She was everything that I wanted.
He was everything that I despised.
Until she wasn’t.
Until he wasn’t.
Killian Cornelii was a walking calamity. He reached inside of me and touched every single inch of my ruined soul, but he didn’t just touch it. He caressed, petted, and captivated it. He tailored me to fit into the palm of his hands. The same hands that possess so much cruelty, were the very … cruelty, were the very same that comforted me.
I thought I knew him.
He thought he knew me.
This isn’t a fairy tale, or some achingly beautiful story about two soul mates who instantly fall irrevocably in love with each other.
This is a story about a love so painful, so rich, that it destroys everything and everyone around it.
Including ourselves.
Midnight Mayhem is the platform to which Killian performs his tricks on, but the greatest trick wouldn’t come from him.
It would come from me.
Tricksters don’t have hearts.
They just pretend that they do.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

Amo has a way of writing that grips your soul and rips it apart on a whole other level only to leave you begging for more. Her stories are raw and full of the type of suspense that has you eagerly wanting to turn the pages. There are authors who write stories that have you thinking of the book days after. But then there are authors like Amo who leave you thinking of her books and the beautiful world’s that she creates years after they’ve been read.
Amo seems to create dark heroes to a perfection. Violent and an a class asshole. Killian is no different. He is the Mischief in “In Fury lies Mischief.” His smile is deceiving but you cannot help but fall at your feet whenever he is near. Killian fights dirty but loves harder and boy am I jealous of Saskia.
Saskia does not take any nonsense. She pushes and pulls Killian constantly and its entertaining to read. Their chemistry is off the charts with how rough and dirty the two of them can get.
I love the world of Mayhem. It is unique and a complete WOW moment throughout the whole book. Prepare yourself for a wild ride because if you know Amo then you know just how crazy her books can be.
I always get sad when I get to the last few pages of her books. I want to so desperately hold onto the characters just a bit longer before having to saying goodbye. After every book that Amo writes I always wonder how she will top it off but she seems to shock me every time with how brilliant her next stories are.
I love Amo and the ability she has to let me escape reality and enter into her cheeky and dark books. She is an exceptional writer and I can always read her passion for writing within the pages of her books.
In Fury Lies Mischief is the second book of Midnight Mayhem series. It can be read as a STANDALONE. We can read the story from Killian & Saskia’s POV.
When I take an Amo book or write a review about it I just can’t help myself. I’m flooding the story all the time. It is what it brings out of me. I read from a lot of authors, but she’s my BEST EVER.
The highlight of my life when I start to read a new book from Amo. Everytime when I got her books in my hands, the real world is disappears. From that moment only that world exists what Amo’s created. And this world ruined me. Fucking. Ruined. Me. This feeling, this characters! I can’t explain with words. This is FUCKING EPIC.
I thought there is no character who I liked better than King. I was wrong, again. KILLIAN IS PERFECT. He is occupant and savage but simultaneously he is a protector and a real likeable character. We can know a new heroine. She is Saskia. Her character has long been a mystery to me. I didn’t understand if she didn’t know about Killian why did she fight so vehemently against. However, that there is no escaping, because, yes it’s LOVE. Twisted, dark and maybe ugly, but LOVE. Meanwhile, I felt that this whole thing isn’t that simple. Something is happening in the background. Somewhere there is a missing piece which makes it a whole picture. I thought nothing new, already she can’t surprise me. Yeah, I was wrong, again. She masterfully twist the story. The whole thing taking place before my eyes and I didn’t see. She did it again, she gave us a PERFECT STORY again. Although I still don’t understand why I’m so surprised…You need to read!!!!
If you don’t have Amo Jones in your life already, not in the time to rectify that. This book SHOOK me. I definitely had tears. I wont spoil anything. But guys, this book was hands down on of my favorite reads from Amo ever. Ever. Saskia was life.
This was a story of deceit and chaos. It was a story that loved fiercely and hurt just as brutally. Killian and Saskia as are perfect as they are toxic and this story shows you their depth.
The thing I love about his series the most is that it is as full of love as it is the darkness and twisted parts. Amo does a perfect job of wrapping you up so tightly in the story that you don’t want to stop reading once you start. You spend the entire time reading trying to piece things together and once the answers start to show you are floored by them.
This book guys. The twist in it were like nothing you could see coming. My heart hurt as much s it was excited to see what was coming next. I am left salivating for the next book in this world. I loved the little extras we got in this one and they made the book even that much more sweet.
I’m not a new reader of Amo Jones, I’ve read all of her books so I know what to expect when I start a new book of hers. I know exactly what I’m getting into, I know to expect the twists and turns that she loves to throw at us. So I went into this fully prepared for anything…so I thought anyway.
