get to see from him; the funny, sarcastic guy with that lopsided grin, the ruthless, second in command King, and the playboy. But in Malum Part 1, it’s the caring, devoted fatherly side that has me falling for him even more. Not just me, either… Tillie can’t help herself from realizing the true depth of her feelings.
And Tillie… such a strong girl. I have also loved her from day one and I will always, always be on her side. She has been through so much and continues to wade through the garbage, but she does it. She can handle whatever it is.
This book is twisty, dark, and dangerous. But it’s also devastating and your heart will be crushed when you finish. Amo Jones is the queen of twisting your mind and your heart up, but somehow always finds a way to smooth them out before she’s done. Malum is everything I’ve come to love about Amo Jones and I don’t know how I existed without the Kings in my life.
This book was everything!! The best so far in this series! So much emotion going on while reading this book! Amo is the queen of the twists and I’m stunned! Amazing!
This book is everything I was hoping/afraid it would be. I have been putting it off until part 2 was out, and then after that, as much as I wanted to read them, I didn’t want it to be over.
This installment of TEK rolls right on from where Tacet ends. The chaos and the confusion is exactly what we’ve come to expect from these boys and their supporting cast.
Just when you think you start to see a future, it’s all ripped to shreds, from the most innocent to the most evil. Hold on, the ride is bumpy and it’s only going to get worse.
My heart has been ripped out and is bleeding on the floor in front of me! Amo Jones is some kind of word wizard. Every page I read that drags me deeper and deeper into the Elite Kings world is shocking and mind bending and absolutely epic. I am loving Nate and Tillie’s story even though it hurts so much. The twists and turns and secrets are just as huge as in Bishop and Madison’s story. I can’t believe it took me so long to find this world. I’m never coming out!
Holy freaking fudgesticks!!! I pre-ordered this book……and then left it on my kindle because I didn’t have the lady balls to read it before book two came out. So I am going to wipe the tears from my face, pull up my big girl pants and dive straight into Part 2! That’s all you are getting! My head and my heart are smashed beyond repair! I need Gin, lots of Gin! Amo Jones is a freaking rockstar Queen!!
This is made me cry so hard! But I loved it!
5 wth stars!! This is my favorite book of the series so far!!
This is the 4th book of “The Elite Kings Club” series. And may not be read as a stand alone. Ends in a crazy ass cliffy so be prepared!
Holy Shit!! This book was a little bit of everything. Amazing! I knew Nate and Tillie were gonna grab me and suck me in. Madison irritated me quite a bit in this book too. I think I have gravitated towards Tillie since the beginning. Oh and Tate is like worthless to me. Nate is a whole different SOB in the book. I had no clue of his colors. I found out real quick.
This book split me open. I was distraught for quite awhile. My heart still hurts and I fear what is to come. Because there was a moment in this book that changed the course of Every. Single. Thing.
I think the writing was perfection in this book. And it flowed beautifully. This author pulls you in with the hope and then turns the blades on and starts ripping you to shreds. But even being shredded I am in love and on to the next book!!
REVIEW: 3 SOLID STARS
“When Nate bears his soul to you, he takes yours as collateral.”
This entire review will consist of me battling between my own frustrations and my love for this story and the characters. It was a rough ride, but I am not entirely sure it could have really been told by anyone else, any other way. While I realize a 3 star review isn’t indicative of my LOVE for this book, I truly did love the storyline and the characters. I loved the actual plot and the depth that Nate had. Nothing in this book was surface scratching, and believe me when I say that I was easily confused 65% of the time. There was SO much going on, and so many pieces to put together. What a ride.
I love Amo Jones
I love her crazy books
But dammit, they’re frustrating! Frustratingly good, but frustrating nonetheless.
But I couldn’t walk away.
