It all started with a sexy selfie.Texted to the wrong number. Oops. Not my finest moment—but I have nothing to be ashamed of.She thought I was no better, and I quote, than the knuckle-dragging douche-bags she was never dating again. It was a stupid dare from a girl I’d met online, but since she’d given me a fake number, I didn’t feel bad that my interests were suddenly focused elsewhere—on the … that my interests were suddenly focused elsewhere—on the fiery and sharp-tongued, Peyton that I found myself sparring with over text for the rest of the evening.
The following day, my case of mistaken identity came back to bite me in the banana.
When I strolled into the office, I was introduced to Peyton as the new client I needed to win over. The Peyton , in case you’re not tracking.
And let’s just say she had my full attention.
Brains? Check.
Beauty? Oh yeah.
And the best part? She hated me on sight.
Dear God, do I love a challenge.
Let the games begin.

Junk Mail was a charming feel good read. From the very start Josh and Peyton had me laughing out loud and they kept me quite entertained the whole book through. Josh was cocky with just the perfect amount of charm. I enjoyed Peyton’s sassiness and her determination. The chemistry between them was instantaneous, undeniable and made for some very steamy moments. Gram may have been a secondary character but she was such a hoot. I loved how quirky and lively she was. Delightfully mischievous with a touch of playfulness Junk Mail put a smile on my face and was a great afternoon read.
I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.
This story was pretty awesome though I was told Peyton has a hate on for Josh and I never saw that at all. This is a phrase from the book description:
And the best part? She hated me on sight.
I didn’t see that at all. I kept wondering if it would happen but it never did. This story was fun and pretty awesome and very flirty but there was no enemies or hate at all between the two main characters.
Josh is the owner of a company that owns some coffeehouses with his partner. He is lonely and has been meeting women on the internet. One such gives him her number so they can start texting. BUT he ends up sexting Peyton. It was so cute that sexting part. He is VERY bad at it and it was so cute.
The next day he meets a new business associate Peyton and well I am not spoiling how much fun that scene was for both of them. This is a really fun and flirty and HOT story and I truly loved every second of it. It is very much a finding love in the workplace romance as Peyton and Josh end up as partners of sorts.
Sometimes…when things go wrong, the result can turn out oh so right!
I loved this story! And despite his questionable judgement in the beginning, I absolutely loved Josh! He’s sexy and awkward, which doesn’t sound like it would be a good combination, but it definitely is. You’re drawn to him. He’s fun and flirty, very intelligent, and a little bit dirty. He’s irresistible.
Peyton has sacrificed her social life for her career and has no plans to change that any time soon. She’s driven and creative, but always makes time for the people who are important to her. She might be a workaholic, but she’s still fun, sweet, and incredibly caring.
This book was fun to read. It was low drama and low angst, but high on fun and heart. It’s one of those ‘feel good’ reads that you can’t pass up. They supporting characters were great too. It was another great read from this author.
This was super cute, and I really enjoyed it. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
When I read the summary for this one, I was beyond exciting. It sounded amazing, and thankfully it lived up to my expectations. However, I would say the plot didn’t exactly follow what I expected based on the summary. I really liked both Peyton and Josh, but I have to admit that Gram is probably my favorite character. She was just so funny, entertaining, and her meddling made me smile. I also really liked Claire and her kids.
This book definitely had steam, but based on their professional relationship, it didn’t have as much as another book might have. Being coworkers and dealing with budding feelings would be tricky for anyone to navigate! But back to Peyton and Josh. I think I would be friends with Peyton in real life; she seemed like a great person. And Josh…he was so sweet, handsome, thoughtful, etc. I swooned hardcore over him for the entire book. He’s going on my book boyfriend list.
I loved learning a little about each of their businesses, but I kind of wanted even more on that. Details were mentioned, but then it was like they almost didn’t have jobs for most of the book. And for someone being Josh’s best friend (and business partner), Brody sucked. Sorry, not sorry. I finished this in two nights as Kendall’s books are always quick, enjoyable reads.
