In a sizzling new Argeneau novel from New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands, a gorgeous mortal encounters his greatest temptation…
For almost two centuries, Ildaria Garcia has been on the run, a trouble magnet with a knack for taking down bad guys. Lately, her vigilante tendencies have drawn unwelcome attention to her fellow Immortals. Forced to relocate, Ildaria is supposed to lay low in a new town. Instead, she quickly entangles herself with six and a half feet of muscular, tattooed trouble.
Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, aka G.G., knows a lot about Immortals—enough to make him wary. Yet from the moment Ildaria walks into his club, he feels desire stronger than anything he’s known. Accepting the fact that they might be life mates is disconcerting. But when her past catches up to them, G.G. faces a choice—confront his demons at last, or lose a passion that’s hot as hell.

Books are always lighthearted and fun, with a guaranteed happy ending! A fun read as usual!
Immortal Angel by Lynsay Sands is book 31 in the Argeneau Series. This is the story of Ildaria and Joshua “G.G.”. I have read the previous book but I do feel this can be a standalone if you choose to do so. Ildaria was attacked when she was younger and she ended up becoming a Immortal. Ildaria has turned into a fighting immortal taking down the bad guys. When she has compromised herself and possible others she is relocated to a small town to lay low and work at a somewhat normal job at a club. This leads her to meet her new boss G.G who is also a immortal. G.G. knows that he is drawn to Ildaria but has took the path to fight his feelings. Ildaria is a strong women who doesn’t have much experience in the bedroom but that doesn’t stop her attempts to be more to G.G. Of course their path isn’t easy…especially when Ildaria past comes back for her. I am such a fan of Ms. Sands that I would highly recommend her writing because she just draws you into her story’s.
Great read – with adventure, a tough woman fighting for her independence and safety, with bad guys and good guys all leading to an HEA! Wonderful addition to the series – don’t miss it!!

So this series is good for the simple fact you can jump in where ever you want and me ok. You could read them out of order and be just fine too. I’ve only read books 30, 27, 16, and 23. Then I dove into this book next, and it was ok but it wasn’t amazing either. I this the start was good, the ending was ok, but the middle was just meh. Some parts dragged out, some parts where not necessary, and then some were awful.. I’ll keep trying them but this was just so so for me.
A human with a mother that is a vampire, G.G. was first met in a previous book. He runs a bar that is for vampires only and even though his mother wants him to be immortal he refuses to be turned. Of course, he has his reasons. When a beautiful woman comes into his bar he is inexplicably drawn to her. He hires her and gives her an apartment to live in above the bar, one that makes her his new neighbor. That’s the set up for Lynsay Sands latest book about the Argeneau family of vampires and certainly was the delight for me this time.
The Argeneau family are the elite of the vampire world and based in Toronto. These vampires are not the vampires of old, instead they hail from Atlantis and only survived due to their scientists finding a way to keep their people in good health by changing their body. It ended up doing more than just giving them good health, they are instead immortal. They must drink blood to live however, and they certainly never died like the vampires in most stories did. They do have their laws and Lucian Argeneau is the head of the North America Immortal Council and gets involved with the group that enforces the laws. They can’t go rogue and change people willy nilly, in fact each immortal must only change one person ever. It goes without saying that they generally change their mate rather than anyone else. They also can not be seen using their amazing immortal skills, such as picking up huge items, running faster than the eye can see, hearing what no one else can, reading minds, etc.
Ildaria manages to get in trouble a lot. She just can’t help herself when she sees someone in trouble. With today’s cell phones and other devices, it’s inevitable that she would make Lucian mad and that he would have to rein her in. So he makes her quit night college for now and get a job. When she meets G.G. at her new job babysitting his small dog and doing the books for his bar, she is very drawn to him. A friend makes her realize that he is her mate due to her not being able to read his mind. Problem? He has no intention of ever being changed. Ever. No matter how he feels about her.
I really always enjoy these books. Some are lighthearted, especially in the beginning of this 31 book series, others are full on adventure or suspense. I’ve enjoyed both types of these books in the series. And no, I haven’t read them all, although I’ve read quite a few of them-especially the newer ones. There’s always plenty of humor and catching up with previous characters which is always a plus for me.
I had fun reading G.G. and Ildaria’s(middle name Angel)story and romance. I did have a smidgeon of a problem with the fact that G.G. has a full on mohawk and it’s green. Not my thing, but Ildaria didn’t care. G.G. does stand for Green Giant after all.
There’s plenty of romance and sexy times to be had and I would recommend this to adult paranormal romance fans.
I was quick to grab this book when I saw who the author was and the series that it was a part of.