I try really hard to be fair in my reviews. I don’t ever want to come across as me trying to find little things here and here to complain about, but I also know that I want to always give an honest opinion. I try to enjoy my reads, but I also have a really hard time accepting things in books that don’t really work. Drinking? Drugs? Normal teenager stuff and I know this happens. But running the town? Murder and mayhem? Ordering drinks in a restaurant? Nope. And the drug use? It felt ‘token’. Basically placed to give a darker edge to the characters that we didn’t really see in the first three books. It just felt far fetched to me in some spots, and it didn’t feel like there was enough believability to the amount of power and destruction these teenagers wielded.
But I was dying for answers
Amo is so authentic in her storytelling style. There is no other like her and I feel like the only reason I was able to get through this story was because I was so intrigued with not only what was going to happen, but also to see what other crazy parts surfaced. She had so much personality infused into her characters, they were honestly their own persons. Were they all alphas with testosterone coming out their pores? Yes, but the charisma each character demonstrated gave a level of intimacy between the action and the reactions of everything surrounding them. There was a deeper meaning to everything, but not always did I see the ‘why’ right away and I appreciated that. There was a lot of discovery with this duet, with some parts reading so vividly, yet there were other parts I was so confused by all the jumble that I couldn’t make heads or tails about what was going on or who was doing what. Sex scenes were the hardest to picture…

Amo Jones takes your heart and mind and puts them in a blender. Then forces you to drink it up while she laughs. This story is intense. Part 4 of this series did not disappoint. Secrets, heartache, betrayals, despair. These characters make you love and hate them all at once. I could not put the book down. I’m so glad I waited for book 5 so I don’t have to wait on the story. Well done!
Dear Readers,
Malum comes off as powerful and tormenting as a hurricane. It is my first read by Amo Jones and I can’t even begin to start my review with this book, may Almighty have mercy on me. It is one of those books which you want to end as soon as possible just to see what’s in store for you while also wish it never ends because you can’t wait enough for Book #2. Ah, it’s dark, mysterious, cynical, passionate, tormenting and beautiful in all right places. It is sexy enough to keep you gutted right in the pages and filthy enough to dampen your panties. Or, whatever, gah. I am not in right mind really. It’s too much for my poor little brain. I simply wonder how to do justice with my words for this book?
This is a story of Nate and Tillie’s ill-fated pairing, for now. I am so hooked to Nate’s alpha attitude and of course, he being an asshole doesn’t seem to disappoint at all. Tillie comes out to be even stronger than ever, protecting her long lost secret and getting hurt, broken, twisted and rammed over repeatedly. There were times that I strongly felt an urge to stab this Nate right in guts ruthlessly but all in good time. He wants to hurt Tillie in the most twisted way, he treats her like some garbage but it doesn’t waver Tillie, the least. She endures everything. Ah, I cried so much for their broken love story, damn it. My tears burnt hotly, my body on fire with each word, each dialogue like a stab to my heart. The hate, the games, their tears, it was all too consuming. Mark my words people, Malum is the best book ever written by Amo Jones. If you’ve never read a book before by her, this will certainly make you feel like she’s a GODDESS! And she stood out perfectly.
Dear Amo,
It’s no secret that you’re a box of pandora full of ideas and talents. You’re a true gem in this world of talents. I can’t thank you enough for Malum, for introducing me to a world so dangerous that our personal pain just get faded with the fictional ones. You came like a wrecking ball with this book. You slayed like a queen. Your writing technique is too good to be true. You’re characters are as dark in contrast to the sweet-bubbly personality as you are. You gave the world to cling on, a reason to just live for one breathe, just one goal – to consume MALUM #2. I have marked my calendar and just wish for some sort of miracle that can make the dates come faster. Geez, you have me wrapped in a hole dammit! Well, you’re never to blame. Congratulations on a wonderful release and fame. You deserve it fully.
Amo has done it again. I’m as twisted as the story my emotions are all out of wack. Just when I think I have it all straight in my head bam heart wrenching curve ball appears. I thought I was ready for Nate and Tillie but now I know I was just kidding myself.
