What happens when happily ever after isn’t happy? When everything you thought you knew changes?Obligation… MarriageBetrayal… FreedomUntil him. Until her.Second chances…Until them.Deceit… Doubt. The past may have won the battles, but can Love win the War?
Battles of the heart can be vicious. When the lies and deceit, secrets and betrayal are unleashed we see just how much fate had in store. This wasn’t for the faint at heart and it almost destroyed him. Love is a true healing force and this time this writer has stepped up her game and created a twist that boggles the mind and just snatches your feet out from under you. I have truly enjoyed watching/reading this author as she has figured out her groove and man has it been fun. This time though she shows that she gets it and now we do too. Kudos to an amazing story I am honored to bestow 5 stars to cause yeah it’s that good.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Who knew what was going to happen in this book. I never would’ve guessed how this story ends. Aubrey is unhappy in her marriage. She divorces her husband (Doug). She meets Drew at a night club and again. It seems fate has guided them together. But boy, do the twists and turns happen. You get your HEA and more. It keeps you turning pages faster than you can read!!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m floored with the plot and twists she throws in. Things happen that you have to reread because you can’t believe what is going on. You definitely should go buy this book and then get the other 2 in the series.
I highly recommend this book. It will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between. The characters are well developed and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this series!!!
Love War is emotionally gripping and full of heart. Second chances do exist, and how we get there is just part of the battle. It’s a beautifully crafted story with the right amount of drama, suspense and heat.
You will fall in love with this story from the beginning→one not to miss!
“Sometimes love is a white flag
Sometimes love is standing tall
Sometimes love is a feather
Sometimes a cannon ball
But it’s worth fighting for (it’s worth fighting for)
Baby, sometimes love is war” -American Young
This song kept playing through my head as I read Cary Hart’s book. This is the first book of hers that I’ve read and I liked it very much. I loved Aubrey and Drew. Aubrey is a strong single mother. On a night out with her best friend Niki she meets Drew. They go their separate ways but fate has them met again and this time Drew is determined to not let Aubrey get away. Everything is going amazingly for the two and then their worlds get flipped upside down. Aubrey stands strong through all the pain and craziness and proves to Drew that their love is worth fighting for. It may not be an easy journey but she’s all in and not willing to give up.
This book had so much emotion. I’m having a hard time putting words to how I’m feeling. I absolutely loved this book. It was gripping, I didn’t want to put it down. There was heartache and love and forgiveness throughout this book. Defiantly some very questionable things that certain people did. I loved Drew and Aubrey their chemistry was hot and they definitely deserved to find each other and get the HEA they deserved, they both go through so much throughout this book. This was the first book I’ve read by this author and won’t be the last.
Cary Hart packed so much emotion and angst and tension and heat in this book I don’t even know where to start! I absolutely loved this book! The characters were so well developed and i immediately felt connected to them. The storyline was fast packed and absolutely packed with action and secrets and drama that ripped my heart out before putting it all back together. This is a book I would definitely recommend everyone to read. My first Cary Hart book, but definitely not the last!
Love and War is my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed Aubrey and Drew’s story. I loved how the author brought these two together and that even though their first marriages ended in divorce they didn’t let it affect their relationship. The writing is great, excellent dialog, well developed characters and a great story ling make this a 5-star read. I will definitely be looking for more books by Cary Hart to read in the future.
This is the first book in a new series from this author, and what a great introduction this is! Aubrey is newly divorced, and finding her feet as a single parent, and the dating scene. Drew is about to be a divorcee, and the last thing he want is another relationship. These two are drawn to each other, as they deal with juggling parenthood and a new relationship. This is a well written flawless story, which is emotional, heart-warming, gripping, passionate, entertaining, and with twists and drama, which had me intrigued and captivated throughout, and I cannot wait to read the next novel.
Good story!! This story is a reality check on divorce in current times. Aubrey is a divorced single Mom just trying to have a new beginning. Drew is a single Dad who is waiting for his divorce to be finalized so he can start anew. I had a tough time getting into this story at first but as I continued to read I found myself hoping these two people could find the happiness and love they so deserved. My favorite part was the twist in the story of the ex spouses. Great storytelling right there. This is my first book by this author and I WILL be reading more.
4.5 Cranky Stars
Oh what a tangled web Doug and Sarah weaved. The drug their perspective families through some mess and I wanted to slap them both on several occasions. Who acts like that? These narcissists do.
Aubrey is freshly divorced and a single mom. She is trying to make it without Doug’s help. He tries to control her life even though they aren’t married and he makes her feel bad about how she mothers their beautiful daughter Reece. She wants to recognize her grandmothers wish to open a B&B in her old home and use it for the income to support her and Reece. When she has a free weekend her friend gets her to finally go out and let go. It’s here she meets a handsome stranger that sparks a fire in her. When it’s time to start the remodel of the home she is stunned at who shows up on her doorstep. She feels drawn to him and the only thing standing in her way Doug and his idiot ways.