A new Kendall Ryan book? Yes, please! I read late into the night when I received my copy, but I had to see why this book was called Junk Mail. You see, it started with a text to a wrong number. You’d think eh, it won’t matter because what are the chances that you’ll ever meet? You thought wrong! It DID happen. Toss in a meddling grandmother and you get a funny, laugh out loud read that you’ll willingly sleep late for. While the story follows the formula for HEAs, getting there in the way only Kendall Ryan makes it worth a few hours less sleep.
I absolutely loved this new release from Kennedy Ryan. Once I started Junk Mail I couldn’t put it down. It was completely addictive with its wit and humour, I was thoroughly entertained the whole way through.
Sending a naked picture to the wrong person would be your worse nightmare, to end up working with them would make your humiliation worse.
The chemistry between Peyton and Josh is off the charts with the palpable tension between them. The build up to their relationship was hot to watch play out. Watching Josh try to remain professional was amusing to watch, poor guy.
Another great read from Kendall Ryan
Every time I pick up a book by Kendall Ryan, I know I am in for a great read and I am never disappointed! In Junk Mail we meet Josh and Peyton and let me tell you, the way they “meet” was everything! You see, Josh thought he was sending a sexy pic of himself to someone who asked for it, but he ends us sending to someone else, wrong number and all. But instead of being embarrassed, they both own it and have some great back and forth banter.
Imagine their surprise when the next day in a very important meeting for both of them, they discover who the other is. Talk about awkward. They now need to be professional, but how to you ignore some incredible chemistry? And these two had steamy chemistry! I loved both Josh and Peyton. They were both great characters. Junk Mail by Kendall Ryan was such a fun and adorable read and one I highly recommend!
Happy reading!
Kendall Ryan delivers another feel good read that immediately grabs you with the humor and hilariousness that is her characters inner monologues. From the moment I started this read I was a big fan of Peyton & Josh. Individually they were easy to love and to take the ride to their HEA was what makes contemporary romance reads the best!
Filled with low angst and high chemistry and fun this was for sure one I’m glad to have in the library for a reread!

Kendall Ryan is a go to author for me, and it’s books like Junk Mail that keep her in that status for me. This book made me laugh, it made me shake my head. I enjoyed the journey of these characters and the book flew by for me.
I genuinely liked Josh and Peyton. Their first meeting made me snort-it’s not one I can relate to at this point but it was so well written that it was perfectly plausible. I liked watching them navigate around each other for their initial face to face meeting as well. It just clicked.
The chemistry was absolutely there. Nothing felt forced or out of place. I enjoyed their time together, both in and out of the bedroom. I rooted for them and felt their story was believable.
The supporting cast of characters? I just adored. Gram almost stole the show for me a couple times, but I just loved her. The writing flowed well and the plot moved at just the right pace.
I really enjoyed this read. It left me with a smile on my face and I definitely recommend it.
I love when the attraction between two people is established by something other than their looks, and while Peyton Richards may have been drawn to Josh Hanson due to a sexy selfie gone wrong and a fake phone number, the quick witted text exchange that they share creates a connection unlike one either has experienced and one that just might be worth the risk…that is until they find out that their soon-to-be professional relationship makes anything personal between them not exactly forbidden but quite ill-advised.
Thus begins a partnership full of complications due to a bevy of sexual tension, a more than apparent electric connection, and a professional line that both Peyton and Josh can’t help but want to cross, even if it’s less than ideal given their professional commitments.
Who would have thought that a sexy selfie gone wrong and a fake phone number would lead Josh Hanson and Peyton Richards down a complicated path – one full of sexual tension, an electric connection, and a professional partnership that just turned their personal lives upside down.
It’s interesting to watch Josh and Peyton figure out what they want and what they’re willing to risk in order to take their shot at love. I’m glad that Kendall Ryan allows readers to be privy to both the hero and the heroine’s internal musings because it offers a full picture of what’s at stake, both personally and professionally, for them and for those who rely on them. Both of them have good heads on their shoulders and understand what it means to sacrifice for their career, but they also deserve a personal life and the fact that they are drawn to each other so intensely provides them with enough desire to perhaps find a way to make both parts of their lives flow seamlessly together in a way that benefits them in all ways possible.
