A bold and persuasive polemic on the corporatization of healthcare by a pediatrician and pioneering advocate for integrative medicine. In Incurable Me, a maverick physician brings transparency to some of medicine’s most closely guarded secrets. As he establishes a link between commerce and medical research, K. P. Stoller also explains how to treat some of the most worrisome diseases and … worrisome diseases and conditions afflicting humans today–including Lyme disease, brain trauma, dementia, and autism.
Dr. Stoller maintains that the best evidence in medical research is not incorporated into clinical practice unless the medical cartel has the potential to make large amounts of money promoting it. Stoller takes his provocative argument a step further, maintaining that if specific research conflicts with a powerful entity’s financial interests, the likely result will be an effort to suppress or distort the results. Stoller cites numerous examples, including corporate influence on GMO labeling and public health.
Stoller also explores how “revolving-door-employment” between the Centers for Disease Control and large pharmaceutical companies can affect research results–and ultimately our health. Written in straightforward, accessible language, Incurable Me is a must-read for anyone interested in the state of modern medicine.

Interesting diatribe on health care in the US and quite an indictment of Big Pharma. Some parts of the book were written in a way that makes the author sound like a paranoid nutcase, which does not help his cause, but he’s on the right path. However, he lost me when I looked up one of his cites, a TED Talk by Bill Gates, and it was my determination that he took a comment out of context and misconstrued the purpose and intent of the talk. But there is enough real data cited to bear discussion among and with the medical community.
Read and file away as a valuable reference book!
Thought-provoking
Not what I expected. I was looking for a novel, not medical reporting
Very poorly written. I couldn’t even finish this book! Rambling, often unconnected ideas that didn’t relate to topic or title of chapter. I wanted to be able to read this but just couldn’t.
I love reading books about medicine and doctors and this book is no exception. The real side of medicine and doctors’ thoughts and feelings are conveyed. Definitely worth reading.
I’ve read a lot of what he has to say in other places, so reading it here was a confirmation of sorts. I didn’t agree with everything he said but, it was very interesting anyway.
Every layman should read this book. As a medical transcriptionist for 25+ years, much of it was a surprise to me. People need to examine what’s going on in the medical industry (especially drug companies) as we are being taken to the cleaners by these companies, all in the name of greed.
This was about the medical world of the USA. Sadly we lack full authority over our very own health. The FDA, the pharmaceutical companies, the mega million dollar CEO’s of the drug industry don’t want real cures. They just want to continue to “treat” ailments, not cure them. It would put them out of business and the mega bucks to the CEO’s would dwindle. This is a book for every book case.
Good information on the corruption of the CDC and pharmaceutical companies and how it ultimately impacts our health.
This is a book I wish everyone would read for the knowledge it conveys. Author shares information that is frightening, and yet true. It provides content we really do not want to believe, but we must. It exposes our medical establishment for what is, and for what it hides and denies. He exposed concepts I was unaware of, and challenged my thinking. Anyone thinking of having a child ought read what the author has to say.
Must read for anyone valuing truth in health and avoiding deceptions by big pharma. Natural cures are often more effective, safer and less costly but don’t make profits so the public is being mislead. Of interest to every parent.
not sure what to think… the author seemed to know what he was talking about yet the presentation was sometimes not so clear and his frequent “they’re all crooks” conclusion seemed at times unsupported …
I think it is well worth reading & should lead to some serious consideration. If everything that he says is true, we’re in some deep trouble.
Eye-opening!
Full of good info!