Drew thought he had the perfect family in a sense until he caught Sarah with her boss. He’s newly single and trying to accept that he’s now a part time dad. He fights with Sarah day in and day out about everything. She’s manipulative and blames everyone else. He meets this beautiful enigmatic woman on a dance floor and gives himself one moment to just live in the moment. When he shows up for work the next day, he is stunned to find Aubrey. He thinks this is his chance to start again but it could all come crashing down thanks to Sarah.
I loved Aubrey and Drew. They just wanted a family and someone to love and support them. Is that so wrong? I would have never guessed the drama this book mounted up to at the end and was like whoa. Sarah I get why she was the way she was but I didn’t like her one bit. I can’t even sympathize with her. Doug you dug a serious hole. Should have been honest!! Andie and Reeses pieces were adorable those little girls just bonded instantly and that sparked a life long friendship. If you are looking for a story with some swoon, drama, douchy ex’s and cute kiddos then Love War is for you.
Not what I was expecting. This was intense from the beginning to the end. Many different parts to this story line I did not see coming. Very interesting story line. Loved the characters. Drew wasn’t my favorite because of what he does. But in the end I realized what the writer was doing with his character. He wasn’t the bad guy after all. It was indeed a very well written book. Enjoyable with some twists and turns you definitely don’t see coming. Can’t wait to read the next one.
Love war is a great name for this book.
This book is about falling in love, Lies, best friends, Getting Hurt, Forgiving, getting a divorce, sisters, family
And this book will tell you how love can be a war between the people that is loved
I love this book and can not wait to read it again and again
Wow! What a hilarious, romantic, captivating and surprising story! This got me in all the feels. Without rehashing the plot, let me just tell any prospective reader that this is not your usual love story, and there are so many elements that ring true that you’ll probably forget you’re reading fiction at times. A really well developed story that presents characters that are flawed but not fatally so, and a plot that is on the right side of reality.
The book immediately had me hooked and I couldn’t put it down.
I couldn’t help falling in love with Aubrey and Drew. There was something so refreshing about reading a love story that involved blended families and ex partners. It’s not something you see a lot of and I really enjoyed it because I could relate to it in my own life. It also had a great little twist towards the end that I was not expecting at all!
Definitely recommend this to anyone who is after a romance story with a difference.
I had a really good time reading this book. It definitely hit home for me as a single parent. I love Aubrey and her strength. She made a decision that she knew was best for her heart even though it would be hard on her daughter. She stuck with her gut and changed her life. This change allowed her to meet Drew who, although a bit presumptuous in the beginning, is a wonderful, sexy man that just can’t get Aubrey off his mind 😉
Both characters have daughters and the kids really steal the show sometimes. It was so enjoyable and right for the setting, while not taking away from the romance or sexiness of the book. I LOVED the kids in this story.
I loved the emotion in this book. Totally nailed down the feelings of separation, divorce, struggling to be a good single parent, finding new love, wading through a relationship that ultimately involves four adults and two kids, and all of the complications that come with dual-parenting. All of the feels!!
I’ll definitely be checking out more of Cary’s books!
As I’m reading I’m loving the characters, I want Drew! I’m thinking what a sweet love story, then I’m completely blindsided by a twist that leads to a wonderful ending! You gotta read this!
Cary Hart…you breathed life back into my broken heart, made me get up in my “feels”, ripped my heart out and did the twist on it, and then shoved it back in my lifeless body and made it explode with love and affection!
So many plot twists, I couldn’t put the book down! Just when you think it’s at a high point, it breaks you down. Then it turns around and gives you strength, and builds you back up that mountain high.
So much love, so much pain, and so real….
Any woman who has children, has had a broken heart, been through a divorce, and questioned love, strength, or trust…Cary Hart, you are amazing, I absolutely love you!!…and Drew, God I love Drew!
Wow, what a great read! I wasn’t sure how I felt about Aubrey right off the bat but I ended up really liking her. She realized she wasn’t happy in her marriage but didn’t just give up. She tried for herself and her daughter but finally realized it just wasn’t working for anybody. I liked Drew right away but he was in an equally difficult situation. Whereas Aubrey didn’t hold anything back Drew did but out of what he believed was for the best. I liked how they confronted their spouses and came out for the better. Very happy with how the story was wrapped up.
This is a very heartbreaking and living story. I enjoyed reading how each character became to know one another. Come to find out it all started at school for all of them. The ending put one heck of a smile on my face knowing True Love always comes first.
Cary is one heck of an author and I’m proud to be one of the lucky one’s who can read her books.