I loved every single thing about Saskia. Her attitude is chill but she’s definitely not a walk over. There’s a sexiness to her that bleeds from the page. She draws you to her and leaves you wanting more. Killian….Killian was everything I’d hoped he would be. He’s dark, brooding and makes my knees go weak. I’d be all over him in real life, I can definitely see the appeal. There’s something about Ms Jones’ male characters that make me fall for them every single time and I was already halfway in love with Kill before I’d even started this book (go look at the cover, that will explain it all. It’s got to be one of my all time favourite covers). The chemistry between these two is unbelievably hot, the angst is off the charts and I couldn’t get enough of the push and pull between them.
I adore this author and her work. She scatters hints and clues throughout her books that i don’t always pick up on at the time (because I don’t know that they’re clues) but when I reread (which is a must for Ms Jones’ books for me for this reason) it all comes together even more than the first time and shows just how genius she is at telling a story and laying it all out there for you to see (once you know what you’re looking for).
This is yet again another fantastic book from this author. This series just keeps getting better and better and I can’t wait for more from Midnight Mayhem especially Kyrin. I’m already desperate to get his story.
OMG!! Amo Jones did the damn thing ONCE AGAIN!! In Fury Lies Mischief was legit FIRE!!! I was mesmerized and consumed from the first page. Killian and Saskia were basically a cauldron of explosiveness that never let up from the getgo. And honestly, I thought King was everything – but Killian? God Almighty! Jones broke the mold with him. HE IS THE BEST HERO SHE HAS WRITTEN TO DATE!! I NEVER WANT TO LEAVE THIS WORLD!!!!
What I love most about reading an Amo Jones book is feeling like I am coming home. Her stories hit the spot and I never want them to end. I thought I knew who Killian was after reading book one, but honestly I HAD NO IDEA. This man had hidden facets upon hidden facets that I could only dream of. Ladies and Gentlemen- he was beyond sexy and addicting. He was edgy and intense and like a drug – I need more!!! I am so in love with him it isn’t even funny!!! The minute he rolled up on the page I sat at attention. I loved his fierceness and the way he was drawn to Saskia. Their connection could not be denied. Likewise, Sass was the epitome of an Amo Jones heroine. She was so damn strong but also filled with real vulnerabilities and raw emotions hidden deep inside. She was closed up on the outside but when she loved, she loved deep and all consuming.
Overall this story was hands down magnificent. The sexy and fiery banter, the passion, the deep love and loyalty within the brothers and sisters of Kiznitch, the fantastic playlist I read along with, the sensual and mystical vibe of Midnight Mayhem itself and the dark and hidden secrets of this world we are only just learning about took my breath away. I am so here for the next book and look forward to more from Jones in the future!! Killian and Saskia are hands down 5 Star Goals!!! Bravo! ~Ratula
“Words can be a powerful weapon, lethal enough to strip anyone of their composure
while leaving their confidence bleeding out over the floor.”
This is – IMO – Amo’s best work to date.
I read this from cover to cover in one sitting
It was Intense – Raw
I couldn’t walk away I had to know
The chemistry between Killian and Saskia –
It had its own rhythm –
Its own pulse.
“Beauty only neutralizes the evil in a person. It blinds people with its surface to conceal the darkness that swims beneath it. ”
I’m not going to repeat the blurb or fill this space with pretty words. Let go of your reservations, your judgments, your expectations – Enjoy the journey as it was meant to be.
Let the darkness that is Kill and Sass envelop you.
I promise you will love every wicked moment.
“There are too many people who would rather torment you with your weakness than acknowledge you for your triumphs”
Saskia is so much more than Trickster’s next plaything.
She is the reckoning
The twists! The lies! The lust!
Was worth the journey!
I’ve been reading works by this author for a while now and every book outdoes the rest. I was uncertain if Amo Jones could raise the bar after ‘In Peace Lies Havoc’; boy did this one kick me in the head!
For some odd reason, Delilah ups and takes Mayhem out to sea. Of course, chaos ensues. It wouldn’t be an Amo Jones book without these necessary ingredients.
Action-packed and fast-paced, this is a high octane read. As addictive as a sugar high with just enough come down to keep the reader ensconced in the book until the very bitter end.
Saskia like all Amo heroines is a cut above the rest. We’re used to the men of these books holding most if not all of the secrets, but when Saskia’s are dragged into the light of day I was completely surprised.
I’m used to being able to pin down the who and why. But not this time, or any other book by this author. I don’t know how she comes up with the plots she does, but I have come to the conclusion she’s very much a sadist. Pain, blood and tears are her drugs of choice and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Killian threw me through so many loops I didn’t know which way to turn. Signals left go right, jumps when you expect him to go backwards. This man has so many tricks in this arsenal, an arsenal I deeply believe he wished he’d never have to delve into.
Midnight Mayhem is nor one thing or another, they are who they are and this makes any relationship or interaction very different from most dark romances. This couple had so much going against them that I didn’t see how it would work. There is never a HEA, always an HFN which is fine with me, this time.
