When her four year old daughter informs her a sick man is in their yard, Honor Gillette rushes out to help him. But that “sick” man turns out to be Lee Coburn, the man accused of murdering seven people the night before. Dangerous, desperate, and armed, he promises Honor that she and her daughter won’t be hurt as long as she does everything he asks. She has no choice but to accept him at his word. word.
But Honor soon discovers that even those close to her can’t be trusted. Coburn claims that her beloved late husband possessed something extremely valuable that places Honor and her daughter in grave danger. Coburn is there to retrieve it — at any cost. From FBI offices in Washington, D.C., to a rundown shrimp boat in coastal Louisiana, Coburn and Honor run for their lives from the very people sworn to protect them, and unravel a web of corruption and depravity that threatens not only them, but the fabric of our societymore
An absolute favourite by Sandra Brown! Thrills and sexy suspense from cover to cover; it’s one of very few books I’ve read that actually made my jaw drop at a particular scene. Lee Coburn is one of my favourite heroes. Lethal is one of Brown’s finest novels!
Lethal was a goodbook. It did not disappointed in the tangled web of twists and turns. On the edge of your seat as the story unfolds and all the players are exposed. But the ending was a disappointment, the story felt unfinished.
A friend and I both read this while on a cruise. It’s a great story. Had me in the first chapter. It was fun to read and chat about the story with my friend while on vacation.
This is the story of Honor and her daughter, Emily. Honor’s husband, Eddie, was killed in the line of duty as a police officer. One day, Emily comes into the house and tells Honor that there’s a man in the yard taking a nap. Honor goes out to check on him and he takes her and Emily hostage in their own home. Coburn is looking for something …
Did not relate to ending
I’m always happy to find a Sandra Brown novel that I haven’t yet read, and this was no exception. It’s classic Brown with complex characters and plot twists galore. A young widow with a four-year-old daughter to protect is drawn into danger and corruption. The only way our desperate hero, an accused murderer, can save them and survive himself is …
Good, But I Probably Wouldn’t Read Again
This romantic suspense story was interesting enough. However, it concludes with loose ends and not what I would call a HEA for the romantic aspect. There wasn’t quite enough closure. I suspect it might come in a future release.
Lethal has been my favorite Sandra Brown so far. She had me at the 4 year old daughter. High tension drives this story of a young mother whose husband had too many secrets, a woman who will do anything to protect her child. Enter “the sick man in the yard” and you are off and running, straight into a twisting tale of romance and suspense set …
Great story that left me hanging by a thread
Always enjoy Sandra Browns books.
Loved this book! Love this genre from Sandra Brown. Would definitely recommend
Sandra Brown delivers again.
One of her best books, original story with a twist. Never knew who was the good guys or the bad guys. Page turner that I could not put down and the ending almost got me!
Good read
This was not the best book Sandra Brown has written. One rather knows from the beginning how things will go. However, it was an okay read, but didn’t keep me up to finish the story.
Great Book. I had a hard time stopping it…. I was using the audiobook in my car….. really a fast trip!
