The NFL’s hottest quarterback sets his sights on me, he’s the one guy I can’t have. Hudson Baldwin is a player—in every sense of the term. The god of the gridiron has no lack of women throwing themselves at him.Football players have always been on my no-go list.Just because I have to cheer for him doesn’t mean I want anything to do with his advances.Yet, here he is…telling me he wants me.He … here he is…telling me he wants me.
He wants us.
I’m not here to score with the NFL star player.
But the more time I spend with the king of the turf, the more hits my defenses take.
Can the connection between us be real?
Or is believing love can exist in this brutal sport nothing more than a Hail Mary?

Intercpted Hearts is a short and sweet read. It gets right to the point, has lots of passion and is entertaining.
In a short moment main characters Hudson and Natalie made me laugh and at the end I wished this was a full length novel so I get more.
Intercepted Hearts
Mika Jolie
This is a sports and an instant attraction book. Hudson is the start QB of the NY Kings. Natalie is a substitute cheerleader for the two weeks leading up to the super bowl. Natalie has said she will not date a football player because of her dad. Her sister is all about Hudson. Natalie’s first day of cheer practice, she locks eyes with Hudson, and falls. He jogs over and gives her a hand to help her up, and that is the start of it all. You could feel/see the chemistry between the two of them from the start. Neither was looking for anything, Hudson knew he needed no distractions leading up to the Super Bowl. Natalie has no time for relationships or football players. But fate or the stars have other plans. This is a really quick read, but it kept my attention. Hudson is like the perfect boyfriend – handsome, smart, great personality, kind. I mean I was swooning over him too. I didn’t want the book to end, I wanted to keep reading about them, so that is a sign of a good book to me. Looking forward to reading the next book about Hudson’s twin brother, RIver. This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites. If you like sports romance and are ok with love at first sight, then this is definitely one you should read.
This book was sooooooo good !! It absolutely did not disappoint and literally put me through all of the emotions!! Such a great read and awesome story !!
Dating each other goes against both of their ideals, but as soon as Hudson and Natalie meet, bells go off. Its insta-lust even though any relationship between the two is practically forbidden. One is riding the highs of football, while one is experiencing the lows of what the sports can bring. This is definitely a fast-burn relationship, but there are road blocks, even in a short time period. If you like sweet and sexy on a fast pace, this is for you.
This was a quick read that I wished would have been longer but it was a good book! Hudson is the star quarterback and has football in his veins. He comes from a family who loves and plays the game. He is young and gorgeous and has all the women interested. Natalie comes from a different world. She has a loving father but he’s taken a turn for the worst. All her attention is on him and making things happen in life. When the opportunity comes, she jumps at it. It does require football players and she vowed never to date one. Hudson is different though and makes her see that. These two are adorable together and have a fantastic story! Onto the next book with Hudson’s brother!
Short and steamy , this novella packs a lot into a quick read. NFL quarterback meets the football hating cheerleader and sparks fly. A quick, fun read.
This was a nice start to the series. It was a quick and easy read.
This is book 1 in the Playing for Keeps series by Mika Jolie. This is a fast read. I couldn’t believe i finished it so fast. Natalie just got a break. She was offered a temporary position as a cheerleader on an NFL team. Her one rule: No dating the players. She has to much on her plate to be dealing with them. Then Hudson sees her and all bets are off. Loved reading this story.
Hudson is a well known football player. They are calling him the “King” of New York. So why would he want to be with River? Why not? She is one hot new cheerleader and even though he should stay away – the attraction is overwhelming.
River has no plans to ever date a football player. When she meets Hudson in person it is like lightning strikes. She is unable to think, much less move. Being with a celebrity was never what she wanted, can they find a way to have a future?
This book turned up the heat! The story moves along quickly, and the characters make it fun. I loved the chase, and how the MC’s felt stunned into wanting each other. I could not believe how quickly I was hooked.
I absolutely loved Hudson Baldwin.
He’s an NFL quarterback and his team is going to the super bowl.
Natalie is filling in for a cheerleader who was injured. She will practice with the team’s cheerleaders for a couple of weeks until the big game.
Relationships between cheerleaders and the football players are a big NO-NO.
During one practice, they make eye contact. Oh em gee. I swear I could FEEL IT. This is one of those instant attractions. The sparks flew and sizzled clear across the field.