The eBook cover was something that caught my eye as well. I liked the cover a lot and hoped for the best for the story. Because even with this series I either really liked the story or it fell short of that. This story left me with mixed feelings about it.
The Prologue confused me at first, making me wonder where this fit in with the story. It does get cleared up later but it had me scratching my head for a while. I will say though that it was a pretty dramatic beginning to the book.
Both Ildaria and G.G. were good main characters who each had their own issues. Ildaria’s reach back MANY years because of her immortal status. She’d suffered a lot throughout the years and is still on the run and trusting no one.
I did like the different angle that this story had with G.G. being mortal but having extensive knowledge and acceptance of Immortals. Acceptance yes but wanting to be one would be a strong No. You can see why that’s going to be a problem, right?
G.G. was such a kind, compassionate man who was always available to people when they needed to talk. I liked him a lot and enjoyed his love for and gentleness with his fur-ball, quirky small dog. I know it was mentioned that G.G. was a handsome guy but I had a hard time imagining it. He had a tall, green Mohawk , so maybe it was just me. That didn’t appeal to me but his personality, kindness and his way of helping others did.
Ildaria had other people who stepped up to help her. That was a bit difficult for her because she’s been going it alone for so long.
Those other people added depth to the story.
I will say that although the way Ildaria was turned was really different, I also wasn’t that much a fan of that.
There is a good end to the story that included a surprise twist and an Epilogue.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
I eagerly devour each new entry in this fascinating series. It is 1 of only 2 contemporary series that I read. The other is Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series.
I love the world that Lynsay Sands has created with this series. I also love that she has made several Family Trees for different groups within the series. I like her unique spin on vampirism. I like that she has found a way for “Vampires” to coexist in the world of humans that sounds plausible. She has built up a fully functioning society with rules/laws, a governing body, a “police” force to uphold the laws and consequences for breaking the laws. I also like that the characters have regular jobs, lives and problems too.
I am still enjoying this series after 31 books and I cannot wait to read the next one.
I received a copy in a giveaway hosted by Goodreads
The book starts with a kick ass angel coming to the rescue of an FBI agent, but the book doesn’t go with the FBI guy.
The real story is an immortal woman on the run for two hundred years who finally meets her life mate who is mortal and owns a bar for immortals.. Surprising resolutions including a clever mother’s machinations to turn her son, which are very funny and a dog too cute to be a dog.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Lynsay Sands has long been one of my all-time favorite authors and the one with which I fell in love with the vampire paranormal genre! I have always found her unique perspective on how vampires could co-exist amongst us on a daily basis without being the soul-sucking monsters of popular myth but rather as productive members of society, abiding by the laws of humanity as well as being governed by their own Council with its strict guidelines and rules to have to adhere to as well, to be not only refreshingly original but a concept that has withstood the test of time quite well! I have read every one of the Argeneau Vampire books and loved them all!! There is always action, drama, snarky humor, and love in the form of a life-mate to be found within the pages of each book that will surely satisfy even the most resistant and skeptical of the genre, inevitably adding another member to the ranks of those already firmly ensconced as true fans of author Lynsay Sands!!
Ildaria Garcia has always seemed to attract trouble. She’s been on the run for nearly 200 years after a traumatizing event in her youth and in that time has developed a habit of helping those in dire situations and taking out would-be criminals. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been camouflaging her superhuman abilities as well as she should during her vigilante activities and has drawn too much attention to the Immortals. Now she’s caught the notice of the Council and must relocate once again and try to stay out of trouble in a different city, where she finds herself in a totally different sort of entanglement with the owner of the local Immortal night club.
Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, better known as G.G. because of his 6’5” frame and signature green Mohawk, knows plenty about Immortals since his mother and stepfather are Immortals themselves. G.G. is slightly wary of Immortals, but instantly and fiercely attracted to Ildaria. He’s a bit alarmed to learn they could be possible life mates, as he’s always wanted to remain mortal. When the past she ran from finds her in Toronto, G.G. must decide what he’s willing to do to stay by Ildaria’s side, forever.
The books in this series seem to be either his or miss for me, but this one was a hit. I loved G.G. as the gentle giant hero with a fluffy white dog. It was just adorable to me. He and Ildaria were such an odd pairing but they were adorable together. I appreciated that this was relatively low on angst and G.G. and Ildaria were quick to communicate with each other openly rather than try to play games. There was a great twist here that didn’t go the way I expected it to, and I found G.G.’s mother and her sly manipulations of the men in her life to be hilarious. Ildaria’s gaining of a family after so long on her own was also very sweet, almost as much so as her growing to trust G.G. I think this story flowed well and it was a nice feel good read for me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
On the run, from the vampire who caused her accidental turn, Ildaria had finally settled down and much to her surprise, found a life mate, her new boss at a vampire night club, GG. But when the past catches up to her, Ildaria contemplates running again and leaving GG behind even if it means losing out on love.
