She was everything that I wanted.
He was everything that I despised.
Until she wasn’t.
Until he wasn’t.
Killian Cornelii was a walking calamity. He reached inside of me and touched every single inch of my ruined soul, but he didn’t just touch it. He caressed, petted, and captivated it. He tailored me to fit into the palm of his hands. The same hands that possess so much cruelty, were the very … cruelty, were the very same that comforted me.
I thought I knew him.
He thought he knew me.
This isn’t a fairy tale, or some achingly beautiful story about two soul mates who instantly fall irrevocably in love with each other.
This is a story about a love so painful, so rich, that it destroys everything and everyone around it.
Including ourselves.
Midnight Mayhem is the platform to which Killian performs his tricks on, but the greatest trick wouldn’t come from him.
It would come from me.
Tricksters don’t have hearts.
They just pretend that they do.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

“Your eyes tell the explicit story that your soul tries to hide.”
Twisted, amazing, brilliant!!! If you thought that the first one was dark, we’ll you’re in for a treat this is totally in the genre the joker, it is haunted, creepy and there’s no other way to put it but crazy good!!
Killian; as part of the brotherhood is obviously not a hero; he’s known as the trickster; he knows what he likes and that’s women, he can snap his fingers and get any girl on his lap; all but one, who seems to be his own version of hell, and looks like descendant of mermaids made just for him.
Saskia is the new member of the Midnight Mayhem, she dances and has a true gift with playing with fire. She was always the quiet girl, not many friends and as far as she can tell, a normal life. But in the Kiznitch world there are secrets, and if you think you’re getting out with your sanity intact, well I beg to differ.
This book is so much more intense than the first one, I personally advise you to read with an open mind, you have no idea that you’re about to embark into a world you’ve never imagine, and I must tell once again the music is a key part in this series, Amo Jones knows about music and writing that couldn’t be more clear. This book is just the tip of the iceberg, and I can’t wait to have the complete series.
I’m guessing I will be in the minority here, but unfortunately, I did NOT connect with this story or it’s characters at all. Like AT. ALL. Lord knows I tried. I. TRIED. My biggest hurdle was yet A G A I N that this book had an ENDLESS amount of similarities to Amo’s other series, THE ELITE KINGS CLUB (which I LOVED btw. Like, own the ebook, PBs and audios kind of love). And now after reading the first book in this series, IN PEACE LIES HAVOC, I was able to pick up similarities from that book in comparison to this book as well. I stated this was an issue I had with book 1, IPLH as well in my review for that book. The comparability was many. I do not know how these similarities were looked over and not mentioned by editors and such. I literally was having so many deja vus while reading that I felt like I was rereading those other books but with different character names. I could even give you a list of some of my comparisons that I read/found. This tedious familiarity led to me not being able to connect with the story or the characters and that just bummed me out because I was thoroughly looking forward to this one.
IN FURY LIES MISCHIEF was everything I’ve come to expect from Amo, but that’s unfortunately where there’s a problem…for me. There’s a “formulaic” vibe happening. I needed it to be unpredictable. I needed more depth. I needed more love than lust. I simply needed M O R E. This series thus far is just TOO reminiscent of Amo’s previous works for my liking. The ONLY difference is the magical/telekinesis aspect that this series has. Otherwise, it’s all very wash, rinse, and repeat. The characters personalities and reactions, the story line, the plot twists, the drama. All. The. Same.
I want, no I NEED Amo to reach out of her comfort zone. Step away from the repetitive stories about juvenile antics, partying, drinking, drugs, sex and mind games and try something NEW. Something DIFFERENT. Something UNEXPECTED and UNPREDICTABLE. Enough of the stories where there is several guys and one girl. Enough with the mind games, cryptic messages and questions. Enough with the hate to love, push and pull. Enough with the memory issues. Enough with the 10 different pet names. Enough with the OTT drama. Enough with the S A M E type of story. I KNOW Amo can give me more than this. I’ve experienced it with her series, THE ELITE KINGS and some of her other books that I’ve read. I’m just waiting for it to happen again. I enjoy how her mind works and how she always has me guessing within her stories that I’ve read previous to THIS series. She has a unique way of telling a story that’s not comparable to other authors I’ve read. I just need her to capture THAT creativity that I grew to love when I first started reading her.
Unfortunately, at this point, I am just finishing this series out of pure curiosity sake. I want to be shown where it goes and if it deviates from Amo’s norm. I want to see if I stop getting deja vu because as of right now, this feels like a rewriting/rebranding of Amo’s already AMAZING series, THE ELITE KINGS CLUB. I can’t speak more of my love for that series and those characters. I’ll be here to read book 3, IN SILENCE SHE SCREAMS, whenever that one comes out. That one will be revolving around Kyrin, Lilith and another character that I guess we haven’t met yet.