The ending left me aghast and I’m so uncertain how this will go from here. Each brother has their own demons and I’m sure with each one we burrow into, their tale will be darker than the last. Maya and Victoria were the best secondary characters in this book and I cannot wait to see what will come of Lilith after the events in Patience.
Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust: The gates to hell are creaking opening…
Amo Jones throws you in the deep end and drowns you with her tortured words. This book has a darkness that sneaks up on you, it is about a trickster after all, and just when you think you have it all figured out, she flips the script and sends you on a chase for your sanity.
Killian and Saskia are every dark heart’s desire of pain and passion. They have a chemistry like no other that even they don’t understand. It just is. The rest of the Brothers Kiznitch and Midnight of course never disappoint with their level of danger and debauchery, in and out of their acts.
Secrets are revealed and blood is spilled, leaving you wondering just who you should or should not trust…
“Welcome to Midnight Mayem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity…” – no truer words have been spoken..
What in the world did I just read?…….is the question I ask myself every time I finish an Amo Jones book. Because every single time she takes me on the ride of a lifetime and has me gripping the edge of my seat desperate for more. And y’all, she continues to serve every. Single. Time! In Fury Lies Mischief will rock your world, blow your mind, throw you for so many loops, and have you feeling all kinds of emotions!
Once again, the brothers of Kitznitch will show you just how sexy and sinful they really are. And Killian, he’s definitely one of a kind. He will drive you absolute bonkers and steal your panties at the same darn time. He’s infuriating, yet so intoxicating. And Saskia is right there giving it all right back to him. Their back and forth will have you on edge and just when you think it’s getting good Amo swoops in to throw us all for a loop. And I think this is an even bigger loop than in In Peace Lies Havoc. I couldn’t have predicted what would happen in this book and it absolutely shocked me. Total mind blown moment that had me trying to piece together everything that happened in the book to figure out how I didn’t think of it.
You won’t be able to put this book down so definitely be prepared to read it in one sitting. You won’t be able to keep yourself from wanting to know exactly what happens next. Because like I said before, this book is unpredictable. This is hands down one of my favorite reads of 2020 and honestly ever!
Midnight Mayhem is also one of my favorite series ever and I get so excited anytime a new book is set to come out. Amo continues to outdo herself with each book she writes and I think I am most excited for what’s to come next in Kyrin, Lilith, and the mystery guys book. You see bits and pieces of them in this book and they seem the most twisted of them all! Which if you know Amo, it means its gonna be one heck of a book!
How can something so dark be so beautiful I don’t know but I know it’s something I need! I also know Amo is the only one who can fill that! Her stories weave a web of bloody lies and twisted tales that I can’t ever get enough of!
The brutal honest truth at the heart of every Amo story is that sometimes blood isn’t thicker than water and the “families” that we find in the bonds of friendship are stronger than anything because you need trust and you need love to form those bonds!
In the very darkest corners of Amo’s stories you will find the most beautiful souls and that shows how truly talented Jones is!
Killian’s story is full of what I have come to love in an Amo story! It’s full of the most twisty twists (yes that’s a mouthful but this book is MIND-BLOWING) and when you think you have Kiznitch figured out BOOM you’re slammed with new insight that leaves you reeling! I am in awe of this group of dark people and I have fallen in love with each one! I know the road is paved with more darkness and bumpier roads but I’m here for all of it!
Well I thought that I loved King the best but then Amo has to go write Killians story. I think now he is my favorite monster! He will love unconditionally ( in his own messed up way) and fight fiercely for his family. We also meet Saskia aka Little Villian aka Little Dragon, they are drawn to each other she tries to fight it and Killian tries to master it. We get to know more about Kiznitch ( woo messed up ) and Midnight Mayhem. When I learned Killian and Saskia story man my heart broke especially Saskia. She is so strong to overcome the situation she grew up in. I am sooo glad that one of the people taken out in this book was well taken out. We also got an appearance Tillie from Malum ( I haven’t gotten to read the last three books in the Elite Kings) and man it makes me want to buy the rest on the Elite series. Oh and did I mention that this book is HOT!!! This is a great series and I can’t wait to read more.