Kendall Ryan, once again, weaves a bit of drama, a large dose of humor, and quite a bit of steam together to create an enjoyable romantic comedy – one that includes a group of dynamic supporting characters, especially a certain meddling grandma who is as endearing as she is frustrating, at least from her granddaughter’s perspective. The way Josh and Peyton first meet and their attempts to remain professional illustrate why it was always going to be more than business between them and the way Ryan crafts the story in that direction will have readers laughing and swooning a number of times through Junk Mail.
4 Poison Apples
A feel-good, forbidden romance filled with laughs, charm, and an overabundance of steam! Kendall Ryan gives readers another exemplary story with it’s originality and fresh and hilarious outlook on sexting gone wrong….or very, very right in this book. *wink*
Josh and Peyton were adorable! Their insta-chemistry was perfect for the story line, given how complicated it makes their professional partnership. Their flirty interactions and sizzling attraction provide the plot its intrigue and fascination, allowing the reader to feel engaged with the forbidden quality and outcome of their relationship. But as fun and light-hearted as the overall tone of the story is, misunderstandings and miscommunication reveal that even the most effortless romances aren’t without its own complications.
Junk Mail is sexy! It’s lively and comedic dialogue pairs perfectly with the witty and entertaining story line that makes this book a for-sure must read!
Just a note: the blurb for the book made it sound like an enemies-to-lovers romance, when in truth, it isn’t. Peyton doesn’t hate Josh for sending the dick pic, nor do the two of them engage in some weird debate via text message that same night. Peyton also doesn’t look at Josh with hatred or disgust when they first meet. There’s also a quote mentioned in the blurb, but that isn’t even thought by Peyton till nearly three quarters of the way into the book. All those blurb-y things aside, though, I quite enjoyed this book! I seriously liked Peyton, who was every bit a woman who had ambition and fortitude but still loved her grandmother–who was a hoot!–best. I liked Josh as well, save for one particular bone-headed decision he made. For the most part, this book had me smiling with the banter between Josh and Peyton. Any issues their relationship faced was really due to a whole lot of lack of communication, but there aren’t any major angsty moments nor was there any unnecessary drama plaguing these two main characters or their romance. Junk Mail was an ideal romance to kick back with, and it receives 4.5 stars.
Junk Mail has got to be my favorite Kendall Ryan book! Full of fun, flirty and witty comments and a sexual chemistry that damn near set my Kindle on fire, Peyton and Josh’s story was simply amazing. The story line was intriguing, the characters were sexy & fun, the secondary characters (Gram) were so fun to read, I felt that I was right there in the story with them! From the accidental junk mail to the happily ever after, this story had everything!
When Josh sends a provocative picture to a number, he thinks it’s the girl he’s been chatting with on a dating app. When the reply is who’s this he realizes he has been duped. To make matters worse the girl he sent it to is involved with his company.
Super sexy fun read. Peyton is a great heroine. Her feisty grandma adds some fun. I liked how driven she is. Josh is the perfect blend of hot and sweet. The book is a fun and flirty romance. Really enjoyable and well written.
Junk Mail is Kendall Ryan’s next fun and sexy romance. I just know I will be in for a treat when I open one of her books and this one was insanely delicious.
Josh is having a dry spell and so he does something he normally wouldn’t do. Peyton wasn’t the one who was supposed to be receiving the pic but she damn impressed by it. Great angle. Good lighting. But it wasn’t asked for and she let him know it. He was pretty embarrassed about the situation. No big deal, right? It’s not like she would recognize him. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. He just so happens to be the man who could help her dreams come true.
Peyton needs this deal. Josh needs this deal. Partners in business. After what happened can they move on like nothing happened? The each feel a spark but need to keep it professional. And even if Peyton is in a eighteen month dry spell and is attracted to Josh, her business is more important. Josh absolutely isn’t looking for commitment if he is sending out those kind of pics to strangers. But, fuck if she wants to find out if the pic even gave him justice.
