Love was our weapon; too bad it couldn’t save us.I never pictured myself wandering our abandoned town with my husband, striving for another day, let alone with Him, too. He’s haunted, lost. The moment he walked into our lives, I made a promise to never let him go and now I can’t. I won’t. They say things happen in threes. Sickness, evil, death. We thought we’d beat it all—we thought wrong.
Woah!
I went in blind with this one. I hadn’t even read the blurb and I must say, I wasn’t disappointed.
Brandi has a way of drawing you in from the first page, and hold you there with very vivid pictures and all the feels, right up to the end where she leaves you hanging for more like the evil queen that she is 😉
For such a short story I am amazed at the connections you make. There is heartache, suspense, love and of course, some Very steamy times, but also some hope.
Before you think, “Zombies! No thanks” think again. Brandi doesn’t take it overboard where you are left rolling your eyes or asking yourself if you are reading a scene from Walking Dead. while I am not too big on the zombie’s train, I am surprised at how much I actually loved it.
Let’s keep this short. Go get this ASAP, you won’t regret it!
Book review
Title: Love Row
Author: Brandi Aga
Genre: Dystopian/Romance
Rating: ***
Review: Yet another short romance story from Booksprout but this one is set during the zombie apocalypse which was intriguing. We are introduced to Wyla and Leven; a couple who are witnesses to the zombie apocalypse ripping through their small town, but Leven’s instincts keep them alive but as the winter moves in, they decide to brave a trip back to their old apartment to salvage anything they left behind. There they meet Haze; a man travelling alone after he lost his fiancé and the trio decide to travel to Dallas together and despite Wyla being hesitant she trusts Leven but knowing this is an MFM romance we know Haze is going to be integrated into the romance very soon.
There are some struggles all the characters have to go through, but I found I didn’t really enjoy Love Row. After the main event of the book happens, I felt that there should have been at least some development on the relationship between Wyla and Haze outside of their journey for survival but there wasn’t and one of the only scenes we get that is actually an MFM scene is way too short, coupled with the fact it has no build up or emotionally interaction between the characters, it was quite a let-down. Other than that, it was a decent zombie apocalypse story and if you are looking for something short and punchy then Love Row definitely fits the bill.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it is an awesome read! It’s a very short read so it doesn’t go in to details about how, why people began turning in to zombies. It concentrates on 2 characters initially and then adds a third. There are a lot of emotions in this and a lot of matter of fact, we have to do this sort of attitude! It’s a very nice short story and it was a real pleasure to read. I enjoyed every minute of it, and I shall be looking out for more books by this author as I really enjoyed her writing style!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