I always know that I’m in for a wild ride when I’m about to dive into one of Amo Jones’ books. This author consistently delivers a unique reading experience that never fails to leave me shaken and desperate for more. In Fury Lies Mischief is book two of Amo’s Midnight Mayhem series and it’s certainly everything I’ve come to expect from Amo’s books and more. This is Killian and Saskia’s story and did these two turn up the heat! I adore Killian. He definitely lived up to the title of Trickster and is the arrogant yet hot af alphahole only Amo Jones manages to create. You never know if he is going to kiss you or kill you, or, maybe kill you while kissing you. But it might just be worth it anyway. Killian is probably one of my favorite Amo’s “heroes” to-date. Saskia is such a perfect match for Trickster. She can definitely hold her own in and out of the bedroom. I am a sucker for a strong take no prisoners heroine with a vulnerable core, and we definitely get that in Sass. These two together are fire and gasoline, they ignite and burn each other and everything around them to the ground. The love story aspect of this book is beautiful and definitely takes center stage. This is not to say that IFLM lacks in suspense and action department. It just comes secondary to the romance and I loved that. Another thing I love about Amo’s work that definitely shone here are the well developed secondary characters that really add to the story. I can’t wait to see more of them in future installments. This review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the world of Midnight Mayhem itself. Amo Jones created such a visceral experience where the reader gets transported to this dark and depraved circus act and gets to live it right alongside the characters . This book is a definite must-read!!
Five amazing, twisted, mind blowing stars for this dark and gritty romance! In Fury Lies Mischief will grip you right from the first page as this author has nailed it again with her intricate storytelling and clever world building. There were heart stopping twists and turns, astounding revelations, red hot scorching scenes, and of course, intriguing characters that kept me enthralled from beginning to end.
This author never fails to create a captivating cast of characters that are dark, damaged, and so sinful that you cannot help but be pulled into their allure. And Killian, the “Trickster” is just that and then some. He is the definition of dark and depraved and pretty much everything you wish for in an anti-hero.
Saskia is a fascinating heroine. She is strong, yet vulnerable and is one of my favorite heroines by this author. I love the affect that she has on Killian and how she harnesses that push-pull between them. These two imperfect characters are in fact, perfect for each other. Their relationship is complex. The chemistry between them is intense and the magnetic force between them is palpable.
In Fury Lies Mischief is book 2 in this author’s Midnight Mayhem series, but Saskia’s and Killian’s story is uniquely their own. This book, in theory, could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading In Peaces Lies Havoc first to get the full experience. If you like your romances raw, dark, unpredictable, and full of intrigue, then you will definitely want to pick up IFLM.
I have surrendered my soul once again to a crazy, dark and total masterpiece.
‘In Fury Lies Mischief’ by Amo Jones is book number two in the ‘Midnight Mayhem’ series, and just like any other book from this author, this story has taken over my life, stolen my soul and once finished I had no idea how to go on.
If you have read any previous Amo’s book, then you know to expect the unexpected, to get ready to dive into a world of violence, to prepare your heart to love even the craziest of psychos and to feel for the strongest of heroines.
This is a dark world where villains run the show, where everyone has secrets, no one is afraid to kill. A world so scary but yet so inexplicably intriguing, you can’t help but dive headfirst into a black hole not knowing what’s waiting for you at the bottom.
We met Killian and the rest of the brothers in ‘In Peace Lies Havoc’, so I kinda knew what to expect from him, but what I expected didn’t even begin to scratch the surface of his character.
He is one of the villains in this story, an alphahole killer who likes to sleep around, have fun and do whatever he pleases to do.
He is a Trickster, someone capable to play with your mind with one simple look, someone you should fear, your worst nightmare disguised as the best dream you’ll ever have.
Kill is hard and calculating, ready to go to the extreme in order to uncover the truth, a man so beautiful and yet so dark, your mind will melt just thinking about him.
Saskia is a little firecracker, she’ll step on the enemy’s b*lls if she feels like it, she does not cower in front of anyone, show any weaknesses or stand down when challenged.
She is strong, both in the mind and her body, she is a very talented performer, someone that could stop a show with one look.
She is quiet and mostly keeps to herself, but don’t bee fooled by this and think she is innocent and not capable of anything because she is deadly, silent but deadly.
Sass is a little bit crazy herself, strong enough to go toe-to-toe with a devil, look him in the eye and f*ckng laugh at him. You could say she has a death wish for doing so, but she won’t enter a war unless she was positive she could win.
This dark masterpiece will bring you to an entirely different world, one you can only wish was real, one where power is everything, where devils wear masks and don’t hide in the shadows. A world full of mischief and fire, angst, raw pain, fury, violence and of course death.
Like any other ‘Midnight Mayhem’ book, ‘In Fury Lies Mischief’ is a dark and twisted book full of lies and secrets sewn into its DNA, this is not a light book and if you have triggers or can’t stand violence, blood, and everything nightmares are made of, then I suggest you go looking for your next read somewhere else.
BUT if you are like me, a little twisted inside, someone not scared to willingly surrender your soul to the devil itself, then look no more because this book will satisfy even the craziest of us all.
A book that deserves more than five stars. A book that should come with a warning that says: “Beware of pretty smiles and crazy eyes. If you are not careful enough, you will lose yourself and most importantly your mind to Midnight Mayhem. No monsters hide in the shadows here, they run wild, ready to hunt you down.”.