Nat’s father is a former QB. She’s convinced his history of being knocked around during games is the reason for his memory loss and declining health.
So a relationship with a football player is out of the question. She’s not going to set herself up for that pain and heartbreak she thinks is inevitable. So she cannot date Hudson.
No matter what.
Not gonna do it.
No way, no how.
Nope.
But have you met Hudson Baldwin?!
After reading and getting to know him, you will understand how and why she couldn’t stay away from him.
So kind, so sexy, so giving, so respectful, so selfless, so…perfect. I lost count of the number of times I swooned. It was A LOT.
This was a novella, but to me it felt like more. It gave me everything I wanted and needed.
This was my first read by this author and I can’t wait to read more!
3.5 Stars
Good read. I liked the main characters and the storyline. I felt some things could have been drawn out a bit more to add to the story but overall a good book and kept my interest throughout.
Really, really enjoyed this story. Even made me like watching the SuperBowl! Superb character development, touching plot, realistic issues, and a fast-paced, easy reading style of writing made this an awesome book. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to read River’s story.
I absolutely loved reading every single minute of this book. This book had my emotions on a roller coaster but it was very well written. This author has definitely left me wanting much more. A great book and highly recommended.
I really enjoyed Natalie and Hudson’s story. I love a good sports romance…where the QB is player but stumbles upon ‘the one’ that will cause him to change his ways….you know what I’m talking about…but this book is more than that! This is a book where all my emotions came into play. There was drama…but it went along with the story. This was a quick and easy read that made me want more from the series!!
This was such a sweet book! It had me captivated from the very first page! Ms. Jolie definitely knows how to write and amazing book!
A cheerleader with not a lot to cheer about off the field and the current golden boy of the NFL lock eyes across the practice field and a spark ignites. Try and she might to fight it Natalie can’t resist the hunky Hudson even when his career is one she swore never to get mixed up in. A sweet romance with some fun secondary characters.
Oh my this book is hot and amazing… I love Hudson and Natalie so much ..they have this pure and hot chemistry from the first meeting. But with Natalie experiences with her dad she said will not fall for a football players . Hudson turn his charm till she accept one date will he be able to get more out of her ? This is a must read book and hurry to get this you won’t regret. This was my first of author but wont be my last
Great novella! This is a quick story about Hudson and Natalie that’s relevant in these times. It was a quick story, but nothing was lacking. Great well-developed characters that left you satisfied at the end. I love a great sports romance, and this one hit all the high notes.
Natalie Harris has just earned a temporary spot as a cheerleader while another girl recovers from injury. She is focused on doing the job and doing what she can to help support her dad and her sister. Her only real rule is to stay as far away from football players as she can but a certain player is making it extremely difficult.
Hudson Baldwin is a NFL quarterback who has never been turned down before but when he meets Natalie he is intrigued by the cheerleader who won’t give him the time of day.
Can Natalie get over her rule of no football players once she gets to know him or will her rule stick when she realizes how much she can’t lose another person she loves.
This was a great book filled with wonderful touching moments, some heartbreak and the question of whether love is strong enough to make you take chances.
I thought Natalie was such an awesome character who gave up so much for her dad and sister. The cheerleading job was so important to her for her future career aspirations and for the extra money it would bring in for her family and she didn’t want to jeopardize it. I completely sympathized with her and I knew why it was so important to her.
Hudson made me laugh with his shock of being turned down and then his persistence in not giving up on trying to convince Natalie to go on a date with him. I liked his fun going attitude but he had a more serious side and soon understood why Natalie was so hesitant.
There were so many moments that broke my heart about what Natalie was going through or what her family had gone through. The sad part is with Natalie’s dad is that we are seeing so much of this in society today and it is heartbreaking and it has affected people I know.
Natalie was someone that I related to as your focus has been on those you have to care for and you put yourself second. You may miss opportunities but it takes someone very special to realize what you need and help you through the difficult times.
The end was definitely scary but it made Natalie realize what she wanted in her life. The very end was awesome and I loved the foundation that Hudson created!
Short, fun and spicy read! Hudson and Natalie have an immediate connect, that Natalie doesn’t want to have. She’s afraid of what could happen. Hudson doesn’t give up. He’s determined to have her and prove they are worth it, that is is worth it.