2.5 stars
Wow! So much hatred and passion! These two just emanate animosity and undeniable attraction. The story behind them can destroy them. But it’s all coming out and when the connection I made it’s shocking. It just keep unraveling until lives are forever changed.
I’m blown away by this book. I loved Perse and King, but Saskia and Killian?! .
In Fury Lies Mischief is dark and seductive and lures you in from the very beginning. Killian is the delicious anti-hero everyone cannot get enough of. Saskia is the only woman who rises above and doesn’t back down from Killian’s games. As with every Amo Jones book, I devoured every word and begged for more.
In Fury Lies Mischief swallowed me whole. Twists. Mindtricks. Stunts. Steam. This book has everything! And I need my next fix. Like right now. The Trickster and Little Dragon delivered a mindf*ck of epic proportions. READ IT.
FINAL RATING: 4.5*
The missing half-star… you ask? Well, book two felt like a recycled version of IPLH. The author brought a little too little novelty to the plot so somewhere in the middle some parts fell flat to me. But overall, Amo Jones raw, yet addictive writing over-weighted any possible shortcomings.
Filthy, dirty book-nookie is the best foursome you can have with two book characters, and an author in a room full of other people while wearing your clothes. –You can quote me on that. Hell, I’m going to quote me on that.
Amo Jones and I book-nookied again. Midnight Mayhem is upon me, and I love the hell out of it.
Killian is back to his old trickery. His brand of mischief focused on Perse’s girl Saskia Royal. Despite her many self-lectures regarding making better choices about putting her lips where other skanky lips have been, Sass can’t quit the man-slut. There is something about the naughty Cornelii that she is angrily fascinated with, it pisses her off.
Personally, I think it’s that thing they talk about poison tasting like candy. Like antifreeze is supposed to taste sweet or something. Poison sometimes feels like just what you need on the tip of your tongue.
And Killian appreciates his name on the tip of Sass’s tongue. He wants to be the only thought in her head because he isn’t fairing any better with his obsession and doesn’t want to be alone in it.
This mental imbalance happens when your demons out of the past to escort you hell. No better sharing a circle in a fiery ring with than the person you wronged and sent to their hell, and Killian is responsible for sending everyone to hell at one point or another.
Can two villains have a happy ending?
IFLM is prime-time Amo Jones. It’s what she is, what she does, and what you pay her to give you more of each time. I am hoping that Keaton, one day gets a happier ending.
Well hot damn, kill sure knows how to set your soul on fire….
Everyone who knows me knows I’m a huge amo fan she has a way of telling a story like no other ,its not just a story but a book that transports you to the world that is written within its pages…
Kill and sass’s story will take you back to the dark and sinfully sexy world of the midnight mayhem crew and boy do they put on another amazing show!!!!
Another fantastically written book full of twists and turns that in true amo style completely messes with your mind in an addictive way , each book gets better and I’m so excited for more from within the madness that is midnight mayhem….
Too dark, too weird.
“This isn’t a fairy tale, or some achingly beautiful story about two soul mates who instantly fall irrevocably in love with each other.” This is definitely not a fairy tale. This is book 2 of the Midnight Mayhem series. You really have to read book 1 to get the who is who and their background. I think it would be to confusing if you didn’t. I love so much a story that you do not see whats coming and that is what Amo Jones books are. Its hard to write a review , where do you start? Each character has their own twisted personality that makes you hate no, love them! LOL! The story is a masterfully crafted to keep you in suspense and you think its going in one direction and all of the sudden takes a turn. I freakin love books like this!
I love Killian and his bada* cocky attitude. Saskia has her own broken story and was made for the show. Love her spunkiness. Don’t want to give to much away you really must read the book.
I love this crazy, f*cked up world that Amo Jones has created with the Midnight Mayhem series!
This series is my introduction to Amo’s writing and I am amazed at how she lured me in and captivated me with both stories. She pushes boundaries, blurs lines repeatedly, and then blows the readers’ minds with her twists and turns.
This story featuring Killian – Trickster – and Saskia- Little Dragon – had a haunting feel to it. The known demons that these two struggle with, past and present, are just a dent to what is waiting to be uncovered.
Amo Jones writes this story so incredibly well that I feel as if I’m right there in the thick of it. I can smell the gasoline when the boys are on their bikes and I can visually see the acts being performed in my head. I forget that I’m reading this on my Kindle and that I’m NOT a part of the Midnight Mayhem group.
