Absolutely Fantastic book
Tarina Deaton never disappoints me with her wonderful stories and Make Me Believe is just as riveting and enjoyable as her other ones.
Take one dentist bride jilted twice over add in one hot rising county music star and stir them both together (While trying hard not to smack Rowan upside her head) add in your usual smarmy manager Brett (He will need a cup if Rowen gets near him because well you get my drift, right?) who says he knows what best for Luke .
Rowen is getting ready to marry her boyfriend when Luke decides to interrupt the vows singing her a song and you guessed it-to groom walks away. Eventually Luke will convince her they are a forever couple but when a secret is revealed they both find out who and what broke them up years ago can’t keep them apart.
You’ll love this book even the snarky conversation with Rowan’s friend Rosie and her “Feelings” which are matchmaking moves in disguise, her BFF Claudia is just as important for her knowledge of pizza, Nicholas Sparks movies on Netflix and Pauline ice cream for a broken heart.
Make Me Believe is worth all 5 stars and then some bravo Tarina on a wonderful book.

I adored the second chance romance, Make Me Believe (Jilted; The Bride) by Tarina Deaton. This is the first book I read by this author and I didn’t know what I was getting myself into! I usually don’t like a quick or fast-paced story but since this is a second chance romance where you get to relive their story, it makes sense and all is good in the world of Luke and Rowan.
The beginning of the story starts off with a BANG, and OMG I couldn’t imagine that happening!!! What a way to start off the story. Then, the story is told from past to present. The layout of this story is amazing and helps the flow.
Luke and Rowan have a long history together and they made plans for the future. Until there was no more future for them. Luke’s off to rule the stage and Rowan is left to pick up the pieces and try to make something for herself.
Luke has it all except for the one that got away. He makes it his mission to get back what he lost that sets off a string of crazy events that have Rowan second-guessing herself and her beliefs. But Luke is going to make her believe.
Such a wonderful love story. Lovely writing. Easy to read. Strong characters and the chemistry jumps off the pages.
4.5 Stars of sweet & sassy!
MAKE ME BELIEVE was a very sweet story that I found to be sad at times and had me cheering in others. This is the story of two individuals that get a second chance, even if one of them won’t admit that it is exactly what they want. As a brief background: Rowan and Luke were together when he first started in music and then they split up. Roll up some years, and now there is the chance for them to step back into each others spotlight.
I really liked Luke in this story. He was slightly clueless … will definitely have to admit that and readers will understand as they read the story. But he really went out to make sure that he could get back into Rowan’s good graces. The person that I felt sorry for in the story was Michael … gotta read to understand! But, I had a bit of a hard time liking and empathizing with Rowan in the beginning of the book. But the more I read about her and what she went through, the more I was able to understand and sympathize.
But, overall … I really liked the book. There was some drama, but not much which was very nice! The characters were enjoyable even if it did take some time to get there with them and the storyline was engaging. I would personally read this again and am actually hoping that the author writes about other people in the book that I really liked. So, two thumbs up and happy reading!!
I loved this story so much! I can’t say enough about it. I don’t even know where to start my review. As I was reading this story I laughed, I cried and I yelled at my kindle but at the end of the story my heart was so full of love for this couple.
Luke and Rowan are high school sweethearts. They know they are going for the long haul and they are meant for one another until the day Luke breaks Rowan’s heart and leaves her to follow his dream. With fame and fortune he has it all except for the one thing he craves the most and that is Rowan. SO he sets out to get his girl back and he will do anything to get her back.
Rowan had her heart broken when Luke walked away to follow his dream. She never thought she would see him again until he hunts her down and begs her for another chance. At first she is leery but she decides to give her one true love a chance again and she is glad she did because being with Luke is like being at home.
This is my favorite kind of romance. There’s just something so satisfying about two people who belong together getting a second chance. The conflict arises from external circumstances, creating authentic angst without being overbearing. And the main characters are so realistic and loveable I was quickly drawn into their story and cheering for them every step of the way.
Luke and Rowan were high school sweethearts who thought they would be together forever. Then fame and fortune stepped in and they went their separate ways. Now Luke is back, in an epic way at the most inopportune time, and he wants Rowan back. He knows he made a mistake all those years ago, and he’s not letting her get away again.
This book had some great elements for Luke and Rowan to navigate as they found their way back to each other. The typical trappings of fame, with crazed fans, paparazzi and famous people, and a manager with nefarious intent, all make for challenges that keep the story interesting and moving along. I loved both Luke and Rowan, and their story is the perfect lighthearted, sexy, touching, feel-good read.