I haven’t had the chance to read one of the Argeneau series books in a while and it was fun to catch up. Reading these books feels like reconnecting with old friends. I really liked the tough kick-butt Ildaria who is known for getting herself in trouble with the vampire council because of her vigilante ways. GG is a big rough looking guy with a green mohawk, that no one will mess with, but he has a heart of gold. He also has a cute little dog who creates some fun scenes too. All around, I enjoyed this book quite a lot. I just wish the story was a little longer as I read it too fast.
Can you believe this is the 31rst book in this series. It’s amazing that after so many books you still have fresh idea’s.
I’ve been waiting for our favorite green Mohawk giant G.G. To get his own book for a while. And it’s finally here. Ildaria just can’t see to stay out of trouble until she meets G.G. Marquerite is up to her old matchmaking tricks.
Lynsey Sands is always good for a great laugh out loud great story.
Thank you Avon and NetGalley for a advanced copy of this book for a honest review.
Immortal Angel was a beautifully unassuming story that wrapped itself easily around my heart. I found myself falling for its gentle vulnerability, its quiet strength, and it unending determination. This was a perfect journey to catch my attention and hold it captive with its astonishing twists on vampires and their lore reaching from the long forgotten past to the foreseeable future. This is what a great story is made of!
Angelina has been on the run hiding from a powerful enemy, so when she finds her life up-ended one more time, she is ready to just call it quits and go hide on her own. Meeting her next boss changes her mind since he is nothing like she would have ever imagined. She is taken back by his quiet yet challenging personality. She finds him refreshing and a good change in her life. Joshua is just glad to make a new friend and a surprisingly talented employee. When Angelina’s deadly past catches up to her, Joshua must decide if she is worth the danger she brings to his life. Can life truly give her such a wonderful gift, or is it just setting her up to fail miserably?
I had no idea what to expect when I walked into this story, and I was wonderfully surprised. I watched two lonely hearts find each other and slowly discover the promise and hope the other gives them each day. What a stunning promise of a future that lies before them once their worries are conquered and they find the peace they are desperately searching for. I simply couldn’t get enough of this incredible journey! It shredded every part of my heart, but I loved it all the more for it. My heart thrives on challenges, and the challenge that faced me was one that blew all of my boundaries to dust.
Lyndsay Sands is a truly gifted author who touched my heart in more then one way. Her characters were phenomenal, and I truly hope to read more of this fascinating series. The twists and turns I found along the way left me begging her for more. Oh, what an amazing discovery of this great series! I highly recommend any of her paranormal books if they are even close to as incredible as this one is!
Immortal Angel (Argeneau #31) by Lynsay Sands I will admit I have missed a few of the books in this series. Ildaria Garcia has been on the run with a knack for saving women and taking down bad guys. She meets G.G. who runs a night club for immortals… He is human but his mother and stepfather are immortal…There is A LOT of sex and sex dreams life mate style… I could have done with a little less..but all in all I enjoyed this book.
This was my first book of Lynsay Sands and I didn’t realize it was #31 in the series. The good news is, I don’t think it mattered. I was not lost at all and had no idea it wasn’t a standalone. Anyone can pick this book up and read it.
Overall, this was a pretty entertaining read. I enjoyed the main characters, especially Angel. I liked how she couldn’t help but get herself in trouble with the council for stepping in to save humans. She had a good sense of right and wrong and was willing to take her chances to do the right thing. She’s had a bad past and doesn’t trust easy but she seems to draw people to her despite that.
G.G. or Joshua, was as equally an entertaining character. He’s not one that will make you go all hot and bothered for a hero, but I liked him. His mother was hilarious.
This has a good cast of side characters that I can easily assume are mc’s in previous books. I have found a few couples that I want to get to know more, so I will be checking out some of the earlier books.
This is not my first Lynsay Sands book and when it comes to this series these books are hit and miss for me. I enjoyed the characters in the story, and the storyline was a good one but this story fell a little short for me. It wasn’t a bad story but the flow of it was slow, and the flow of the story is just as important to me as the characters in the story. The chemistry between Ildaria and G.G was undeniable and there were definitely some steamy scenes between the two. You will love them from the very beginning. H.D also played a huge part in this story and you will love him. Ildaria has been on the run for years, so this story has a lot of suspense, it also has a moment that will make you laugh out loud but to be honest there isn’t really much that goes on in the story. The suspense will keep you wanting to know the end, and it was good to finally learn what Juan’s deal was but to be honest, that was it. The story and the ending was okay.
