CUPCAKES & KISSES
Cupcake Bakery owner, Shay is down on her luck and hoping to come up with rent for the month. After her backup plan falls through, she goes to her landlord for help. Instead of evicting her, he decides to set up a mutual arrangement. A business after hours networking event. She gets customers for her shop and he gets potential tenants for his commercial properties. There’s … commercial properties. There’s only one downside. He’s become addicted to both Shay’s cupcakes and her company. Leaving him wanting more each time he’s around her. Shay has met her match in Stephen. He’s a man who knows what he wants and that includes Shay’s cupcakes and her kisses. Can he convince her to take a chance on love and business?
THE ART OF LOVE
Miesha owns the candle shop next door to Shay’s bakery and is grateful for the networking event that has been drumming up more business. Remi drops in one night after an event and is not only taken by Meisha, but her delectable candles. To take her interest to the next level Remi begins ordering candles like crazy just to have Miesha deliver them to her Art Gallery. Each time they encounter one another the chemistry is explosive. Remi is determined to show Miesha just how amazing it is when the art of love takes shape in their lives.
ONE MISSED CALL
Trinity is a beautiful plus size restaurant owner, with a crush on one of her daily customers Zion. She bumps into Zion at one of Shay’s networking events and sparks fly. He’s smart, charming, funny, and drop-dead gorgeous. The usually confident Trinity becomes awkward and shy. After too many cocktails and one night of pure pleasure, Trinity finds herself in unfamiliar territory. She wants Zion for more than just sex, but she’s afraid their first official meeting might have given him the wrong impression. How can Trinity turn one night into a lifetime?

I have to say that this is the first time I’ve ever read anything from this author, and I truly enjoyed reading this book.

This is a nice collection of three romantic novellas. The first one, CUPCAKES & KISSES, sets the framework for the other two very well as the networking event seems the perfect springboard for what happens in the next two stories, THE ART OF LOVE and ONE MISSED CALL.
Cupcake Bakery owner Shay tried to help out her ex by co-signing on his loan which he then defaults on. This makes it difficult on her to pay her rent and she needs to work something out with her landlord. Fortunately, he sees an opportunity for both of them in a “business after hours networking event”. It gives her customers for her shop and enables him to interest potential tenants in his commercial properties.
A side effect of their arrangement, however, is that her landlord is now addicted to Shay’s cupcakes – and to her! Can he convince her now to take a chance on love?
These are really cute stories with likable characters and a good story line. Grab your copy and enjoy a little romance and fun!
Chez owns a establishment called cupcakes and champagne. Pairing of wine and champagne with specific cupcakes that are created for the persons desserts and pleasure palette palette. Problem is she has a little snafu with her finances. So she goes to the landlord who owns the building. There she needs Steven Taylor. He basically is instantly attracted to her when she walked into the office. She comes in with a business plan in order to assist in her financial snafu that will leave her late for her rent. Due to a networking idea that he wanted to execute she is there and willing to assist in making this happen. He also wants to create a relationship with her but feels that he needs to wait. He doesn’t want to mix business with pleasure until business is taken care of. These two characters are not in sync. Shay is not willing to be in sync because she is not sure if this is the right thing. Stephen is willing to want her as his forever. That is the problem. That’s where things get complicated. No cliffhanger just said of course there has to be an ex who shows up to throw a wrench in the equation

I really enjoyed this book. It had a strong build up with satisfying and heartfelt interactions between the characters. Complete with a little drama, tasteful humor, sweet (and clean) romance.
Everything about Love After Hours was beautifully complex and rich with originality.
Highly recommended to lovers of African-American romance.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and “Love After Hours” is a great short story. Looking forward to reading more Abiegail Rose’s books.
Shay owns Champagne Cupcakery where she comes up with delicious cupcakes that she pairs with wines that makes for her business one of the best.
Shay is in a financial pickle after being overdrawn in her business checking account. She cosigned for ex Bryan to get a loan even though her best friend Megan advised her against it. Now her ex Bryan is 6 months behind on the loan and Shays funds are gone and now Bryan’s loan is paid off. She is unable to pay her next month’s rent and she decides to go make a in person plea to her landlord.
Shay has always been on time with her rent so she is hoping that her landlord Stephen Taylor who is the owner of Taylor Investment Properties will take her on time payments into consideration and grant her some leeway. Stephen usually isn’t available to his tenants but he decides to talk to Shay.
In walks Shay into Stephens office and Stephen is mesmerized by Shay’s beauty and after hearing about her dilemma he comes up with a business plan that will be beneficial for both he and Shay. Shay finds herself very attracted to Stephen and the feelings are mutual. Will the beneficial plan that Stephen came up with be a plan with benefits or will it just be business?
Shays friend Megan is great and hopefully her story is up next.
In the synopsis there is a mention of 3 novellas. Not sure if there was suppose to be 3 novellas or just this one. There’s a mention of Miesha who owns the candle shop next door to Shay and Trinity beautiful plus size restaurant owner. Will Miesha and Trinity get short novellas?
When Shalonda finds herself in a financial bind, she goes to the office of Taylor Investment Properties to speak to the man himself. What she didn’t expect was her reaction to him. Stephen on the other hand was having his own problems of keeping himself from touching Shalonda. After finally explaining her visit, Stephen comes up with a plan to help both of them. Their time together brings out feelings that they are both experiencing but Shalonda has just come out of one bad situation and not looking for anything serious. Will this put a damper on Stephens plans for him and Shalonda?