These two are so screwed.
I loved, loved, loved this one! I thought it was hilarious. The characters are so much fun. The inner dialogues are the best. I was cracking up throughout the whole thing. It also brings the heat. The sweetness. And Peyton is a packaged deal. Her Gram is her best friend and roommate. I loved her to pieces!
Overall…it’s a fantastic read with lots of flirt, laughs, innuendos, sweetness, and sexiness. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Quotes:
Confronted by that . . . thing staring back at me, I have so many questions. Namely, how does he haul it around all day? Isn’t it uncomfortable? Loads of other inappropriate questions like Do you only date sword-swallowers? flit through my brain.
“Please stop being so good at this,” I say in a half whisper, half whine.
Don’t look at her ass, dude. Don’t look at her ass.
Shit. I looked at her ass.
I flipping loved Josh and Peyton. Their chemistry was off the charts, and their first interactions were beyond entertaining. There was the perfect amount of drama in this story, thanks to a certain best friend (who I would LOVE a story on eventually). This was a well written story, that will have you falling in love with not just Josh and Peyton, but also the secondary characters in this book. I would definitely recommend this read!!
This was such a sweet, swoony read! I really enjoyed Peyton and Josh’s story. I was laughing at the way in which they “met.” I enjoyed the immediate chemistry (and embarrassment) these two had. They had chemistry in spades but they were working together. We all know how that goes, amirite?! They shouldn’t, but yet that chemistry is undeniable. They just clicked and I loved how Josh was also willing to help Peyton’s Gram in a time of need. She was a spitfire and Josh wasn’t afraid of her. She was a hoot and I loved the excitement she brought to Peyton’s life. I thought their relationship was sweet and was definitely unique. If you love a fast-paced, swoony, ALL-THE-FEELS read, then be sure to grab your copy today!
Junk Mail has to be some of Kendall Ryan’s best work yet! Not to mention that cover… who can walk by that gorgeous thing and not want to pick it… read the blurb or the first chapter? You’d have to have mystical powers to walk by that beauty without feeling interest, without a spark. I think I’ve said this for Miss Ryan’s last few books but Junk Mail is hilarious. There’s so much awkward, inappropriateness that I snorted… yes, I snorted with laughter. Kendall Ryan has a vicious and surprising humor. She sneaks up on you and causes barks of laughter.
So, I think you get from the paragraph above that I was delighted with Peyton and Josh’s story. The Grams in this story is just what we all want in an overly-nosy busy body that is wildly improper but insanely entertaining. I was seriously enamored with the storyline and can see the plausibility in the storyline. Which is really what made the story seem so light and fun to begin with. Plus with these two fighting the attraction so hard and all the fun back-and-forth banter… it was totally engrossing. Plus I finished it in one evening.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
While the idea of meeting via wrong number texting isn’t a new trope/concept – I thought this one was a funny way of attacking that awkwardness. I really enjoyed Josh and Peyton’s story – and their connection was so obvious, even from the very first awkward meeting. Their chemistry was very palpable and very authentic. I also had a few good laughs as well. This was a very enjoyable story.
This was my first book by Kendall Ryan, and I really enjoyed her dialogue driven writing style. I will definitely be reading more by her in the future.
This book was funny from the get-go, it made me laugh frequently throughout, amidst all the steamy scenes. This was a trademark Kendall Ryan romcom, blending the right amount of steamy goodness.
Josh is like the perfect book boyfriend, very well-endowed, kind, considerate and obviously, good-looking. I’d say his hookup with Peyton wasn’t exactly forbidden in a taboo sense, more of a frowned upon type because of their professional relationship. As they hilariously navigated through their professional endeavours, I didn’t get the sense that there was much angst in this story. The feel-good factor is high.
Peyton’s grandma provided further comic relief with her well-meant, straight from the heart behaviour. Kendall Ryan cleverly infused family into a sexy romcom and it worked.