I’m not sure where Amo gets her ideas but I hope she never stops bringing these crazy characters to life. That ending was a killer now I just have to wait for answers to my questions ( hopefully) in part two.
More. Give. Me. More.
IT’S HERE!!!!!!!!! Finally! Ugh, I’ve been dying to know about Nate and Tillie. I fell in love with Nate in the Silver Swan. He’s the kind of guy who puts on a good front but hides his pain behind those gorgeous eyes. Little by little, we get answers in Malum, well sort of. I knew her book was going to be a mind warp and break my heart and I willingly dove right in. Nate is a paradox. He’s sweet and thoughtful yet lethal and determined. No matter how many twist and shocking revelations occurred (AND I SWEAR THERE’S A LOT) Nate was still drawn to her.
Tillie severely underestimated how determined Nate was to learn the truth about certain tidbits. I was both appalled and impressed. I love that he ALWAYS knew when Tillie was lying to him and he shows her that time and time again. (total turn on). So much is going on with Tillie that she is just trying to take it day by day.
As a couple Nate and Tille are explosive. They both loathe and love each other. Nate doesn’t know how to deal with the fact of Tillie being back but his soul needs her. He can be with every woman on the planet and it still wouldn’t be the same as being with Tillie. The person who hurts you is always the person we love the most. Nate and Tillie were like magnets regardless of what went on between the two of them. These two went through some rough moments, moments that made me cry for them. It was raw, steamy, captivating, authentic and extremely emotional. These two are a perfect match, I might even say more than Bishop and Maddie (don’t bite for that) The book was left on a cliffhanger, several in fact. There’s a lot of questions that need answers.
There were certain moments in the book I couldn’t help but think how did Amo come up with this? She thought of everything and I loved being part of this journey with her. Amo Jones, you’ve wrecked me!!! I will never be able to recover from this. There’s not enough, vodka, or rocky road ice cream, hell, therapy. Nor would I want it, truthfully. Prepare for a twisting, dark read that will break your heart. I promise you this book is filled with twist and turns. Amo never ceases to amaze me. I’d love to crawl into her mind one day and know how she comes up with these stories. I can say stories like this the Elite King Series is rare. Rare in the sense that it’s hard to find a story that is dark and alluring but also well written. This book is not the kind of book you read and later on forget. It’s the kind of book that imprints on your soul.
If I could give this book 10 stars I would!! This has been one of the VERY few books I’ve read this year that has blown me away. I wouldn’t change a thing about this book nor this author. My only regret is not have discovered Amo Jones sooner.
FANTABULOUS!!! This series has increased in its intensity with each book. I’m LOVING all of it!
With Nate and Tillie’s story, not only does it show a different side of Nate from what we saw in the previous books, but we get to see just how strong Tillie’s character truly is.
Now that Bishop and Madison have “most” of their issues resolved and The secrets of The Elite King’s in -primarily- no longer secret, Malum continues on with Nate and Tillie. Nate is Bishop’s second in command and has always been the fun-loving King of the bunch. Always light hearted, he was the one to bring Madison comfort…but his affections for Tillie and their situation brings out a much different side to him. In some ways, I considered him darker and more dangerous than Bishop.
Tillie was the sweet girl and part of Madison’s little trio. Living on the other side of town, she was taken aback by all the splendor that surrounded The Kings and their level of opulence. Their world was so different from hers and she was immediately taken in my Nate’s charm. But as soon as she entered their world, she learned her whole life was a lie and now she not only has to fight for her freedom but she was a choice of fighting for her love or her position in this new world.
No matter that this was book four in the series, Nate and Tillie’s story still managed to surprise me. I thought all the secrets were out before but Malum is proof that the secrets of The Elite Kings are layered so thick, there is no getting to every truth they conceal.
It was such an incredible read and this serious is beyond EPIC!!
