FAMILY RECIPES!
Joanna Gaines’ Cookbook is filled with delicious recipes from her family and her extended family. Think of it as if you were sharing your family’s beloved best loved recipes and this is what you get! I’ve read a ton of reviews that don’t like it because she uses Uncle Ben’s Wild Rice, canned soups, real butter, whole milk and other such ingredients. My husband’s from Louisiana & his favorite Chef (he owns ALL his autographed Cookbooks!) and one of his main ingredients is heavy whipping cream! If you don’t like those ingredients, ADJUST! Most of us are busy & appreciate all the shortcuts we can get. Again, these are their Family Recipes and our Favorite is Baked Chicken with Bacon Bottom and Wild Rice. There are so many more that are on our list to try! Here’s another TIP: If you’re having trouble keeping your Cookbook open, just take a photo of the Recipe with your phone. It serves 2 purposes. 1)When you go to the Grocery, you’ll already have your List of Ingredients with you. 2)You can use your Recipe on your phone or tablet while you cook or print it off.
Love this cookbook. The recipes are all meals that my family will enjoy. So many cookbooks have very few actually recipes I’d use, but Joanna’s book is filled from beginning to end with recipes I’ll actually make and my family will enjoy!
Love this lady she shows us so much in this one book! Biscuits recipes to make with my daughter and grandbabies and then on to the rest of her recipes! Then her next book!
This is a terrific cookbook – realistic recipes, everyday ingredients and obviously filled with love. Can’t wait to start cooking my way through it!
These recipes are all terrific. Great book!
Loved learning their story ups and downs. Such a sweet couple and family.
I’ve had the book for a couple of months and have made a good amount of recipes. Overall the recipes are easy and good. I love JoAnna Gaines and I wanted to love her new cookbook. Overall it reminds me of other celebrities that branch out into cooking with nothing truly original to offer with an overly simplistic approach to cooking.
There are so many recipes that I’m excited to try for our family. I like that there are many from scratch recipes.
Really enjoyed! I appreciate her talent, love for her family and how down to earth she comes across. We need more women setting examples like her!
I love this cookbook for a number of reasons. It is beautifully written with lots of pictures of food and family. The recipes are very uncomplicated and everyone that I tried I had the ingredients for in the house. I am so happy with this cookbook and it is my favorite “go to” cookbook. Everything I have tried has been super good.
Enjoyed reading recipes. Found some new things I want to try and new plant I want to grow.
Great recipes. Can’t wait to try them all.
Loved Joanna’s narrative and her recipes are easy and good!
This cookbook had some great recipes!!
A collection of some of Joanna Gaines favorite recipes compiled along with her thoughts on cooking. I liked how Joanna included sections with items to have on hand in both your pantry and refrigerator along with kitchen tools. Special mention for putting in writing why some eggs are best left out and some should be chilled. All of the recipes are easy to follow and only require common ingredients that are available in any supermarket. Each recipe includes a vignette about the recipe and where it originated. Some of the included recipes also may be prepared ahead of serving or cooking.
Pancakes and Biscuits are a winner for sure
love all the recipes shared and the family pictures are precious.
Print is small. Doesn’t open flat.
I recommend it to those who like Mexican food. Me, not so much. But dessert and other recipes look really good.
Good recipes that are good and easy to make.