I can’t wait for more from Amo because I’m already addicted to her words!
Amo Jones is GOD when it comes to dark romance. I bask in the world that she has created. Her words are so vivid and entrancing. I feel every last emotion as if I’m the one experiencing these things as they play out.
Killian is the ultimate dark, mysterious bad boy. He pisses you off until you shatter but then gently pieces you back together. He’s practically the devil himself but I will gladly keep every delicious part of this man.
Saskia deals with demons. She puts a shield up so no one gets close enough. The problem is she stands out. Her beauty and mystery are like a siren. Killian is her blessing and her curse, battering her already broken soul.
An outstanding read that left me breathless! I devoured this read. I need the next one in this series ASAP!!!
I don’t know what to say, I finished this book last night and I’m still speechless! All I can say is Killian is EVERYTHING! I never anticipated the twists and turns that happened in this book. More than once I was left picking my jaw up off the floor. Amo Jones is a master story-teller! Just read the book!!!

Oh, Killian, sir you have met your match. Amo has done it again in In Fury Lies Mischief (Midnight Mayhem #2). This woman will take you into her world and you will not want to leave. Every time I see a book pop up from Amo I throw my money at her. Who needs Starbucks when you can get Killian???
Saskia and Killian are perfect for each other. No, they don’t just fall in each other’s arms. You hear that “oh she is a strong h” but honey let me tell you. Saskia brought Killian to his knees, BEAUTIFULLY!
All I can say if you have never read Amo Jones before… there is no reason not to. PHENOMENAL SERIES!
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!! Amo Jones is a mother******* genius.
Gahhh, I never know how to write a review of her books. I have plenty of emotions, with no lack of words. The problem is they don’t make any sense. I end up sounding much like an eleven-year-old girl who’s meeting her favorite TikTok star. I’m just here with my hands in the air chanting *KILLIAN* *KILLIAN* *KILLIAN*
One of the best decisions I made last year was picking up my first read from Amo. Yeah, it’s safe to say that I became addicted. She blows my mind with every book. I didn’t think it could get any better than In Peace Lies Havoc. Boom, she delivers In Fury Lies Mischief. This book was everything that I needed. I’m already awaiting my next fix.
Well, we’re back again riding this crazy train that spawned from the mind of Amo Jones. This time it is Killian’s (AKA Trickster) homicidal self we are seeing make his way through the chaos that is Saskia. Saskia has never let anyone in, and yet Killian seems to be slowly breaking down the walls she has so carefully erected. His push and pull attitude with her leaves her spinning though and eventually some secrets are revealed that leave the entire group reeling. Will things ever be the same again, not only for Killian and Saskia but also for the entire Midnight Mayhem team?
This is definitely one of Amo’s more darker intense reads with plenty of drama, some action, lots of steamy action and the signature Amo Jones OMG mind twisters aplenty. The only negative I can give, and this is purely a personal preference thing as I know a lot people will like it, but the constant telling of what song starts playing got annoying after a while. I not only don’t really care what song is playing but 85% of the artists/songs mentioned I haven’t even heard of so having no clue what it is added nothing to the story for me and just made me think, “why on earth is she making note of what song is playing when … is happening right now?”. I can’t wait to see where this series is going to go next, something even crazier is brewing, I can just feel it, and I give In Fury Lies Mischief 5 stars.

Amo has done it again! Time and time again I slip into Amo’s stories with ease, diving headfirst into the worlds she has created becoming utterly consumed and completely enraptured. Killian and Saskia are next level Perfection in this book!! And I could not get enough of these two and their soul deep connection. Amo has created a deliciously dark and mysterious world with Midnight Mayhem, one where whatever you think you know, you actually have no idea. Who doesn’t enjoy a little mayhem?
. .
You first meet Killian in In Peace Lies Havoc I would recommend reading that book first as it introduces you to everyone and what Midnight Mayhem consists of.
I thought I was in love with King but let me tell you Killian blew King out of the water. I was not prepared for the onslaught of Killian and his personality. This man is dark, devious, alpha possessive down to his core. I loved how unapologetic he was about who is his and what he does. He is depraved in a way that all those associated with Midnight Mayhem are. And he doesn’t care one bit about it. The ferocity with which he holds his loyalty is the sexist thing about him. Once he cares about a person there is nothing, he won’t do to protect you. He would kill, maim, destroy and raze the world to the ground for those he cares about.
, . , .
Saskia is something else, this girl is strong and fierce but at the same time you can see the cracks in her armor. She has gone through some things that you can’t even imagine, and you can see that in her. She is strong but vulnerable at the same time and watching as she attempts to maintain that strength through every new revelation pulls at your heart. Their dark and twisted souls call to each other and soothe the other in the deepest possible way. I don’t think either of them were prepared for the type of connection that exists between them.
, . ’ , .
This world that Amo has created to beyond anything I have ever read, and I am addicted to every word every moment that she creates. This story is not an easy one, it’s a decadently dark read that will push your boundaries and make you feel things you might not be prepared to. Her words have the power to rip apart your world while simultaneously making you enjoy every moment of that devastation while she slowly pieces your world back together. Amo is utterly addictive, everything she creates has the power to consume you seeping deep into your soul all the way down to your very marrow until her words become a part of you. And Killian and Saskia’s story is no different, you can’t really prepare for Killian he will come into your life and wreak havoc with his signature smirk in place, but I promise you will love every minute of it. This series is quickly becoming one of my All Time Favorites and I can’t wait to see where Amo takes us next in this addictive world of Mayhem… Are you ready?
Well wow. That was even more insane than I anticipated. You know going in to any Amo book that you should expect utter craziness laced in with intricate plots and complex characters. It’s what readers love most about her stories, they’re inherently unique and impossible to duplicate. This story, this one was no different. Killian and Saskia are true madness and mischief. Their story is tangled in the past, laced in distrust, smothered with hatred and thrown together with a seriously intense backstory. I didn’t expect any of what transpired, and it made for an extremely exhilarating story.
I do want to preface this entire review by urging readers to read (or reread) the first book in the series before diving in to this one. I didn’t and I regret it, it took me a bit too long to get my sea legs and remember all the important details and character roles. It stopped me from being able to dive right in and immerse myself from the jump. So yeah, plan a quick refresher beforehand and you should be good to go.
This story was an adrenaline-soaked ride that pushed, pulled and did not disappoint. It has the perfect mix of sex, drama, angst and absurdity to make for a dark and twisted addition to this series. I loved the trickster, I adored the hellfire and I fell hard for the enemies to lovers storyline. I don’t doubt that fans of the series will love this new book and rejoice at Amo’s continued dance into insanity.
This is book 2 in the Midnight Mayhem series. I loved the first book, but the second book left me speechless. I love when books are told in duel POVs to give the reader insight into both of the main characters. This book did just that. The author made me FEEL with this book. These characters were amazingly written and left my emotions raw.
Saskia and Killian not only brought the angst, they also brought the heat! These two are scorching hot and in true Amo Jones fashion, I was left stunned by the twisty bits in this story. This author created a world with amazing characters that keep you wanting more. This is a must read!
Twisted!! Let me say it again, TWISTED!! That’s what this book is! Mind games runneth over with this story. I can’t figure out who I love more- Killian or Saskia. He is intense and unapologetic whilst she is a sassy, fierce spitfire. Their relationship is explosive and chemistry undeniable. Midnight Mayhem is quickly becoming my guilty pleasure!!
Amo Jones kills it once again! In Fury Lies Mischief was raw, twisted, dark, edgy, and filled with dark goodness. I thought I had a pretty good idea of who Killian was from In Peace Lies Havoc but dang was I wrong. There are so many complex layers to Killian that just when you think you are starting to get a grasp on his story Amo pulls the rug right from under you. Killian is an amalgamation I tried to solve, but instead just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
Then there was Saskia. No one writes strong, resilient heroines quite like Amo Jones does. Despite the real vulnerabilities and flaws her heroines share that make them human just like the rest of us, she also shows just how strong one can be. That despite living through difficult times in ones life, one can always find strength and resiliency in themselves and those around them that support them. Saskia is the epitome of strength and resiliency. I was utter awe of her. And damn is she doesn’t give Killian a run for his money!
Once again Amo creates an explosive and captivating story that I can completely loose myself within. As I read it was like I became a part of the story. I got lost in the characters words and emotions, in the crazy world that is Midnight Mayhem. In Fury Lies Mischief was one of those stories that demanded your attention and you were all too happy to oblige. There is something so unique and special about this world that Amo has created. Midnight Mayhem is like this larger than life world one goes to to live out ones deepest darkest desires and fantasies. It draws you in and never lets you go.
I have no words to truly describe my absolute love and adoration for this story and the freaking epicness that is Amo Jones. I have said it many times before and I will say it again, Amo Jones is the freaking Queen!!! Her words touch a very special place in my dark soul. Words that allow me to escape from reality if only for a short while. But enough time to feel like I have connected with Amo, her words and all of the readers who loose themselves to Amo Jones’s words as well. All of us connected through this fantastic and genuine woman and her words.
